Though Major League Soccer will be entering its 16th season when Spring 2011
rolls around, it's fair to say the league has come a long way. Not simply in trying to break down
the perennial American mindset against the beautiful game, but rather trying to be accepted by
mainstream media.

As Florent Malouda rushed to the Chelsea bench after scoring what would be the winner for the
Blues as they defeated the ever-resilient Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, there was nothing
but a hint of desperation in the air.

This might be a bit of a dismissable opinion to the vast majority of our readers, but, after
letting the initial storm engage in some soothing relaxation therapy and metamorphose into
something ever so slightly more like a vapid drizzle, the epiphany dawned onto me that every
country on FIFA's shortlist must be capable of hosting a successful tournament.
Should the Rev's local Fox affiliate be known as "Boston FOX25: our source for
not-quite-breaking-but-still-quite-interesting New England Revolution news"? I think so but I'm
kinda random like that. It also seems random that the Revs are on TV at this point in the
off-season but hey, we take what we can get.

This summer Van Gaal had one target - Edin Dzeko. He refused the idea of signing Ozil and
Khedira with Christian Nerlinger (Sporting Director of Bayern) proclaiming that the Bavarians were
unsure of their quality. From the beginning of this season German media has been certain that Dzeko

... reducing the number of matches to 18 and taking a break in deference to the Women's World Cup.
(The World Cup runs from June 26-July 17 ... so you might want to pop that into your calendars
now!

Crawford for a seven year $142 Million dollar contract, some supporters of Liverpool were not very
happy to hear that.
I'm dumbfounded to read about Liverpool supporters screaming for half of that amount that should
be given to their club to purchase players during the winter transfer window.

We're all guilty. No matter how noble we may try to seem in 140 character splices, we've all
done it. Whether it is in FIFA 11 or Football Manager, we've all disregarded allegiances to our
lifelong clubs and have succumbed to the lure of taking the reins at what is now the richest club
in world football.
