As was previously stated here (okay, I was off by a little bit), it looks like Ben Olsen is
going to hang up his boots. Although it could have been easily guessed that his time was running
out, Olsen has decided that either pain or other considerations have made it undesirable to
continue his career.

Nike is a relative newcomer to the boot game. What Nike has lacked in substance they've usually
made up in style. Their autumn ad campaign channels Irvine Welsh's finest prose by asking us to
choose;Â choose control, choose speed, choose accuracy, choose touch or choose 5-a-side. I chose
control, specifically Nike's CTR360 Trequartista AG.

So the club yesterday confirmed Robin van Persie's injury and the prognosis that he'd be out for
around 6 weeks. Now that it's official we can all run around and panic, throwing our hands up in
the air like sometimes we feel like doing. I know, I know.
What did emerge yesterday is that Robin is set to try a revolutionary new treatment, apparently
with the blessing of the club, whereby he'll travel to Serbia to have his ankle massaged with
placenta fluid.

Mauricio Pellegrino today acclaimed the leadership qualities of Rafa Benitez during a difficult
start to the 2009-10 campaign.
The first-team coach, who played under Benitez at Valencia and Liverpool, describes him as a man
who stays calm amid the storm.
And Pellegrino is confident his boss is building a team capable of dominating English football
despite a dip in form this term.

Man United midfielder
Luis Nani has said something that he really
should have. Speaking to a Portuguese newspaper called ‘I', Nani has criticized manager
Sir
Alex Ferguson and that really isn't a good idea.
Since joining Man United in 2007, Nani hasn't really broken into the first team, he has had some
really good performances and some really bad ones.

Brazilians. He thought he would give Luke Young a quick phone-call and tell him to go get his kit
and boots. Nobody says no to an England call up (unless you are Jamie Boo-Hoo Carragher) However
the Villain [.

'sorry? (...) yeah shut the **** up.'
That wasn't really what I was expecting to be honest. Despite notable absences from the
Sunderland side, and to a certain extent a lack of bite in our midfield today's game was one that
we won't be forgetting for a while. It's safe to say that it was somewhat of an aggressive affair
with both sides putting boots where perhaps they shouldn't have been and this incision found its
way into the general scheme of play.

Some advance warning: This post is going to be mildly critical of Zinedine Zidane.
Nothing too harsh, because as for many people he was one of my favourite players to watch. The
vision, the touch, the roulettes, the shiny bald patch. Loved it. But that's also the reason I'm
about to mildly criticize him.

You know there's only one thing to talk about in this photo, right? And it ain't how gorgeous
Mrs. Gerrard is looking though she is looking completely foxy.
It's the boots.
Do you love or do you hate? Our shins are getting sweaty just looking at them. We would,
frankly, rather go barefoot.

David Beckham queues up to buy some pumpkins; still has that animal growing on his face.
Are Ilary and Francesco going to bring another beautiful Totti baby into the world?

Antonio Valencia's impact on the team has hardly been spectacular since his £16 million summer
move from Wigan. But what a difference a goal can make. Well, two actually, and in back to back
games to boot.
Goals breed confidence, and if Valencia is short of a little confidence, his latest performances
in a United shirt will go some way to building it up.

Nemanja Vidic has praised Antonio Valencia following the two winning goals he has scored in our
past two matches.
Vidic reckons the pressure of filling Cristiano Ronaldo's boots had a negative effect on our
winger but now we can expect to see more and more great things from Valencia.
"At the beginning of the season, Antonio had some difficulties because he was bought to
replace Cristiano Ronaldo," said Vidic.

Henrik Larsson, the once ageless wonder who'd begun to show plenty of age, has finally decided to

So Saturday was a bit of a surprise wasn't it? Bolton played the best they have in a long while,
and arguably outplayed Spurs, who have been a quality side so far this season. If you read my match
preview, I wasn't very optimistic for this match, I said we might sneak away with a draw. However
it was Tottenham who were lucky to get a point.

My new Barcelona away jersey turned up today.
I ummed and arred over this while we were out there in the summer, but ultimately the Barca club
shop got a bit much (crowds, prices, merchandise, merchandise, merchandise) and I left empty
handed.
Which was a shame, as for reasons I can't fully explain, I do really like the new away
shirt.
