In the weeks leading up to his return to Major League Soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy, David
Beckham claimed he was prepared for a hostile reception from some fans upon his return to the Home
Depot Center. But judging by his actions in Sunday night's 2-2 draw against AC Milan - the team
that he left MLS for nine months ago - Beckham hadn't expected the reaction to be quite so
negative, especially from the team's most hardcore fans.
Galaxy 2 AC Milan 2
This game petered out after the two second half goals as one might expect, with AC Milan
satisfied to share the spoils and the Galaxy with both Landon Donovan and David Beckham subbed out
by game's end never likely to muster enough creativity to score a winner.
Carlos Tevez took his time leaving the pitch after he was substituted today, waving at all the
stands. The decision to sub him off was met with boos from all around Old Trafford and as Sir Alex
Ferguson gave his speech at the end, the Stretford End sang over the top of him, telling him to
sign Tevez up.

Beckham's return to Los Angeles was met by a galaxy of boos. Expect to see Beckham playing for
anyone in the Premier League within three months. It was an important moment for American
soccer.
Stephen Hunt ignores Chelsea boos to score the first Premier League of the season only for
Didier Drogba to score a couple to help Carlo Ancelotti's side to a hard earned three points.

The Los Angeles Galaxy are finally in playoff contention for the first time since signing
English star David Beckham. The midfielder joined the team in the middle of the season after
finishing his load with Serie A side AC Milan. The question is how has Beckham done with the LA
Galaxy since returning and his effect on Major League Soccer.
It may still only be October but should Liverpool lose to Manchester United on Sunday their
title challenge will effectively be over. They've already lost four times in the league this
season and boss Rafael Benitez's woes continued in midweek when French outfit Lyon pulled off a
surprise 2-1 victory at Anfield.
USA soccer boss, Alexi Lalas, announced that David Beckham will be booed on his return to LA
Galaxy. This is an important moment of maturation for American soccer. It proves the fans at the
Galaxy believe that their club is bigger than "the man." Many Galaxy fans don't want
Becks back. His slow play is [.
Another game, another controversy. Major League Soccer's eighth round of matches is now in the
books and the leading headline coming out of the weekend - once again - is another disastrous
performance turned in by a league official, a storyline that has been repeated far too often in
2009. Making things worse, the referee in question has been at the center of no less than three
such firestorms already this season.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor blasted Arsenal fans for not providing enough support during a
difficult season, adding they should stop booing their own players.
Speaking on Football Focus, he said:
It is not nice when I was playing at home and I was getting booed by my own fans.
Remember if you have any questions for the players or coaches, post here before halftime and I will
do what I can.

The above picture isn't of David Beckham at Pizza Hut Park, or staring at a pocket of Chivas USA
fans during a playing of the Home Depot Clasico.
Whilst Becks was busy confronting another fan and dealing with the incessant boos, Claudio
Lopez, the former Lazio and Valencia man, produced the type of finish that David has long since
forgotten how to pull off!

Pretty entertaining game tonight from the Rose Bowl where the Galaxy played Barcelona in the
first game of the new phase of Euro preseason in USA. Barcelona won 2-1 in front of a 93,200+
person crowd.
The biggest story out of this game has to be David Beckham winning some support from fans
(albeit, not in their home stadium) through an impressive free kick goal and a good all around
effort.
The Manchester derby was an enthralling affair providing us with one of the games of the season.
The momentum ebbed and flowed between the two teams throughout as both searched for the upper hand
on the other. Before kick off we were greeted with the news Carlos Tevez would start, which added
even more spice to the game.
Ireland didn't get to the World Cup, but Irish fans have a new champion in the form of
Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron.
South African Charlize hosted the World Cup draw in front of millions of viewers across the globe
last night, and made her feelings clear on France contesting the World Cup.
Galaxy 0 RSL 2
No late comeback for the Galaxy tonight. It's the first Galaxy loss in 10 games.
It's the first road win for RSL (4-6-3) since September 27, 2008.
They now leapfrog the Galaxy (2-2-9) to move into fifth in the Western Conference on goal
difference.
I was surprised to see just how worked up some Dynamo fans got over referee Jair Marrufo calling a
water break in the first half of Saturday's 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake. The boos raining down
the stands were...
How dare you, America! Becks was booed by a small section of fans during last night's friendly
between LA Galaxy and NT Red Bulls. No biggie though - the boos were to be expected, and it was
hardly the cacophony you'd...
Is anyone surprised that Beckham got all pissy last night after he was coldly welcomed by to Los
Angeles by Galaxy supporters? He probably cried about it later that night in his mega-million
dollar mansion.

