During last night's 5-0 win over Fulham, Manchester United fans took the opportunity to let Luis
Suarez know what they thought of him after the FA have found him guilty of racially abusing Patrice
Evra.
Meanwhile, up in Wigan, Liverpool fans were singing the original song, which was met with boos
from the home fans.
All indications are that England boss Fabio Capello is about to name John Terry as England's
‘permanent' captain.
Capello is quoted in this morning's newspapers as saying
"I think after one year of punishment that is enough for a mistake," he said. "‘For this
reason, I need to make a decision about this problem.

From a first half that deserved the boos to a second half that we all hope is a harbinger of the
future—what was the difference? Said Carlos Ruiz, "The difference between the first half and the
second half was we were more compact in the second half. That was the key to win the game."
Or was it something else?
So, earlier today, the CL play-off draw took place
While I'm pretty sure most of us were hoping for some nice Odense action and praying to avoid the
dark, cold depths of Kazan, the reality resulted, as it is always, somewhere in the middle.
Arsenal got Udinese Calcio in today's draw for the CL play-offs, with the matches to be played
on August 16/17 and the return legs to be played a week later.
The Offside's Phil Pierson was on hand for today's MLS SuperDraft, held at the Convention Center
Ballroom in Baltimore, Maryland. Several very talented young players were up for grabs, and with
two new teams in the mix and thousands of supporters on hand, Baltimore was the capital of the
American soccer world for at least a day.
ROTTERDAM The agony of Feyenoord Rotterdam does not end. Today, a new chapter was added to the
story of the declining club. Three days after the hopeless 2-0 defeat at Ajax, the fans saw De
Graafschap was too strong: 0-1. "Shame on you, shame on you', rolled it from the angry stands. The

Sunday afternoon at Stamford Bridge, and a chorus of cheers from the Chelsea crowd greets Steve
Clarke, Liverpool's first team coach. A former Chelsea man, and assistant to Jose Mourinho in those
heady days of Premiership titles and Champions League finals, the reception he received was
befitting of a man who had help to guide Chelsea to the successful period in their history.
Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that when he was Chelsea boos that he asked Roman Abramovich to
sell Didier Drogba.
In an interview with TB Arena Sport TV earlier this week, Scolari admitted he had a tough time
man managing Drogba.
"Drogba believed he was the star in the squad and I did have conflicts with him.
There were several worthy nominees for MLS Player of the Week this week, but no player showed
off a more impressive display of skill than Sporting Kansas City's Teal Bunbury, who earned SBI's
MLS Player of the Week honors after scoring a pair of amazing goals.
Facing the Vancouver Whitecaps in front of a hostile crowd still angry at his decision to play
for the United States instead of Canada, Bunbury silenced the boos with a pair of stunning strikes
that helped SKC jump out to a 3-0 lead.

WASHINGTON - With each passing game, Charlie Davies makes it harder and harder for D.C. United
coach Ben Olsen to keep him on the bench.
Davies' remarkable comeback story saw another notable chapter written Saturday, as the D.

Those who high-tailed it out of BMO Field at halftime for their favorite pub to watch the UEFA
Champions League final might have wished they'd stuck around. Or not.
Had those fans stayed, they would have seen the most goals for a single team in MLS this season
to date, and the most combined goals for two teams in MLS in 2011.
Charlton's Academy serving the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United -
originally posted on Soccerlens.com
As a Charlton fan, the recent news about Carl Jenkinson's move to Arsenal has led me to consider
the impressive standard of the Charlton Athletic Academy. With the first team about to embark on
their third attempt to get out of League One, the academy itself still seems to mix with the
established Premiership outfits.
Well, what can you say about Saturday night's lost to the Columbus Crew?
If you're first thought was a string of curse words or nothing positive, I'm right there with
you. That wasn't just bad, that was awful...just awful. I don't want to be overly negative
(shocking I know) because at this point, what good is it going to do.
The Talent Scout on... Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe
In the latest installment of his new series on the game's hottest talents, Jamie Sanderson runs
the rule over Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe. *** Lost amid the boos and frustrations of Arsenal's
1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls yesterday, Arsene Wenger rolled out the latest graduate from
his never-ending production line of talent.
Its been 13 long months with plenty of goals, twists-and-turns, boos, surprises, rants as well as
media out-roars, but at last the 12 nations who will be partaking in next summer's Euros have been
finalized, and the eight teams who will vie for four more spots via the play-offs is now known.
There have admittedly [.
I'm proud of the team today.
An Arsenal side composed mostly of our youth players and our second string benchwarmers did much
better than anybody expected, outplaying a "reserve" Man City side that still had the likes of
Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero, Johnson, and De Jong on the pitch and which likely cost more to assemble than
15 first XI's in the EPL.
Aston Villa boos disappoint Liverpool's Stewart Downing
Liverpool midfielder Stewart Downing is pleased with his team's performance in the 2-0 win at
Villa Park but disappointed by the reaction of some Aston Villa fans on his return to the club he
left for Anfield in the summer.
It was billed as a match in which the losing manager would get fired, and if that is the case
then it will be a much happier Christmas in the Coyle household this season than the Kean one as
Bolton beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in a relegation six pointer.
The result means Blackburn replace Bolton at the foot of the Premier League, and Rovers will be
bottom at Christmas with only one team avoiding relegation from that position.
Venky's plan to end the boos in spectacular fashion Blackburn have launched a bid to sign AC Milan
star Ronaldinho. The deal would see the Brazilian pocket £20 million over the course of a
three-year contract. The news is only just breaking so we'll have more to follow, but given that
Sam Allardyce apparently left [.

