Let's face it unless you spend a lot of time on the toilet or in airports, it's difficult to
pry yourself away from the television and/or internet long enough to actually read and actual book.
So in the interest of focusing your book readin' efforts on the few works actually worth
sacrificing valuable YouTube time for, we present the first book to earn the DT seal of approval:
Finn McCool's Football Club.

Another Premier League weekend is now in the books, and with some key match ups and exciting
derbies now past us, here are the things that we learned from this weekend of Premiership
action.
10Boring as Hull. Anyone who watched the Hull City v Portsmouth match on
Saturday will know exactly what I mean.

With yet another exciting Premier League weekend in the books it's time to review this weekend's
winners and losers.
Winners Robbie Keane
Robbie Keane emerges from this weekend as the biggest winner. The Tottenham striker has had a
relatively quiet start to the season, oftentimes playing second fiddle to the red hot Jermain
Defoe.

With the arrival of the weekend, football fans across the world are returning to following their
respective teams in another series of cracking fixtures. However, excitement is going to reach a
whole different level next weekend, when the much awaited FIFA 10 releases in Australia (October 1)
and Europe (October 2).

Rewind back to 2003 and you'll see that Jonathan Woodgate had everything. From critical acclaim
to a huge fan following, he had all the essentials required to go down in the Newcastle folklore as
one of the very best defenders of all time. However, the only obstacle that could stop him injuries
came into play very early into his career at St.

For Premier League fans around the world, the last couple of weeks have been
almost too painful to endure as something very important seems to have disappeared out of our
lives. But with yet another international period finally in the
books, we can once again look forward to the return of our most beloved brand of football this
weekend.

Another week of Premiership action is now in the books, and Thursday means one thing: it's time
for the Thursday Throwdown from A to Z. Here we go...
AÂ is for Anelka. Chelsea fans should be counting their lucky stars that both
Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba are in spectacular form.

If you are Paul Hart - by far the bookies' favorite to become the first sacked manager in the
Premier League this season - you would need a miracle to save Portsmouth from relegation at this
point. Four games into the new season, Pompey are yet to scrap up a single point, which is a clear
indicator of how the team roster was in desperate need of major bolstering on the final day of
transfers.

Officiating in modern day football has already received its fair share of flak. Of course,
whenever a certain team is at the receiving end of harsh refereeing decisions, its passionate fans
jump at the opportunity to hit back at the match officials with great force. In this article,
however, I will not go ahead with the oft-repeated idea of accusing the referees of lacking the
ability to call big games without the heavily proposed use of technology.

Just because Premier League action is here doesn't mean that we're free of transfer rumors just
yet. All summer long the speculation has surrounded Real Madrid, and Los Blancos haven't closed
their books for the summer yet. Two of their Dutch stars are still looking for new places to ply
their trade, and in Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart there are still two bargains of the
summer waiting to be snatched.

The pre-season is in full flow and the build up to the new season is getting more exciting by
the day. Therefore, let's take pre-season preparation as a variable to preview this upcoming
season in football rather than discussing the oft-repeated, boring variable known as the transfer
market.

A capacity crowd of more than 78,000 was in attendance at the CONCACAF Gold Cup final on Sunday.
At the full time whistle, Giants Stadium appeared to be a sight of gross injustice more than
anything else. After resiliently fighting with their third-string side for the entire tournament,
the Americans finally fell to their bitter regional rivals, Mexico, albeit very harshly.

Football is a funny game - this is the sport where anything, and I mean
anything, can happen completely out of the blue. For example, no one ever imagined
that Brazilian star Ronaldinho, who was literally unstoppable not too long ago, would suddenly
become as anonymous as he is nowadays.

Cinderella stories happen everyday, everywhere in this world. In particular, when it comes to
the world of football, we have seen quite a few of them. After all, who would have thought that
Senegal would knock France out of the World Cup in 2002? Or who would have picked Greece to win it
all in the European Cup of 2004?

