Arsenal should defeat relegated QPR comfortably today as they aim to secure third place and a Champions league spot. QPR on the other hand will be reeling from the relegation they confirmed last weekend against Reading.
Harry Redknapp has already confirmed that he will stay with the club in the Championship next season and chairman Tony Fernandes has stated that promotion back to the top is not guaranteed in one or even two seasons.
Here we go, another great weekend of Premier League football is here. Throw your "Why Always Me?"
t-shirts to the side, and let's concentrate on Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, and the rest
of the weekend's fantasy prognostications. Let's ... Continue reading →
3 points in 4 games is not what Chelsea supporters have come to expect in the past couple of
years. This is not a pleasant moment to be a supporter of Chelsea but, although there are few
positives to be taken from the last 3 weeks, it's not all bad news.
There are a lot of excuses which could be made for the recent away form.
When Chelsea won the Champions League and even though Roman Abramovich told the players after the
game that "This is just the beginning", It will also mark the end of an era at Chelsea.
In a couple of days time and as the transfer window re-opens we all know there will be people
leaving and coming into the club.
According to THIS LIST, Jose Bosingwa is to be released by Chelsea when his contract expires at the
end of June. So I was wondering what you people think of Bosingwa's time at the club as it now
comes to an end?.
For me Bosingwa is one of the best attacking full backs in the game but I guess it's the defensive
side of his game that let's him down doesn't it.
After reading (and posting) that Gary Cahill is about to sign for Chelsea and is rumoured to
have asked for assurances of first team football at Chelsea ahead of Euro 2012, I just wonder what
it means for David Luiz.
The more I think about it, the more I can see Luiz being asked to step sideways and play at RB for
the remainder of the season to accommodate Cahill in the middle next to JT.
Over the weekend we heard AVB confirm that Alex and Nico Anelka have both submitted transfer
requests to the club that have been accepted and they are now training away from the first team
squad until a move has been completed.
Yesterday however, news broke all over the media that Chelsea and AVB are also willing to listen to
offers for a further FOUR more players in January!
In light of all the recent speculation surrounding the futures of Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and
Jose Bosingwa, AVB has come out and made HIS intentions clear, even if they do not sign new
contracts before January, he has no intention of selling them this season and would rather let
their contracts run out than lose them from his plans for the season.
Andre Villas Boas confirmed in his press conference yesterday that there are deals offered and on
the table for four of our first team players who's contracts are due to expire at the end of this
season.
Jose Bosingwa, Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou have all had offers made to them by
the club to extend their time here but I am just wondering who would sign an extended deal.
One person that will split opinion amongst Chelsea fans is Jose Bosingwa. Not the best player
defensively compared to others we have at the club, but one of the best attacking defenders, he
seems to have established himself as a first team regular this season under AVB.
It's all very different to last season where there had been constant speculation that he would be
one of the players to leave the club back in the summer.
News has broken this afternoon that Chelsea will take up the option of keeping Jose Bosingwa at the
club for another season in the summer. I have to say when it comes to Jose Bosingwa I still think
that the jury is out. I am not 100% convinced and never really have been. Don't get me wrong, he is
fantastic going forward (even though at times it's his final ball or cross that let's him down)
however, it's the defensive side of things that have always concerned me about him.
LONDON, England  — Chelsea were sent spinning to a shock 1-0 defeat at Wolves on Wednesday as
the Premier League champions fell further behind in the title race and left manager Carlo Ancelotti
clinging to his job. An own goal by defender Jose Bosingwa after five minutes handed victory to
Wolves, who climbed out of [.
It seems in the past few days that Bayern Munich have changed their minds after being linked with
making a January move for Jose Bosingwa. Bayern have always expressed an interest in the player who
has made a return from the long injury that forced him out of first team action for a substantial
amount of time.
Carlo Ancelotti gave his pre-match press conference yesterday and confirmed that Florent Malouda,
Jose Bosingwa and Frank Lampard will miss the game. He said:
'Malouda and Bosingwa are not available for tomorrow. Malouda has a problem on his
ankle after a tackle in the last game, It's not a big problem but he won't be available for
tomorrow.
Chelsea on Saturday beat Wolverhampton Wanderers in an unspectacular but positive way. On paper
a 2-0 win over Wolves looks slightly disappointing and the home support may have hoped for more
but, in reality, it should be considered a very satisfying victory.
Wolves' performance from the beginning was strong and aggressive; the game had ‘potential
slip-up' written all over it until Salomon Kalou scored yet another goal after coming on as a
substitute.
So here's a question for you Chelsea fans. With the news that Jose Bosingwa is back in training and
ready to feature once more in Carlo's thoughts for selection soon I was wondering if you thought he
would be able to command his place back in the side?.
After all Ivanovic vary rarely has a poor game and if he has I would only recollect those games on
one hand.
The Chelsea Daily Drivel - A bloggers take on the Chelsea news is a daily update of all the stories
concerning our club, the rumours, the opinions and more....
So here are the Chelsea news updates on Thursday 30th September 2010 including:
Drogba, Essien and Kalou amongst 17 players in the running for African Player
of the year!
Chelsea have suffered another injury blow with the news that Jose Bosingwa will need a further
operation on the knee injury that has kept him out for most of the season.
Bosingwa has been out of action since October and the news of further surgery required will mean he
will also miss the this summers World Cup in South Africa for Portugal.
Portugal will most likely be missing Cristiano Ronaldo when it hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina on
11/14/09 as it looks to build some momentum prior to the return leg in Bosnia on the 18th of
November. Unfortunately for the Portuguese the latest report claims Ronaldo will be out for about a
month which means he will not feature in both matches for the national team.
We have all seen the rumours, we have all seen the speculation so it's about time that I put down
here on record (as pre season starts today) the players I believe need to impress AVB this week or
for the next 10 days. These are the players I believe may struggle to become part of AVB's
plans.
Reports broke yesterday that AC Milan have made their interest in our Portuguese right back Jose
Bosingwa known and with just six month remaining on his contract, Chelsea could be willing to let
him go now rather than lose him on a free when it runs out in the summer.
For me it's a no brainer really, Chelsea should have to cash in.
Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to the field with his teammates in Portugal as he works on being fit
for Portugal's big matchup against Hungary on Saturday. Ronaldo who suffered an ankle injury in
Champions League action with Real Madrid trained under the watchful eye of the teams
physiotherapist Antonio Gaspar.
Merry Christmas. Happy Boxing Day. Here are your gameweek 18 picks... I. Blackburn @ Liverpool: I
select this game as the 'game of the week,' not for it's on-the-field potential, but for the media
circus surrounding it off the pitch. ... Continue reading →
Jose Bosingwa fresh from making his first start of the season against Wolves at the weekend spoke
to ChelseaTV this week and says he feels good to be back. He said:
"My knee now is okay, After the game against Aston Villa, I felt more confidence with
my knee. I feel good and happy.
Jose Bosingwa the forgotten man at Chelsea should be returning to training at Cobham this
week which is fantastic news for a player who has faced life on the sidelines since back in October
2009.
Bosingwa has been out with a knee injury and had been working his way back to fitness to
play some part in the remainder of last season and the World Cup this past summer.
