Recently, I had the chance to interview Mark Conrad for Pro Soccer Weekly. Mark is an up and coming
young player who has played with the USL PDL club Kitsap Rumas, along with Serbian club FK
Vojvodina and Bosnian club FK Velez. Mark plays right wing and forward and is a fun, attacking
player to watch as you can see in this video clip.
Juventus midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic has admitted that he is thinking about a move to Major
League Soccer after his current contract runs out. Speaking ahead of the Italian team's mini-tour
of North America, the 33-year-old Bosnian midfielder told reporters that such a move intrigues him,
in part because he would like to move his family to the U.
The 2010 World Cup must be one to forget for the French national team. With unrest rife
throughout the camp, the team slumped to a bottom of the group finish with one point and one goal
scored. The all-too-familiar strike by the French didn't help matters as they refused to train
following Chelsea striker Nicholas Anelka's much publicised falling out with, then manager, star
sign enthusiast Raymond Domenech.
Ireland U19 captain, Conor Clifford has backed his team to defy all of the odds and reach
this summer's UEFA Championship finals in France as they complete their UEFA Championship, elite
qualifying phase with a game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday in Kiev. Ireland must defeat
Bosnia & Herzegovina by four goals or more and hope that reigning European Champions, Ukraine
defeat England 1-0 in the other game in group 3 to ensure qualification for the ‘Boys in
Green.
Will Spain's fortunes in the World Cup be similar to Euro 2008 or the 2009 FIFA Confederations
Cup?
On Tuesday, the goalkeepers and defenders were discussed, and Wednesday, the midfielders were
discussed. With all of the creative talent in the midfield, that will bring the pressure on the
forwards to convert the multitudes of chances that Xavi, Xabi Alonso, etc.
It would seem that our top target this summer is Edin Dzeko and it's easy to see why. Aged 24,
the Wolfsburg striker was the top scorer in the Budesliga last season, was nominated for the Ballon
d'Or in 2009 and was second top scorer to Wayne Rooney in the UEFA qualifying section of the World
Cup, despite playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
When: Saturday, May 29 (kickoff scheduled for 2:03 EST)

"Spear" yet, and really needs the practice if he's going to earn a horrible red card this June.

Javier Mascherano's exit from Liverpool appears to be closer than ever, as Barcelona is set to
make a move in order to up its transfer bid for the Argentina international.

Why: Euro 2012 Qualifier
France have a tough road match ahead of them. I see this is as France's biggest test in the
qualifying campaign. This is, in my opinion, a must win for France, a tie at least.
Gerard Houllier is set to be confirmed as the new manager of Aston Villa this week. After spells
managing Liverpool and Lyon, Houllier is currently the technical director for the French national
team, but he has scheduled a meeting with French Football Federation president Fernando Duchaussoy
to follow Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia & Herzogovina vs France
For the second time in a little over a month, we're enticed with Euro 2012 qualifying before
heading into hibernation until late March, so enjoy it while you can.
The bulk on the games will be played on Friday, with a couple stragglers on Saturday so as not
to keep your weekends international free.
