AC Milan will be looking to put behind them their disastrous weekend outing when they host
Juventus at the San Siro tonight in the Coppa Italia first leg semi-final. With Juventus also
having settled for a similar barren draw with Siena in the weekend, the match will definitely be an
explosive one.

All the wrongs in the world would be righted if we could honestly claim late night frivolity
responsibilities for Marco Borriello's puffy eyes.
Oh, the scenes, sounds and smartphone-recorded proof.
Le sigh.
Don't be misled, people. Despite Marco Borriello's innovative approach to legwear, Roma's Christmas
party was not fancy dress. Luckily, other players performed marginally better in the fash stakes,
as you can see here. Image via tumblr.
The party spirit has certainly overwhelmed Marco Borriello in this photo, and we must confess to
spending a little too much time practicing for our own 'do this week, too.
Keep calm and read on, Kickettes. Image Credit: AP.
Sadly, it was anything but quiet on the news front for us this past weekend, but as always,
we're ready and willing to help you bounce back into work action.

Our adored crop of matrimony-allergic 'ballers are dropping like flies, Kickettes.
And Marco Borriello appears to be the next wedding vow victim victor.
During an appearance on RAI's "Il Più Grande Spettacolo Dopo Il Weekend" recently, host
Fiorello was joking about some supermodel guest and asked Marco if he was free to introduce the
person.
Luís Enrique teve um currículo invejável enquanto atleta, tendo representado os dois colossos do
futebol espanhol sempre a alto nível.

Marco Borriello is set to be sold off by Roma, despite the striker only signing for the Italian
giants in June with Liverpool interested, according to reports in Italy.
Following a loan spell with the club last season, Borriello put pen to a deal worth €4.5 million
per year at the Olympic Stadium.

Often I view the end of the European soccer season as a silly time, because every player with
any talent (and some without) are rumored to be acquired by one club or another. This speculation
extends to MLS because the league has shown that it is capable of developing talent and playing a
high level of soccer.
This Sunday is the last match-week in the 2010-2011 Serie A season but the fates of most of the
Italian sides are already known. At the top of the table, Milan has secured the Scudetto while
Inter and Napoli are assured spots in the Champions League. At the bottom of the table, Sampdoria,
Brescia, and Bari will be relegated to Serie B for the 2011-2012 season.
Next up, episode 18 and the dream of Champions League qualification with that fourth spot in
Italian Serie A still up for grabs and in sight of our Roman gladiators. But wait, no Daniele De
Rossi and Simone Perrotta for the final three games oh dear. The boys talk Milan match preview,
Totti penalty magic and Greg is tested on his Borriello and twilight series knowledge.
Where would we be without the Italian tabloids' blurry photos that routinely spread the grainy
fruits of the Serie A gossip mill's labour? Our skin would certainly be free of stress-fueled
breakouts, for one thing. Our fingernails and toes would definitely be maintained during the winter
and summer, that's for sure.

Two juicy soundbites emerged today from Italy. Admittedly, one was from Facebook, and since that
merely exists in a hypothetical cloud, it's not exactly from Italy, but both concern players'
compatibility. Giuseppe Rossi? So compatible he could have his own Match.com. Marco Borriello?
Not so much.
And what do we have here, USMNT captain Carlos Bocanegra? Our guess is a flash mob for the 'Men

Saturday
- Good news came from the Nou Camp ahead of our always needed work-day reprieve: Barcelona
defender/French international Éric Abidal returned home to rest after undergoing emergency surgery
to remove a tumor from his liver.
The Italian national team did play yesterday, pulling off a comfortable 1-0 win away against
Slovenia- the first time Gli Azzurri had ever won away there. Cesare Prandelli's rebuilding
continues along a smooth pace, with more answers than questions being delivered. The Italian
newspapers can only talk about that one game for so long, for so many pages, however, and the
subsequent result is massive, massive amounts of transfer talk.
Rigore, as penalty kicks are known in Italy, are games of luck. A well-aimed kick has a much better
chance of going in than being saved by the goalie, who often must take a literal leap of faith
before the ball is even struck. For Roma, however, there is of course more to the story. Claudio
Pizarro has proven that he has the bottle to take a decisive spot kick when it matters.
Roma are out of the Champions League after losing 3-0 to Shakhtar in a freezing night in
Donetsk.
It was always going to be a tough task for Roma to overcome a 3-2 deficit from the first leg,
especially against a side that has not lost at home for 55 games.
But even after Hubschman made it 1-0 with a backheel following Willan's cross from the left,
Roma still had chances to get back into the tie and got earned a penalty for a push on Borriello,
but the ex-Milan striker's spot kick was too close to the keeper Pyatov who saved well.
I am very grateful for ESPN3. With great consistency i can follow Roma. But this year has been
brutally cruel in its teasing nature of gaining big leads only to loose them. Parma repeated the
act today down 2-0. Amuari's brilliant back heal flick made it 2-1.He followed that up flicking
home a Hernan Crespo created rebound to tie the game at 2-2.

Like the 'chicken or the egg' theory, we face a conundrum here, Kickettes.
Shall we be the bearers of blasphemous bulletins and admit defeat first or soften the blow with
some positive peace of mind?
Instead of wasting our time trying to decide, we went with our guts and own personal affinity
for being the "good news first" kinda girls.

The second day of Champions League knockout action is about to start, with the Ukrainian side
sitting tops of their league (having won it last season) while Roma have been smacked around of
late, dropping to 8th position a full thirteen points off the lead in the Serie A.
Scot Munroe presents Team of the Week for match-day 21. Formation 4-2-3-1 Goalkeeper - Julio Cesar
(Inter) Even though he conceded 3 goals against Roma at the weekend, he actually pulled of some
unbelievable saves to deny both Borriello and Menez. Right Back - Maicon (Inter) Was very
impressive and was very direct with his play on the attack, he constantly ran at Fabio Simplicio
and John Arne.
MILAN, Italy Internazionale continue to close the gap on neighbours AC at the top of the Serie A

Juventus' winless streak is now up to four as they lost 2-1 at Palermo, dropping them to eighth
place in Serie A and in real danger of not playing in Europe next season.
Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Miccoli put Palermo in front seven minutes in with a shot under
the legs of Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, then Giulio Migliaccio doubled the lead in the 20th
minute with a header off a corner.
Apparently, they missed each other too. Bless! (Getty Images/Daylife)
Has something been missing from your life over the last few weeks? Have you found your mind
drifting to thoughts of designer stubble, flying helmest, pigtails and inappropriately over the top
displays of manlove while you're idly choosing yet another choccie from the selection box you
‘liberated' from an elderly and slightly infirm family member?
