After dropping to his knees when Bastian Schweinsteiger won the penalty shootout to send Bayern
Munich to the Champions League final, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho made a quick exit down the
tunnel. Though Mourinho shook hands and shared a chuckle with Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes just
before the dreaded shootout began, to some viewers it appeared Mourinho was throwing one of his
tantrums in defeat.
UEFA Power Rankings 20 February 2012 - The 90th Minute Soccer Blog
Below are my weekly power rankings for the top (8) clubs teams in UEFA. These rankings are a
combination of their play in domestic and UEFA competitions.
Real Madrid continue to be in the top spot while there's little change in the rest of the power
rankings.

Israeli midfielder Ashraf Soliman was involved in arguably the most exciting game of his life when
Maccabi Umm al-Fahm took on Hapoel Afula in a cup tie. With his team 2-1 up and injury-time
looming, Soliman contrived to score perhaps the worst (or best depending how you look at it) own
goal ever as he [.
U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team head coach Caleb Porter has named a 20-player training camp
roster to convene March 13 to begin final preparations for the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying
tournament.
The 19-player roster will be finalized March 20, the due date for all participating teams to
submit their rosters to CONCACAF.
During Borussia Dortmund's title-deciding match against second-place Bayern Munich, the home
fans sitting behind visiting goalkeeper Manuel Neuer heaved a steady stream of bananas at him.
Though he tried to ignore it, even Neuer -- who used to play for Dortmund rivals Schalke --
couldn't help but smile at the odd scene (video here).
Vielleicht hat er sich den Schritt zu Bayern auch nicht zugetraut, weil er dringend Spielpraxis
braucht.
Holger Badstuber, Abwehrspieler des FC Bayern München, kommentiert den Wechsel von
Nationalmannschaftskollege Marco Reus zum amtierenden Meister Borussia Dortmund.
Marco Reus, the rising star in the German Bundesliga having helped Borussia Mönchengladbach to
a respectable fourth place during the winter break, will be leaving the club at the end of the
season to play for Borussia Dortmund.
It was announced today on Mönchengladbach's website that the player will remain at the club for
the 2011-12 season before signing a five year deal with the current German champions Dortmund for a
transfer fee of 17,5 million Euros.

Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey have shared plenty of moments throughout their careers as the
top two attacking threats of the U.S. men's national team, but they will not be celebrating
together on Friday.
The two American stars are set to face off for the first time since 2006 when Everton and Fulham
do battle in the fourth round of the FA Cup (3pm, Fox Soccer Channel).
So Arsene Wenger will make a signing in the January transfer window after all although it is
hardly likely to get moaning fans off his back anytime soon.
For we hear that Borussia Dortmund academy midfielder Thomas Eisfeld is set to join Arsenal
pending a successful medical examination.
Arsenal's newest midfielder Thomas Eisfeld has made it known that he is proud to be chosen as a
Gunner, particularly as he aims to strike a partnership with Tomas Rosicky a man he grew up
watching at Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year old Eisfeld arrived from Dortmund yesterday to complete his move to North London
ahead of the transfer deadline and after being unveiled, the youngster pledged to make both his
current and former club proud.

I'm not going to lie to you. As much as I'd like to sit here and tell you about all of the great
action that is taking place this weekend, I'm having a hard time coming up with enough to fill up
this entry. There are a pair of great matches on Sunday, that are taking place at the same time,
unfortunately, but other than that, the pickings are pretty slim.
The US roster to face Italy next week.

Chandler, Donovan, Torres withdraw from USA Roster; Shea & Kljestan added - The 90th Minute
Soccer Blog
The USA roster has changed a bit as three players have withdrawn and two are added. Timmy
Chandler, Landon Donovan, and Jose Francisco Torres have been forced to withdraw from the squad due
to injuries.
From US Soccer:
Gatt, who has apparently acquired the nickhname, "20-year-old Batman."
U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team head coach Caleb Porter has named an initial 19-player roster
for training camp that will convene March 13 to begin final preparations for the CONCACAF Men's
Olympic Qualifying tournament.
The three matches we chose yesterday weren't the most compelling: Sunderland-Spurs the most
dreary, a scoreless draw, while Lazio beat Napoli 3-1 (highlighted by a fantastic chilena goal by
Mauri), and Porto beat Sporting Braga 1-0 on their home ground. There were other interesting
results in Italy, where AC Milan lost to lowly Fiorentina due to a late late goal, and later in the
day Juve dispatched Palermo, thus pulling even with Milan on points at the top of the table.
STARTERSThe Clint Dempsey Show does not seem to be getting anywhere close to slowing down right now, with a
goal yesterday that may or may not be ruled an own goal giving him 16 Premier League goals on the
season, 22 in all competitions for Fulham.
-Here is video of post game interviews with his manager, captain and the man himself after their
tie with Chelsea yesterday.

