The Wigan - Bolton match being frozen off at the end of gameweek 18 brings home a reminder of the
importance of having a bench with players who are capable of contributing points if they become
needed. With some notable injuries to a few marque players (ala Fabregas) having a solid line up of
quality substitute players becomes even more pressing.
Has it really been 15 gameweeks already...Yes it has, and the Fantasy Premier League has already
shown many tops and flops... Let's see who have been playing a great first half of the season.
TOPS
The number one goalkeeper is Stoke City's Sorensen with 71 points. Goalkeeper has been on fire the
last three matches, and has saved 2 penalties and kept 2 clean sheets.
While Blackburn may be struggling to score goals at the other end of the field, they continue to
compensate for this by remaining tight across the back line. Blackburn have kept four clean sheets
in their last five games and Sam Allardyce has emphasised the need for this to continue in order to
achieve a climb up the table.
Ivan Klasnic is a man in form. In the last four matches he has scored 4 goals for Bolton, and
accrued 4 bonus points. Admittedly these results have come against some middling teams - Fulham,
Wolves, Manchester City and West Ham, but his forthcoming fixtures look equally useful: Wigan,
Burnley, Hull and Arsenal in his gameweek 20 double fixture, then Sunderland on the 9th of January.
And I feel bonus points are in order because I did not do a Rihanna Umbrella joke. Eh?Leeds 5 v 1

That was the story with Sunderland studs throughout most of the fall and the first few months of
the Premier League season.
Darren Bent was a no-brainer from the start of the season (moving over from Tottenham with the
price tag of a 4th choice striker), Michael Turner looked irresistible (moving over from Hull with
a low price tag), and Andy Reid lost a bunch of weight.

- The Aston Villa - Liverpool game was fun to watch with the heavy snowfall at Villa Park... Big
flurries coming down on the likes of Benayoun (Israel) and Lucas (Brazil) - players who probably
have no idea how to deal with these snowy conditions as they grew up in deserts / beaches.

Ducky's Note : The semester is finally over and Lighter The Pundit, looks back on it in the
same loving way that you look at a half-boil in the sink the day after. So, if what
follows seems self-indulgent, it is.