When Ayr United took to the field dressed in black on Saturday, pessimistic Hibs fans might have
felt that here was the Grim Reaper ready to finish off what was left of their miserable season.
Certainly Hibs started the game at a funereal pace that never threatened to enliven the 5000 or so
home fans who had turned out.
As Newcastle United got the game underway, accompanied by a chorus of boos from the bitter
residents of the more underdeveloped side of the North East, I have to admit that I had some slight
trepidation about this game. The Mackems were deperate for revenge after their comprehensive 5-1
humiliation at St James's Park, and [.

the AFF Cup the Indonesian FA have decided to play their Olympic Game Qualifier against
Turkmenistan on 23 February at the Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang.
The PSSI say they have taken the passion of the fans in Palembang and the weather into account.
Sorry, no match report.
Everything kicked off for an hour after a foul by M Ridhuan left a Persib player on the deck. For
some reason Noh Alam Shah got involved. To be fair NAS gets involved in everything. If he saw two
cats arguing in the street he'd get involved. Cue haraunguing of the ref and then the fans got
involved.
ROME, Italy - AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri was left to fight off loud boos and speculation his
days at the club are numbered after an embarrassing 3-2 home defeat by Champions League knockout

Record Irish goalscorer Robbie Keane is a doubt for Ireland's Euro 2012 qualifier against
Macedonia on March 26th, as he recovers from a calf injury.
Keane's participation in the Ireland squad is ‘touch and go' as it is estimated that the crucial
qualifier may come a week before Keane gets the all clear to resume playing.

He's had fans demonstrating against him for so long he hardly ever attends games anymore. The

Aston Villa and Gerard Houllier The Incompatible Match? is a post from: Just Football
With time fast running out Aston Villa find their Premier League status in very real danger
at the minute. Joe Sharratt explains:
Nervously rocking on his heels, with shoulders hunched forward and speaking so quietly his words
were barely audible, Gerard Houllier cut a sad figure as he bumbled his way
through the post match press conference.

I read with interest Craig Bellamy's comments before the England Wales game the other week.
Although I don't like the irritating little bugger I thought this quote may shine some light on our
recent performances.
"Are England players scared?
I hear this phrase a lot: "The best reffed game is the one where the ref is never noticed."
Arrrrrgh! That phrase is so very very very wrong. You don't hear it as much when it comes to
experienced referees, but I still hear it a lot when it comes to new refs, be it soccer or roller
derby (especially roller derby, because that sport is so young).
Logan Pause and Cory Gibbs will be out for Saturday's game against Colorado. Pause's absence
makes you - wait for it - think about who will be captain. Who do you think should be captain?
Let's talk about the contenders after the break.
Jon Conway
Jon Conway is the oldest player on the team.
Before the match against Sporting Kansas City, I wrote with great joy five reasons why the
Whitecaps would defeat Kansas City. Yet, when the match started things weren't looking as positive
as I had tried to make them out to be. And when the Whitecaps found themselves 1-0 down right
before halftime, things were not looking good.
Scotland officials have denied Brazilian forward Neymar was the victim of racist abuse during the
friendly match between the two teams at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Neymar told reporters after the game that a banana was thrown on the pitch in his direction and
that he was the target for racist chants during Brazil's 2-0 victory over Craig Levein's side.
West Ham United continue to blow the bubbles of drowning men, wrote David Lacey in the Guardian.
Any relief at having avoided a home defeat by Blackburn Rovers was soon overtaken by the
realisation that they now have to win their remaining two matches to have any chance of staying up,
and only once this season have Avram Grant's side won back-to-back games in the
Premier League.

Part 1.
Home Crowd – When, oh when, will they learn just how important it is for our
players to have their supporters fully behind them? Our home crowd seem to be stuck in the
thinking that the team needs to entertain them in order for them to show their real support,
whereas I believe that if they gave unabashed support throughout the game then maybe the team would
react positively instead of reacting negatively to the silence followed by moans and groans and
boos.

Well, the Houston Dynamo are going to Washington but I couldn't resist shoehorning that headline
in this season.
It's been a tough week for Dynamo fans in the wake of last weekend's home debacle against the
Columbus Crew. Virtually all the positives energy and hopes for the season have drained away after
Houston resumed their struggles after a one-week reprieve thanks to Chivas USA.
On Saturday, I was all ready to go. The Rose Bowl, site of the Gold Cup final, would host
90,000-plus fans and I'd be there to give as much of a full account as possible. With A.C. blogging
away even before we got to the stadium, I was also set on providing my own inside info, complete
with pictures and descriptions.
