Japan's recent friendly defeat to England in Graz was in many ways symptomatic of their current
standing in world football. They have many good quality players and as a team they can score when
they really want to but defeat can never be completely ruled out. The Japanese football fans know
this and as a result do not expect to have much to cheer about at this summer's World Cup Finals.

Manchester City have certainly demonstrated their ability to splash around some major cash at
will this summer. Wolfsburg's Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko has now challenged the Sky Blues to

he understands that only a select few clubs can afford the price tag of £34 million that his
German club has slapped on him.

Vfl Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko wants to move, and Manchester City (along with

It's often a question that football fans can never really answer, but why do certain players
seem quite happy to sit on the bench? More often than not players are always wanting to play, so
transfers to clubs where the opportunities are limited always confuses the fans. For example, one
particular player is currently trying his very best to escape from Stoke City for no obvious
reason.

True, he's a perfectly decent forward with a fair old goal record in the German league to boot
