From left to right: Season 1991/1992, Season 1992/1993 and Season 1993/1994. In 1992 Dortmund
finished second behind Stuttgart, followed by two fourth place finishes. In 1995 Dortmund finally
won the Bundesliga, repeated this treat in 1996 and added the Champions League title one year
later. In 1991 Ottmar Hitzfeld took charge as coach and in [.
Continuing with how to get your football fix this mid-week, we have the Swiss and the Dutch meeting
in Geneva on Wednesday. Though on paper the Netherlands look to be the superior squad, Switzerland
is playing at home and have Alexander Frei back fresh from injury.
The biggest story out of the Dutch camp is the return of Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
Arsenal star Tomas Rosicky has denied any possibility of a January switch to Inter Milan.
The Czech Repulic captain, who scored yesterday as his country qualified for the 2008 European
Championships, has been linked with Inter Milan since the Summer, when the Italian champions
proposed a loan switch for Adriano.
Inter also reportedly tried to sign Rosicky in 2005 and 2006, before Arsenal pried him away from
former club Borussia Dortmund.
aufrichten. Wir müssen uns ganz anders präsentieren in Stuttgart. Die Situation ist ernst." Au
weh! Es wird nicht besser für den BVB.
The first half of the season is officially over, and Bayern have claimed the so called
Herbstmeisterschaft (autumn championship), which doesn't mean anything and isn't won in autumn
either. But a lot in football is about psychology and weird statistics. One weird statistic says
that 87% of the teams who won the autumn championship also [.
I've tried to compile all the jerseys of all current Bundesliga clubs, so that we can judge,
whether teams that are bound to play crap and go through a disappointing season at least die in

It's a big day today. The Bundesliga finally starts into the new season, and after Greg already
gave you his fearless predictions for the Superliga, while Sam dubbed his Ligue 1 forecast
fail-proof, I decided to tell you how everything will play out in this years Bundesliga season as
well. And mind you, after I [...]
My biased preselection of this weekends greatest and worst moments, with two (or more) candidates
to choose from for each category. I may use some sort of online voting system in the future, to
make it easy for you to select your favourites. For now use the comments section to have your say
instead. Best way [...]
We can only speculate over what Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller said to Gerald Asamoah in the
derby match between bitter rivals Dormund and Schalke back on September 14th. While Asamoah claims
the keeper's trash talk included a reference to his color after he slammed into Weidenfeller, the
keeper claimed his slur was homophobic. Such is the idiocy of football at times.
Bundesliga.de recaps this weekends four best goals in a little feature. And if you need some moving
images to go along with the article, then here are the four goals in all their glory complete with
slow-motion replays. 1. Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich) 2. Mladen Petric (Borussia Dortmund) 3.
Joshua Kennedy (FC Nuremberg) 4. Marcelinho (VfL Wolfsburg)
There's been talk in England that Inter are preparing to move on Tomas Rosicky, one of Arsenal's
many young talents. It's not surprising that such an influential player is linked to Inter as they
search for Figo's replacement when he retires at the end of this season. There may be even more
haste after Nedved's [...]

Right well, since I managed to convince my VCR that it is two weeks ago, I have not been able to
watch any highlights from last week. Unless you count about half an hour of Wolfsburg's 2-1 defeat
at Munich at three o'clock last Saturday morning before passing out in a drunken stupor. I saw
enough to know that Franck had yet another corker.
This week has been all about: Friendship - or lack of. (Hertha Offside) Team mates - or lack of.

A lot has happened but fairly little has changed this weekend. And tempers were running a bit wild.

The second matchday from a fans perspective. This week focussing on the derby between Schalke 04
and Borussia Dortmund.
sei.
The 33-year-old Argentinian striker adds some nasty flavor to this finish easily beating Werder
Bremen keeper Tim Wiese.
The story of this European matchday must be England's defeat at home against Croatia. After Israel
threw them a massive lifeline on Saturday with their victory over Russia, it has now been Croatia
who returned a similar favour to the Russians. Three Bundesliga based players left their mark on
this memorable match.
Borussia Dortmund almost pulled off a Werder Bremenesque 8-1 against Arminia Bielefeld on Friday.
But even their 6-1 Roger Federer score made for an entertaining game. And it's even better if you
happen to have a passionate South American pundit providing the commentary.

Da läuft was ganz ganz Großes!

Bayern Munich isn't invincible Though it took 87 minutes on Sundays match against Hamburg to come
to this conclusion. When I read that Rafael van der Vaart couldn't play against Bayern, due to a
minor injury he picked up during training, I was worried that this could turn out to be a gifted
victory for the [...]
The fifth matchday straight from the fans YouTube and flickr accounts. Here are some impressions
from the match between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen in the Signal Iduna Park. The Southern
Stand (Südtribüne) is Europe's biggest standing terrace and packs up to 27000 fans. It's also
referred to as the Yellow Wall. Photos by the.woelfchen.
There's too much football and too little time for me to write about it. So as I get to sit down to
quickly recap the midweek action, matchday 8 is already underway. Schalke beat Berlin 1-0
yesterday, setting up a little series of three consecutive wins and clean sheets. They are still
wasting too many chances, [...]
I had already started covering a tiny bit (the Friday night match bit) of this matchday in a
previous post, and some sad news came out of Berlin's 1-0 defeat to Schalke. Lucio, one of Berlin's
most promising summer signings, twisted his knee so badly that his cruciate knee ligaments, patella
tendon and meniscus were [...]

Dortmund have had a rotten time of it lately. Their Champion's league success of the late nineties
under Otto Hitzfeld came at a terrible price. After the collapse of the Kirsch media group, who
held the Bundesliga TV rights, the league was left in financial disarray with Dortmund one of the
worse off. The high wages that came with a successful squad meant Dortmund have spent much of the
There are two questions to this game: why did BVB hold the mighty Bayern to a nil draw; and why did
BVB lose two points?
For the former, we need to look at the tactics. That's not such a bad thing,
seeing as I title this column "tactical analysis". With Franck Ribery out due to injury and the
General unwilling to listen to me, even though I am a genius (my mother has reassured me), Bayern
went with a 4-4-2, with Ze Roberto and Van Bommel lying deep with Schweinsteiger and Sosa
patrolling the wings to link up with Klose and Toni.
I'm not one for goal clips on Youtube (or Yowtube as its called in the Black Country) . Often times
I find the quality understandably poor and, as a Setanta UK subscriber (or at least it came bundled
with my cable package), I know that I need only wait until Wednesdays when Bundesliga Highlights is
shown at ten o clock on Setenta 1.