You have to wonder why this guy doesn't understand that when you "commit" to a club and it's fans,
then force a loan for selfish reasons that causes you to miss over half the season, then come back
and again "commit" to a club and it's fans, you won't generally be treated well.
It was always going to be an interesting game. David Beckham's first game of the season against
the team he played for this winter. Would the Galaxy fans embrace Beckham or would they be upset at
how he treated them and MLS this winter?
From the banners around the sold-out Home Depot Center it was pretty apparent before kick-off
how the Galaxy fans felt.
Cheating bastard.
From The Chelsea Blog: Three minutes later and the boos were ringing around Wembley although
whether they were for the departing Mikel or Ballack coming on, it's hard to tell since neither of
them have ever endeared themselves to our opponents. And Ballack was about to cement that fact as
he first went to ground far too easily, earning a free-kick from the slightest brush of Evra's
shoulder.
From today's training session here in scorching hot South Florida:
"My career is in Mexico, my team is in Mexico,
I have been there since I was 16 years old and now I am on the other
side with the US national team. I think it is going to be a great
game, playing against Mexico in Mexico.
Years or injuries, seldom a heart failure or illness can move football player away from
professional football. So the news about Ipswich Town reserve keeper, Shane Supple, healthy as a
horse and has just signed the contract with the team from Portman Road, retiring at the age of 22
sounded strange.
Take back your boos, England fans Arsenal striker Eduardo has had his two-match ban for an alleged
dive in the Champions League qualifier against Celtic reversed. Uefa has performed a U-turn stating
that they could not prove that the Croatian international had deliberately deceived the referee
after the Gunners appealed.
It was an eerie moment. Genuinely creepy. The BBC television interviewer had asked Roy Keane a
pretty hapless question on the subject of whether he would stay on after his team's latest defeat
in the Championship against Barnsley, and Keane, perhaps unsurprisingly, refused to answer it. The
key to this exchange, however, was not in what he said.
The Evening News asked 'what's wrong with United?' yesterday, claiming we weren't firing on all
cylinders. It's odd because United usually start the season so well...
We of course knew that like most things concerning our football club for the past few years,
this season would be all about Cristiano Ronaldo, regardless of the fact we claimed £80 million
for him in the summer.
Denial
Although Real Madrid needed five goals to overturn their Round of 32 tie with Alcorcón, a
certain sense of denial was important in this particular situation so that they could believe that
their task was not impossible. Kaká stated, "For the pride and for the history of Real Madrid,
we have to win this tie.
Galaxy 2 Colorado 3
A total of 16,709 at Home Depot Center watched the Galaxy remain winless on the season, the
Rapids' Conor Casey nailing the second hat trick of his career with the club.
Boos rang out around the Home Depot Center as the final whistle blew (were they aimed at the ref
or the Galaxy?
Carlos Tevez has dominated the newspapers this week - only the split of celeb couple Katie
Price and Peter Andre being afforded more column inches.
Tevez has had a lot to say about his footballing future, on and off the field. He has been
quoted as saying he feels he has been "treated badly" by United, and that he has been shown "a lack
of respect".
Chief executive David Gill has said he expects Manchester United to have an answer on the future
of Carlos Tevez in June.
The Argentina international fired a parting shot at Old Trafford officials on Saturday in an
interview with Argentinian station TYC when he accused the newly-crowned Premier League champions
of lacking respect, adding he had been "badly treated" over his desire to win an extension to his
two-year loan arrangement.
Norway 0 - 0 Macedonia
"It will be boring as shit for the first hour," predicted Drillo ahead of the game and well, he
wasn't wrong. Unfortunately his other prediction that it could get more interesting after that
first hour proved wide of the mark. That's not entirely true actually - as Macedonia started
throwing bodies forward the game was upgraded from "life-threateningly dull" to just "very
dull".

One of the challenges of following the Red Bulls in New York is the mainstream sports media's lack
of team coverage. In a down year like this one, compounded with shrinking staffs at the city's
daily papers, regular news about NYRB is scarce, and getting scarcer. The New York Times has
stopped sending reporters to home matches years ago, choosing to pick up wire reports instead.
The following story and exclusive interview comes to us courtesy of our good friends MLS Daily.
In the weeks leading up to his return to Major League Soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy, David
Beckham claimed he was prepared for a hostile reception from some fans upon his return to the Home

David Moyes appears to have lost the battle to keep Joleon at the club.
MANCHESTER CITY expect to finally land Everton centre-back Joleon Lescott today.
The England defender could even be unveiled to fans at City's Eastlands open day this
afternoon.
Mark Hughes has trailed Lescott, 26, since January with Goodison chief David Moyes insisting the
player was not for sale.

Chelsea players were jeered yesterday after fans who had turned up to watch an open
training session were denied the chance to get autographs from them. Over 8,000 Chelsea supporters
were at Stamford Bridge to see Joe Cole complete his first training session on his return from
injury but the party atmosphere went sour when the crowd was told players would not be signing
autographs due to "security concerns".
It's not often I'm happy to see Man United win, and while a draw yesterday in the Man City derby
would have been a better result for Arsenal, the fact that Man U won 4-3 meant I was £150 richer
for the sake of a £1 bet and Mark Hughes now knows how it feels when the officials fuck up and it
costs you the game.