Another season of the Premier League is now in the books, and Premiership Talk today celebrates
its first birthday! On June 7, 2008, Premiership Talk was founded, and a year later the site stands
lightyears ahead of its basic roots...although we're still talking about the same things today that
we were a year ago (the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga was the very first post on Premiership
Talk).

11am – After failing in my quest to get a good night's rest the night before, I spent the
morning zombified thanks mainly to the hypnotic waffling of Paddy Crerand on MUTV. After a wash and
an egg (though maybe not in that order) I got in the cab and headed for Heathrow Terminal 5.

On yet another pulsating night in European football, Shakhtar Donetsk became the first ever
Ukrainian side to lift the UEFA Cup following a 2-1 win over the German Bundesliga's Werder Bremen.
In the process, they also became the last team to ever win the competition as it will be reprised
as the Europa League next season.

After Saturday's match, Manchester United defender Patrice Evra spoke about the game criticising
Arsenal's 'physical' approach. Evra received several kicks from Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and
co. He said: "I dont know why they tried to kick me. They must be jealous I'll play in a Champions
League final.

Arsenal will have to face a top European team in Champions League qualification this August after
Chelsea secured third place with a 4-1 mauling of the Gunners. Alex headed in the opener despite
Arsenal's early dominance and Nicolas Anelka struck with a superb effort before half time. A Kolo
Toure own goal wrapped up three points for [.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have never won at the Emirates Stadium, but winning doesn't matter where
tomorrow's Champions League semi-final second leg is concerned. As long as Arsenal don't score, or
the game ends a score draw, United will progress to the final and their fans can start booking
their tickets for Rome.

Ten things I noticed from this week's Champions League semifinals:
1. Much Ado About Nothing – Much to the woe of slobbering, over enthusiastic
journalists everywhere, the Barcelona myth was partially debunked on Tuesday. It's not that they
were awful by any stretch of the imagination, but when faced with an equally good team who didn't
stand aside and let them play through them they looked more than a little stumped.

It's always this way, isn't it? You wait forever for one bus and then four or five come along at
once. After a fairly drab season by Premier League standards, it's all gone frigging loopy as the
fight for European and domestic dominance reaches its final stretch. A month ago we (well mainly I,
but I'm sure you, too) were bemoaning the lack of really exciting games from the 08-09 Premier
League season.

Tim Howard emerged as the unlikely hero of the FA Cup semifinal match between Manchester United
and Everton as the Toffees booked a spot against Chelsea in May at Wembley. After 120 minutes of
scoreless play, the American goalkeeper came up with two huge penalty saves to end United's dream
of an unprecedented quintuple.

The PFA Player of the Year nominees are now out, and what a farce they are. It's not that five
Manchester United players have been nominated for the main award that I find farcicle. Nor that
Steven Gerrard is the only representative from the 19 other clubs. Nor that Aaron 'I can run very
fast but I get a little stumped when I have to do something with this ball thingy' Lennon is in
with a shot of winning Young Player of the Year.

While some of us Premier League fans must be jubilant with celebrations right now, others are
still sure to be hurting, as the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals is already in the
books. Rather than reviewing the Champions League results, however, this article focuses on moving
on to this weekend's Premier League fixtures for the "Big Four", and how their Champions League
outings will end up affecting their Premier League outings this weekend.

There has been a Didier Drogba sighting. And guess what, he's doing something commendable.
Crazy, I know.
Friday, Drogs was in Abidjan promoting his new book to donate a hefty monetary amount to the
Grand Bassam orphanage. The Ivory Coast man presented a check for about 2,300 Euros to the
facility.

Hi,
I'm Jose Mourinho.
You know, the good looking one, formerly of FC Chelsea.
In my new book you can read lots of things about football, not about football, eggs (good or bad),
and my "quick start" guide to Football fans.
For instance...
Most of the black community are fans of Arsenal, the Jewish community support
Tottenham, in the most disadvantaged area of London they're fans of West Ham, and Fulham are a
small club but with a strong nucleus of fans.
