Getting this update out early this week due to the holiday. All the games from tonight will be on
next week's update. Boris Pardo is currently out of the country with the US Futsal national team as
the back up goalkeeper to his Comets teammate, Danny Waltman. The US is 1-1 losing to Panama and
beating Canada.
Wanted to share some shots from Thursday. They played a full squad, full field scrimmage in the
second half of practice. Boris Pardo stopping Davy's breakaway on goal...Kevin Souter has started
scrimmaging. He played a little while in the game with Creighton and played the whole scrimmage
today. He looked a little tentative the other day but looked much more comfortable today.
A few minutes before Sporting KC kicks off tonight, here is your former SKC Wizards update. Real
quick, congrats to Boris Pardo on being named to the US Soccer Futsal team.

This week's former SKC Wizards update is available for you. The European leagues are starting to
wind down for the year, while the US leagues are really kicking into gear. In indoor news, two
former players were called up to the US Futsal national team. Boris Pardo, currently of the
Missouri Comets, and Pat Healey were both called in for a camp as they prepare for the CONCACAF
Fustal championships.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates, a day late due to last night's game. First,
congratulations to Boris Pardo who has re-signed with the Comets. Here's the rest of the
update.

Here's this week's former Wizards update. Lots of goings on outside of on the field action. First,
former Wizards, and one of the team leaders in games played, Chris Klein is set to retire from
professional soccer at the end of the season. He spent most of his career with the Wizards before
moving on to Salt Lake and then LA.
The Missouri Comets announced two more signings today for their team, both with ties to Kansas City
and both should ring bells in the minds of soccer fans in this city. First the Comets have signed
former Wizards goalkeeper, and Juniors goalkeeper coach, Boris Pardo. Pardo currently is likely to
be the back up for Danny Waltman, who the Comets signed earlier this year.
I talked with Boris yesterday before it was announced that he and Nate Houser were the latest two
players to sign. Boris is a very good goalie who is extremely strong with his feet. He is very
capable of playing in the field if needed and would be a great goalie to have on the power play or
in a sixth attacker situation.
Talked with Coach Roentved after day 1 of the tryout...Former Wizards keeper and current Wizards
Junior Coach Boris Pardo making a save...Joshua Schreck making a save. Schreck played for the
Kansas City Kings and looked comfortable there...Pardo coming out of the box to defend. Boris
looked good in goal and out of it.
Today was the draw for the first round of the US Open Cup this year. Local USASA club, the KC
Athletics are the only local team that has qualified for this year's competition. The Athletics
will begin their first trip into the US Open Cup on June 15th up at the National Sports Center in
Blaine, MN against NSC Minnesota Stars.
Quite a bit of player news from the Wizards today involving different players coming to and leaving
Kansas City. First the Wizards have signed one of their latest trialists to a contract. While the
rumors had been that Sunil Chhetri would be signing with KC, he's not the latest signing. Instead
it's Craig Rocastle, the midfielder who came into camp around the same time as Chhetri.
It took more than it probably should have, but the KC Wizards advanced to the quarterfinals of the
US Open Cup after their penalty kick win over the Minnesota Thunder last night. Coach Onalfo made 9
changes to the lineup that started on Sunday against Santos Laguna. The only hold overs were Lance
Watson and Roger Espinoza.
We have the second-ever Dog's Night at the Wizards coming up on May** 23 as Chivas USA comes to
town. In order to purchase tickets for a dog, you must fill out an order form and fax/mail or hand
deliver to our office along with the dog's latest vaccination information. For more information on
the event and to obtain the order form, visit www.
Similar to the Latino Barnstorming Tour we staged last year at three different places in one day,
we will be taking Spanish-speaking players and Coach Onalfo to various businesses in Hispanic
communities throughout this season. The first event is coming up.
The Wizards closed out their time in Mexico with a 0-0 draw with Salamanca FC's first team today in
Mexico. KC put out a very likely first team, minus Boris Pardo, who played the entire game in net.
Like the friendly against Chivas earlier in their trip, the Wizards made only limited
substitutions.
The Wizards reserves made it a clean sweep this weekend for the Wizards. One night after the first
team beat Chivas USA 3-2, the reserves came out today and beat Rockhurst University 4-0 in a
friendly game. The Rockhurst team while having Rockhurst players on it, also had some players from
other schools as well.
I was a little busy the last few days and did not get these interviews posted when I should have. I
still wanted to share them...Byron Alvarez after the narrow home loss to BaltimoreThese interviews

The Missouri Comets probably played their worst game so far and remain winless at home. While the
team was able to control the ball and were able to get into the attack well, they were unable to
consistently finish. The bigger problem was the defensive breakdowns that resulted in 2 on 1's, 1
on 1's with the keeper and unmarked players at the back post.
I just wanted to share a few more photos from yesterday. The rest can be found here...Coach
Pascarella has a way of turning the keepers upside down...With so many languages spoken in camp,

Hey everyone. Great to see some of our western fans out at Abe and Jake's last night. The event
went off great, and I know that everyone had a good time. Tyson Wahl, Boris Pardo, Eric Kronberg
and Amir Lowery represented the players well in some foosball and enjoyed a VIP-style evening.
Check out the pictures below to see what you missed or look for yourself.

Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. I got some updated information on Zoltan Hercegfalvi, who is apparently playing in an Austrian amateur league at this point. And congratulations to Boris Pardo, who has become a nesting doll thanks to the give away at the Comets game on Sunday.

Hillcrest made it out to training today for the first time in 2009. It was a fairly nice day, so
that was a pleasant surprise. The guys started with the usual fitness warm up then a
passing/keep-away drill for the field players and catching drills for the goalies. New goalkeeper
coach John Pascarella was there watching the 'keepers first hand for one of the first times.
