We can only speculate over what Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller said to Gerald Asamoah in the
derby match between bitter rivals Dormund and Schalke back on September 14th. While Asamoah claims
the keeper's trash talk included a reference to his color after he slammed into Weidenfeller, the
keeper claimed his slur was homophobic. Such is the idiocy of football at times.
The 33-year-old Argentinian striker adds some nasty flavor to this finish easily beating Werder
Bremen keeper Tim Wiese.
Bayern Munich isn't invincible Though it took 87 minutes on Sundays match against Hamburg to come
to this conclusion. When I read that Rafael van der Vaart couldn't play against Bayern, due to a
minor injury he picked up during training, I was worried that this could turn out to be a gifted
victory for the [...]
The fifth matchday straight from the fans YouTube and flickr accounts. Here are some impressions
from the match between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen in the Signal Iduna Park. The Southern
Stand (Südtribüne) is Europe's biggest standing terrace and packs up to 27000 fans. It's also
referred to as the Yellow Wall. Photos by the.woelfchen.
There's too much football and too little time for me to write about it. So as I get to sit down to
quickly recap the midweek action, matchday 8 is already underway. Schalke beat Berlin 1-0
yesterday, setting up a little series of three consecutive wins and clean sheets. They are still
wasting too many chances, [...]
Borussia Dortmund's Coach Thomas Doll. Hansa Rostock 0-1 Borussia Dortmund.
Unrequited rivalries can be tricky things. Remember when Birmingham were promoted to the Premier
League a few years ago after having been out of the top flight for years and played Villa for the
first time in ages? It was a hilarious match which ended with a 1-0 defeat for Villa who were
favorites to win. Needless to the say the victory starved Blue-noses were positively shrill with
glee.
Collective Sighs of Relieve Bayern Munich was held to a draw again. This time it was Schalke's turn
to proof, that Bayern Munich won't be winning each and every game by at least a three goal margin,
as some people had feared or hoped. Even Oliver Kahn is relieved that the two draws calmed down the
[...]
The Croatian striker scores two amazing goals in his side's 2-4 loss to Borussia Dortmund. The
first one is an unsaveable strike from outside of the box.
The second is a sweet volley from a shot/pass to the box. Pure class.
