Well no goals from any Americans playing abroad thus far this weekend so I thought I'd post one
that Michael Bradley scored for Borussia Mönchengladbach against Bayern Munich. Go USA!
The U.S. National Team roster for next Wednesday's friendly against Holland in Amsterdam is out,
and former Wizards striker Eddie Johnson is on the list. The 20-player roster is comprised of 16
Euro-based players, 3 MLS players and Jose Francisco Torres of the Mexican Primera Division. The
big-time match against one of the most skilled and precise teams in the world kicks off at 1:30 p.

Today, Bob Bradley announced the USA roster for next Tuesday's friendly against Brazil. The match,
7 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and Univision, will be the first for both squads since the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Props to former Wizard Herculez Gomez for his call-in. With only three forwards on the roster, he
stands a good chance of seeing action once again.
Jermaine Jones highlights a strong roster for the upcoming friendly vs. Brazil. No real
surprises other than that. My dreams of never seeing Robbie Findley in a US jersey again will have
to wait...

Jermain Jones (aka German Jones?) was originally named on the US roster to face Brazil in New
Jersey, as was Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall. However, both players have withdrawn from the
squad. Jones
apparently needed more pre-season time with Schalke, as he's still recovering from injury.
Schalke go 0 out of 4 to slip from crisis to meltdown. Wolfsburg and Stuttgart grab their first
wins. Other top clubs keep stuttering. The little ones keep rocking the table.
Schalke 1-3 Dortmund. Schalke had lost their previous matches as well, but at
least there was something of an upward spiral, with hints of better attacking football or a
slightly more stable defense.
Bob Bradley has named a 20-player roster to face the Netherlands at Amsterdam ArenA on March 3.
Kickoff for the match is set for 2:30 p.m. ET with live coverage on ESPN2 and Galavision.

Photo by ISIphotos.comU.S. national team head coach Bob Bradley named the 20-man roster for Wednesday's friendly vs.
the Netherlands in Amsterdam and, as expected, the roster is loaded with European-based
players.
Just three of the 20 players called up for the match are MLS players, four counting Landon
Donovan, who is currently with Everton on loan from the LA Galaxy.
Robben. Kuyt. Huntelaar. Van Bommel. Sneijder. van Bronckhorst. Stekenlenburg.
These are the names the USMNT will be facing down as they continue to lay down the pavement on
their road to the World Cup.
The Orange Machine will be sporting some heavy hitters, and the USMNT will be no different.
1:0 gegen Olympique Lyon gewinnen.
Known by USA soccer fans as the club of standout midfielder Michael Bradley, Borussia
Mönchengladbach, is a German football club based in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia. The
team currently plays in the top-tier of German soccer the 1. Bundesliga. Following today's credible
1-1- home draw with league leaders Bayern Munich, Die Fohlen (the Foals) currently [.
Ten-man Bayern beat Schalke, to reclaim the top of the table. Ten-man Leverkusen lose against
Frankfurt, to reclaim their choke label. Dortmund suddenly face the possibility of Champions League
football. Hertha suddenly face the possibility of Bundesliga survival.
Bayern. Bayern's top of the table clash with Schalke lived up to the hype for the
first 45 minutes, at least as far as intensity and drama went, which in times of regular let downs
by top games, was good enough.
Leverkusen lose at last and do it in style. Bayern drop points and keep the top spot. Schalke
emerges from the shadow. Hannover stop the downward spiral for the moment.
Leverkusen. In hindsight, it's easy to say it had been coming. What's certain
though is, that Leverkusen's defeat at the hands of Nuremberg (2-3) was preceded by a number of
draws and victories, that were no longer confident, but rather bumpy and lucky at times.
From the perspective of someone who's barely been paying attention, one of the more intriguing
stories of the offseason has been the weird swerving of the Liverpool crisis-drama, which is still
producing twists well into its 24th act. Just when you think the action is about to go stale (with
trembling hand, Martin Broughton places a phone call to the Royal Bank of Scotland), they go and
follow up the not-one-hundred-percent-intuitive Roy Hodgson hiring by signing Joe Cole, thereby
forcing you to realize that, waltzing Elizabeth, the dominant cultural influence in the Anfield
locker room next season is going to be.
The USA roster for next week's friendly has been released and it features some new faces as well
as some familar ones, with 14 of the 18 players called in coming from the 2010 USA World Cup
team.
Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Carlos Bocanegra are among the veterans, while Jermaine Jones and
Alejandro Bedoya are two non-World Cup players on the squad that will face Brazil on Tuesday in New
Jersey.

Thoughts on the Roster:
Bob Bradley and US Soccer have sent a clear message with this roster: win.
Bob Bradley has named his roster for the August 10 friendly against Brazil. A few names will pop
up at you in this one including Jermaine Jones.
For the most part the roster resembles a lot of what we saw in South Africa with a few minor
changes here and there. No Clint Dempsey or Jozy Altidore and interestingly enough no Charlies
Davies.
The US national team will play Brazil on August 10 at the new Meadowlands stadium and today
coach Bob Bradley announced his squad for the game.
This will be the U.S.'s first game since the World Cup, and Bradley;s squad has a familiar look
to it as 14 of the 18 players named were on the World Cup team.

German born Jermaine Jones, Schalke's holding midfielder will get a chance to take to the pitch
for his US debut.

But if it does, now would be the time. Hoffenheim take the first step towards their maiden
Bundesliga title, while newly promoted Kaiserslautern and St. Pauli will be eager to protect their
place in the Champions League. Bremen, Dortmund and Stuttgart face a tough battle for Bundesliga
survival.
Bayern Munich 2-1 Wolfsburg.
Goals galore, upsets, epic comebacks and all-winning away teams except for the one that was
expected to win and then fell to a newly promoted side.
Kaiserslautern 2-0 Bayern Munich. The Friday night match unfolded as everybody
expected. Bayern took the ball. Bayern kept the ball.
A record breaking weekend for the ages.
18. Torsten Frings scored from the spot against Cologne, successfully
converting his 18th penalty in a row. The last time he missed a penalty was in 2002, when he was
still at Dortmund. Typical German.
0-3 to 4-3.
Schalke's Jermaine Jones wasn't fit in time to participate with the USA in the 2010 World Cup, but
he could be a key part of the squad that takes on Brazil in their upcoming August friendly.

Schalke and Wolfsburg, this summer's biggest spenders, start their campaigns with zero points
out of nine. Somewhat vindicates Stuttgart's austerity, who spent €30m less and still achieved
the same result. At the other end of the table, a couple of relegation or midtable bound clubs
wonder what they are doing up there.
With weekend and midweek games in the Bundesliga, the prospect of being able to earn six points
in as many days would have been an appealing one to not only those clubs who have started well but
those who have struggled in the opening weeks.
The conclusion after Wednesday night's results: Mainz, Borussia
Dortmund and Wolfsburg will be pleased with earning maximum points.

Will Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp still be smiling at the end of the season?
Borussia Dortmund are already confirmed as Herbstmeister (Autumn Champions) before
their weekend game against 1.FC Nürnberg on Sunday. That's because their nearest challengers 1.FSV
Mainz 05 lost out in their local derby against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