Bayern Munich will meet Chelsea in the Champions League Final after beating Real Madrid 3-1 on
penalties.
Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the decisive spot-kick after Manuel Neuer had made two stunning
saves to deny Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
David Alaba and Mario Gomez had sent Iker Casillas the wrong way to put Bayern in control of the
shootout, but Real were handed a lifeline as the Spanish captain saved from Toni Kroos and Philipp
Lahm.
Manchester United's Summer 2012 Transfer Targets - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Manchester United may miss out on the title this year, but there are many things to look
forward to next season.
United's 1-0 loss to City puts them in a tie with their arch-rivals at the top of the table, but
City's goal difference is eight points better than United's.
Chelsea and Liverpool began the current season with hopes of challenge for the English Premier
League title, and while both teams saw their league campaigns turn into disappointments, both have
enjoyed considerable success in cup competitions.
Now the Blues and Reds are set to face off today in the FA Cup Final (12:15pm, Fox Soccer
Channel), with Chelsea hoping to add the trophy to its collection ahead of the UEFA Champions
League Final, and with Liverpool looking to add the FA Cup to the Carling Cup the club has already
won this season.
Sneijder, Kagawa or Martinez? The Solution to United's Midfield problems - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
Manchester United are on the brink of having one of their worst seasons in the last decade, and
their first trophy-less season since the 2004-05 season.
United need improvements this summer to get back to their winning ways under Sir Alex
Ferguson.
TweetBorussia Dortmund smashed Bayern Munich 5-2 to win the DFB Pokal (German Cup) in an
extraordinary match in Berlin. The result of course gives much food for thought for Chelsea with
Roberto Di Matteo's men set to face the Germans in the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena
on 19, May.
Arsenal finished the league season today in 3rd place, which gives the team automatic qualification
for next season's Champions League, which is great.
Some of this season's highlights:
1. Getting by Udinese in the Champions League Qualifier
2. Winning the Champions League group, including taking four points against Borussia Dortmund, who
just completed the German League and Cup double
3.
Herc Gomez against Turkey...
Twitter and other news reports out on Saturday suggested that there were two more additions to
the US final preliminary roster set to be release sometime today. Those flown in today are
apparently to include Herculez Gomez and Chris Wondolowksi
That would make the current roster look like this:
(Blue text means unconfirmed by US Soccer:)
GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt
Lake)
DEFENDERS (4): Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Steve Cherundolo
(Hannover), Alfredo Morales (Hertha Berlin)
MIDFIELDERS (8): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Chievo Verona), Joe Corona (Club
Tijuana), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Jose
Torres (Pachuca), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)
FORWARDS (1): Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Terrence Boyd (Borussia Dortmund), Herculez Gomez (Santos
Laguna), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)
That leaves 9 players set for possible inclusion today.
No links this time, just a coupla semi-goodies, a bit of good news and a Danish-American horn toot.
It's just about that time again, so let's unpack those ol' thumbs up and down for summer... #1 -
Let's start with a couple of transfer report reviews: I can confirm that the Austrian report of
Rapid Vienna being a loan option for young Borussia Dortmund goal shark Terrence "Ostinato Cello"
Boyd
With the arrival of Jozy Altidore this morning, the USA's 23-player travel roster is now complete
and fully operational. After a walking tour of the city this morning, the team will hold a public
training session tonight at the University of Maryland, then gets its first look at FedExField
tomorrow evening.
Liverpool and Arsenal face a major battle with Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund to sign Spartak
Moscow striker Welliton.
The Brazilian, 25, is rated one of the best forwards in Russia and has attracted interest from a
number of European clubs.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are keen to bolster their forward line and have been linked with a move
for the 5ft 9in forward.
So after weeks of uncertainty over Marco Reus's future, Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund were
finally able to land the services of the highly rated attacking midfielder.
Dortmund beat out the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich who were the two clubs closely
associated with the 22 year old.

With the departure of Cesc and Nasri, no matter what you think of the players, it's obvious that
our goals from the midfield area have reduced. Whether this be down to the injury of Wilshire, or
the lack of width provided by the full backs, I don't know. But, with Arshavin looking increasingly
on his way out, what has become clear is that Arsenal are in need of an attacking midfielder/wide
player who can create and score goals in equal measure.

Danish wonderkid Lucas Andersen could be on his way out of Aalborg in the winter transfer window,
with Liverpool keen on a move for the teenager.
The highly rated youngster made his official first team debut for Aalborg in March 2011 at the
tender age of 16, and has since developed into an important member of Aab's squad.
