Two first half goals from Giovani Dos Santos and Javier Hernandez were enough to see Mexico stun Brazil 2-0 in front of almost 85,000 fans in Dallas today.

Dos Santos opened the scoring in the 21st minute when he picked up a pass from Pablo Barrera, beat Brazilian defender Danilo and cleverly lobbed his shot over Santos goalkeeper Rafael.

Things are afoot. Let us round up and see. The US fell in the world rankings again today. Without playing a game, it should be said. What are your thoughts on the US at No. 29? Nestled cozily in a neighborhood with Japan, Slovenia and Edin Dzeko's Bosnia-Herzegovina, which might as well not have any other players.

The latest FIFA World Rankings are out and Spain continues to be on the top spot. There is a bit of change in the top 5 as the Netherlands move up to 2nd and Germany moves down to 3rd. Brazil rounds out the top five by moving up two spots while fellow South American side Argentina jumps three spots to eighth place.

Yesterday, Bosnia-Herzegovina took on world powerhouse Brazil in an international friendly in St. Gallen, Switzerland. The Brazilians took an early lead when Marcelo scored in the 4th minute. The early goal suggested that Brazil might ultimately overpower the Balkans side, but in the 13th minute Vedad Ibisevic picked the equalizer for Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The last four teams are ready for the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ucraine:Portugal: After 0-0 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Portuguese lived up to the expectations and dispatched the Bosnians with a resounding 6-2.Ireland: The Irish are back in a major footballing tournament, after 1-1 at home against Estonia, which was enough after their 0-4 victory in Tallinn.

The likes of Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and England have all booked their places in Euro 2012 already, but four tickets to the festivities in Poland and Ukraine still have yet to be punched.

The draw for the Euro 2012 qualification play offs were made in the Polish city of Krakow on Thursday.

First leg matches are scheduled for November 11 or 12 with the second leg to be played on November 15.

We now know twelve of the sixteen finalists for next summer's European Championship in Poland & Ukraine, with play-offs for the four remaining places taking place in mid-November.
The hosts will be joined by Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and Sweden.

A host of Chelsea players are in action today for their respective countries as qualifying for next year's European Championships comes to a close. Some, including Branislav Ivanovic, are in for a nervy couple of hours.
