Manchester United is coming back to the United States this summer in what could be an
unforgettable tour for American (and Canadian) soccer fans.
The Sports Business Journal is reporting that Manchester United is working on a summer tour of
North American that would include visits to Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Houston for the 2010
MLS All-Star Game.
Ask any New Englander and you'll find that there's only one football to be found in the region.
Sure, the local MLS side, the New England Revolution, may play in the same stadium as the NFL's New
England Patriots (both owned by billionaire Robert Kraft), but the general public consciousness and
amount of media coverage among the two organizations is not even comparable.

Maurice Edu said he "had never met this President before" because he met George W. Bush
during his days playing college soccer with Maryland. This time around, however, "Mo" seemed a
little more excited about President Obama.
If there was ever a concrete proof needed in regards to the United States' ability to host a
World Cup in the near future, it was provided on Wednesday night in Boston's famous baseball
stadium known as Fenway Park. The venue, which is usually the home of baseball franchise Red Sox,
turned into an ice rink earlier this year, which meant that it was not all that difficult for it to
be turned into a football ground.
The US Bid Committee has revealed it's list of 18 cities that be be included on the 2018/2022

Up here in the Pacific Northwest, we can be pretty confident. But it was certainly interesting to
see Chicago and the Bay Area eliminated.
On Wednesday, Major League Soccer announced that the Chicago Fire, Chivas USA, Houston Dynamo, and

We were lucky enough to take in a wonderful Women's Premier Soccer (WPS) match at the historic
Harvard University stadium Friday night between the Boston Breakers and FC Gold Pride. Now this was
personally our first WPS match we've attended, but there was quite a bit of hype surrounding it
because it was billed as a match between "The Two Best Players in the World.

Eddie Johnson, United States Men's National Team Striker, will know whether or not he is going
to South Africa for the World Cup by lunchtime. I was able to talk to the Aris FC and Fulham FC man
after the United States-Czech Republic friendly about what it is like to be in his situation
because, honestly, it is not a fun one to be in.
Should I make an offer to K.C. soccer-hop trio HBK to be the first signing on TOR Records? They
don't know that HBK is their name yet but since I'll be playing the role of Svengali --think Phil
Spector meets Suge Knight minus the criminal records-- of this whole operation I figure they won't
mind me blessing them with their nom de rap.
The beautiful game is finally making its presence felt in the United States. With the World Cup
taking center stage this side of the pond, organizers want to cash in on the rapidly increasing
popularity of the sport this summer. The state of Massachusetts has played its part by arranging
a friendly game between Scottish giants Celtic and Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon.

Well, the US are still in this. Very much so. They really could and should have won, but any fan
will be happy with a draw after going down 2-0 at halftime. Valter Birsa and Zlatan Ljubijankic
scored in the 13th and 42nd minute, respectively.
Read the first line of the second paragraph in this bit on Charlie Davies (pronounced: Char-Lee
MUR-PHAY) from Boston.com. This is EXACTLY how the Thierry Henry-to-New York deal got started. And
as much as I hate to say it, his European career looks like it might end sooner than later.
CD9 to NER in 2011, I'm calling it (based on nothing) right now.
All of us here at A Football Report are proud to have been acknowledged by Tumblr as
one of their favourite sites. But even before today's Tumblr Tuesday
mention, we have been committed to providing intelligent, entertaining, and insightful commentary
on the beautiful game.
Liverpool Football Club today announces that the Board has agreed the sale of the Club to New
England Sports Ventures:
First and foremost, "The sale is conditional on Premier League approval, resolution
of the dispute concerning Board membership and other matters." We'll provide our analysis in
due time once the situation becomes more apparent, but until now it is important to recognise and
process the raw, immense information coming out of Anfield.

In Bundesliga it was business as usual - goals, upsets, controversy and Dortmund domination
(Yes! it is time you familiarize yourself with them because as Franz Beckenbauer said they are
playing in another league.
LIVERPOOL, England Liverpool is giving away free tickets to youngsters accompanied by a paying
adult in the latest bid by the team's American owners to win over supporters. Boston Red Sox and
Liverpool owner John Henry is trying to repair the Premier League club's frail relationship with
fans after buying the team in October [.

Though Major League Soccer will be entering its 16th season when Spring 2011
rolls around, it's fair to say the league has come a long way. Not simply in trying to break down
the perennial American mindset against the beautiful game, but rather trying to be accepted by
mainstream media.

As Florent Malouda rushed to the Chelsea bench after scoring what would be the winner for the
Blues as they defeated the ever-resilient Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge, there was nothing
but a hint of desperation in the air.
The USA Bid Committee named the 18 cities they will include in their package as they bid to host

Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Phoenix/Glendale,
San Diego, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington DC are the cities on the list.
The USSF selected the 18 cities that will be listed in its official proposal to host the 2018 or

make the final cut.
Después de la eliminación de Chicago como ciudad sede para los juegos

sea en el 2018 ó 2022.
Es la mayor apuesta para los gringos y desde ya, están trabajando para albergar una vez
más un mundial en tierras anglosajonas.
A couple of weeks ago started our series on the business of selling MLS and WPS merchandise
online. The first post looked at sales through official websites for the leagues and teams. You
can view that post here. We then took a look at third party sellers of soccer merchandise.
Today, we will take a look at the re-sale market for MLS & WPS merchandise.
Not long after announcing he won't return to the New England Revolution, Steve Ralston landed at
his new place: A.C. St. Louis of the NASL.
So long to an MLS original and the league-leader in minutes and assists.
"I was going back and forth on this more than Brett Favre, weighing both sides,"
Ralston said.

I found a list of spots where the UEFA Champions League Trophy will be displayed in New York City.
It will be at the following locations today and tomorrow: Jack Dempsey's (Saturday at 12pm)
Playwright Tavern and Restaurant (Saturday at 5pm) Nevada Smiths (Sunday at 12pm) The Red Lion
(Sunday at 5pm) The Original Winger has additional locations in Boston and Chicago (Los Angeles
locations have yet to be confirmed).
I've gotten a number of questions about the locations for the Champions League trophy tour stops in
Los Angeles this weekend. The answer is that I don't know and I haven't seen any specifics. The
stops have rarely been announced more than 48 hours before the actual event. (Boston and Chicago
were the exceptions.

48′), Justin Braun (33′) y Blair Gavin (80′). Osael Romero sigue lesionado.

finales de la Conferencia Este, por lo que tan solo están a una victoria de las finales de la NBA.

As you've probably already seen, I was down in Hartford, Connecticut yesterday as the United
States Men's National Team prepared for their friendly against the Czech Republic in the build-up
to the World Cup.

MLS has come down hard on Coach Hans Backe, fining him $2500 for his post game

Here is the quote, per Boston.com:
Backe said he agreed with Mendes's ejection, but not Miller's.
