In case ESPN don't know - this is what Eintracht Frankfurt look like
No doubt that not a lot of people will know, nor actually care, about what I'm going to write
but I shall do it anyway. During the current Bundesliga campaign this season there has been a live
game shown every Friday night.
Just a few rumors, and some interesting situations that could arise in January.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in offering midfielder Steven Pienaar a return to Germany if he
fails to sort out his future with Everton.
In a week when Manchester United begin another Champions League campaign, we should remember one of
the most blinkered decisions ever taken in the history of English football. When Chelsea won

The first Champions League matchday didn't offer a great deal of excitement. There were a decentish
amount of goals 44 strikes in 16 games for an average of 2.75 per game but a good many of those
came from the beatings handed down by Barcelona and Arsenal.
Schalke go 0 out of 4 to slip from crisis to meltdown. Wolfsburg and Stuttgart grab their first
wins. Other top clubs keep stuttering. The little ones keep rocking the table.
Schalke 1-3 Dortmund. Schalke had lost their previous matches as well, but at
least there was something of an upward spiral, with hints of better attacking football or a
slightly more stable defense.
Derbytime!

La Liga clubs spent a week on vacation after the opening round of fixtures because of the

U.S. national team goalkeeper Tim Howard will go up against his former club on Saturday when
Everton takes on Manchester United in one of the weekend's featured matches.

A Man Under Pressure: Steve McClaren.
Friday's Bundesliga fixture saw current league leaders Hoffenheim dismiss last year's Bundesliga
runners-up Schalke by a scoreline of two goals to nil. Magath's Schalke side remain pointless and
rooted to the bottom of the table, while Hoffenheim hold top spot ahead of a perfect nine-point
start.
Stuart Holden has enjoyed a good start to the season at Bolton, establishing himself as a
starter for the Wanderers. Both Holden and Bolton face a stiff test today when they take on
Arsenal.
The Bolton-Arsenal tilt is just one of many featuring Americans today. Tim Howard's Everton
takes on Manchester United today, while Clint Dempsey's Fulham goes up against Marcus Hahnemann's
Wolverhampton.

An absolute shocker in the Liga as Javier Mascherano's debut turns to dust.
Hercules, a club promoted after 13 years and composed of former rejects including Real Madrid's
Royston Drenthe, Juve's David Trezeguet, Pompey's Noe Pamarot, and Borussia Dortmund's Nelson
"Haecho" Valdez defeated the Liga title holders, 2-0 at home.
The weekend before UEFA Champions League can sometimes produce domestic league upsets in Europe,
but few could have expected the number of shocking results delivered by some of Europe's top
teams.
Barcelona suffered a shocking 2-0 home loss to newly-promoted Hercules, Manchester United gave
up two stoppage-time goals in a 3-3 draw against Everton, AC Milan felll to newly-promoted Cesena,
2-0, and AS Roma suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat against Cagilari.

Schalke and Wolfsburg, this summer's biggest spenders, start their campaigns with zero points
out of nine. Somewhat vindicates Stuttgart's austerity, who spent €30m less and still achieved
the same result. At the other end of the table, a couple of relegation or midtable bound clubs
wonder what they are doing up there.

Sevilla's Europa League Odds suffered another set-back as they lost their opening Group J game of
the tournament. The Spanish side are playing in this competition after losing to Portuguese club
Braga, in the Champions League qualifying round.
If Sevilla thought the Europa League would provide a much easier proposition then they were
mistaken.

Shinji Kagawa Nets A Brace As Dortmund Brush Schalke Aside.
The Ruhr and and Hamburg derbies came and went this weekend and were full of action. Schalke
hosted Borussia Dortmund in what is known as the Ruhr derby and Felix Magath's
Konigsblauen were once again condemned to defeat.
As we mentioned last week, the first few weeks of the Bundesliga season have
seen some surprising results, creating a table that looks like its been tossed on its head. That
trend continued this weekend when Borussia Dortmund beat Schalke
3-1 for the first time since 2007 in their local derby.
The summer signing from Japan's J-League was the star of the show in last night's Revierderby.

Lots of action this week involving WCR Top 25 Clubs. Every single one of them are in action this

the midweek matches are domestic league matches. England, Scotland, France, Russia and the
Netherlands are having midweek cup matches.

Jürgen Klopp, Trainer von Borussia Dortmund, weicht nach dem 5:0 über den 1. FC Kaiserslautern
der Frage, nach der Meisterschaft gut aus.
Shinji Kagawa Player to Watch
Foreign players coming to play in the Bundesliga usually need some time to settle to the speed
and physical play of the league. New signing Shinji Kagawa, however, looks like he was born
to play in Dortmund.
Nothing cements a player in the hearts of the Borussia Dortmund faithful more than
winning the match against hated rivals Schalke 04 in the Revierderby.
With weekend and midweek games in the Bundesliga, the prospect of being able to earn six points
in as many days would have been an appealing one to not only those clubs who have started well but
those who have struggled in the opening weeks.
The conclusion after Wednesday night's results: Mainz, Borussia
Dortmund and Wolfsburg will be pleased with earning maximum points.
