So, now that the 2010/11 La Liga season is over, it's time to look back and pick out some of the standout performers of the last nine months. However, in a cunning twist, I have decided that it would be far more interesting if we just ignored everyone that plays for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Two first-half goals from captain Francesco Totti helped Roma beat Fiorentina 4-2 at Stadio Olimpico today and move above the Viola and city rivals Lazio into fourth place in Serie A.

Leandro Castan put Roma in front in the seventh minute, but Facundo Roncaglia levelled seven minutes later.

Villareal midfielder Borja Valero has had his 3 game ban reduced to 2 following his red card v Odense in last months Champions League qualifier.

Valero whos Zidane like head-butt seen him red carded will only receive the extra game suspension should he reoffend in his 2 year probation period.
