Bookies up and down the country are tipping former Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish or former
Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink to takeover from under pressure manager Rafa Benitez.
Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup last night at Anfield at the hands of Championship side
Reading, which now sees the reds fighting for fourth place having been knocked out of the Champions
League and League Cup.
Prior to the draw England were already among the favourites, on the back of a solid qualifying
campaign. A seemingly favourable draw has served to strengthen that belief and most bookies have
them as third favourites at around 11/2. Under Fabio Capello England have become an efficient unit
and he appears .
And so to part two.
Sunday's win at Bolton made a lot of people sit up and take notice, partly because of the
battling nature of the victory, and partly because of the inspirational form of our captain. But
mainly because it meant that three points tonight could send us top of the league.
Sure, Chelsea would have a game in hand, which they would only need to draw to return to the
summit.
There were unprecedented scenes tonight at Untold Towers, the rural enclave which houses Untold
Arsenal. As editors and copywriters gathered on the 42nd floor and watched in amazement a crowd of
over 400 bookmakers, bookies runners and a couple of burger sellers attacked the building with
sticks, staves and a centurian tank.
So here we are in 2010, a year that will again provide us with another month of top quality
entertainment, our eyes stuck to the screen as we see great names perform to the highest levels of
peak perfection until there can be left just one standing at the final whistle.........my money is
on Vinnie Jones.
I haven't had a chance to do a proper blog yet today due to various reasons , but hopefully I'll
get to it later.
In the meantime, here's a round up:
Man Shitty have announced the signing of Patrick Vieira
Fulham v Portsmouth is off
Burnley v Stoke is off
Liverpool want to move their league game against the Spuds due to the weather conditions.
Simple question and yet such a complicated answer:
- The bookies say it's going to be the on-paper favorite Ivory Coast.
- History says it will be Egypt, two-time defending champions.
- Your gut says it won't be either.
Then who will it be?
Everything, at least right now, points to two teams: Ghana & Ivory Coast.
FIFA's latest world rankings were released in December 2009, with the next assessment due at the
start of February, just after the African Cup of Nations is due to end. So with the tournament
about to get underway, how do the teams involved fare? The number on the left represents the
nations' standing within Africa, the number in brackets their overall world ranking.
They say certain matches define your season. With us two years ago, it was the match at
Birmingham. The year we went unbeaten, it was the come-back against Liverpool at Highbury. When
this season's fixtures were revealed, everyone said it would be a run of games which defined ours,
not that anyone expected us to be in the race off course.

Being a good manager is about getting the tough decisions right. Wenger is stuck in an
impossible situation right now whatever team he fields against Stoke tomorrow, he opens himself up
to massive criticism. Play at full strength, and injuries could scupper our chances in an
incredibly tough league run.

15:45 Egypt v Cameroon, Africa Cup of Nations Quarter Final, British Eurosport/HD
Hard to know which Cameroon side will turn up for this match. Inconsistent in their group matches,
only Zambia have now got longer odds to win the competition of the six teams remaining (according
to the bookies).
