The Wigan - Bolton match being frozen off at the end of gameweek 18 brings home a reminder of the
importance of having a bench with players who are capable of contributing points if they become
needed. With some notable injuries to a few marque players (ala Fabregas) having a solid line up of
quality substitute players becomes even more pressing.
Has it really been 15 gameweeks already...Yes it has, and the Fantasy Premier League has already
shown many tops and flops... Let's see who have been playing a great first half of the season.
TOPS
The number one goalkeeper is Stoke City's Sorensen with 71 points. Goalkeeper has been on fire the
last three matches, and has saved 2 penalties and kept 2 clean sheets.
While Blackburn may be struggling to score goals at the other end of the field, they continue to
compensate for this by remaining tight across the back line. Blackburn have kept four clean sheets
in their last five games and Sam Allardyce has emphasised the need for this to continue in order to
achieve a climb up the table.
Ivan Klasnic is a man in form. In the last four matches he has scored 4 goals for Bolton, and
accrued 4 bonus points. Admittedly these results have come against some middling teams - Fulham,
Wolves, Manchester City and West Ham, but his forthcoming fixtures look equally useful: Wigan,
Burnley, Hull and Arsenal in his gameweek 20 double fixture, then Sunderland on the 9th of January.
And I feel bonus points are in order because I did not do a Rihanna Umbrella joke. Eh?Leeds 5 v 1

Why are you celebrating? You lack pace and are prone to senseless bookings
Cheap,
cheap, and in great form. And well, cheap.
That was the story with Sunderland studs throughout most of the fall and the first few months of
the Premier League season.
Darren Bent was a no-brainer from the start of the season (moving over from Tottenham with the
price tag of a 4th choice striker), Michael Turner looked irresistible (moving over from Hull with
a low price tag), and Andy Reid lost a bunch of weight.
What's in Butt's Brain today...
- The Aston Villa - Liverpool game was fun to watch with the heavy snowfall at Villa Park... Big
flurries coming down on the likes of Benayoun (Israel) and Lucas (Brazil) - players who probably
have no idea how to deal with these snowy conditions as they grew up in deserts / beaches.
First two rounds of English Premier League have been played and the third is just around the
corner. Let's see which players should perform well in gameweek 3.
Let's first look at the fixture table:
Arsenal v Portsmouth
Birmingham v Stoke
Hull v Bolton
Manchester City v Wolverhampton
Sunderland v Blackburn
Wigan v Manchester United
West Ham v Tottenham
Burnley v Everton
Fulham v Chelsea
Liverpool v Aston Villa
Two teams from the fixture list pop out, and those are Arsenal and Manchester City.
I thought I'd begin a new weekly post here on my Premier Fantasy League blog: Player cards.
And who better a player to start then mister Premier Fantasy League himself, Frank Lampard. O'l
Frankie has been the key player in many Fantasy soccer teams for many years now.
Lampard begin his professional soccer career in West Ham United and was sold to Chelsea in the year
2001 for £11M.
Again 90 minutes of each game has been kicked and it's time to see who did well in Premier League
Fantasy Football this week. Overall there were few big surprises and a few little ones. Chelsea,
Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham continue with their no points lost-campaign. Bolton,
Blackburn, Portsmouth and Everton still stand at zero.
After the fourth gameweek there are still 3 teams that continue with a nice looking table, only
wins. Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City are yet to experience the bitter taste of defeat as Bolton
and Portsmouth still wait for their first taste of victory. Chelsea took the most convincing win of
the week, as it beat Burnley 3-0.
When Wolves emerge from the international break, the familiar strains of the Z Cars theme will fill
the air at Goodison Park.
How apt - because the current points haul is criminal.
What a fantastic opportunity blown. Eight games, a meagre seven points. Simply not enough.
Now Wolves have their backs to the wall as they contemplate five fixtures against Everton, Aston
Villa, Stoke, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Now that we've all finished laughing up our sleeves at Wigan following their 9-1 defeat at
Tottenham last weekend, it's about time we stoked the fires of the whole freakish affair once
again. To do that, I relate to you an email I received from SPAOTP co-founder Martin Lewis this
week.
He confided in me that when his wife saw the 9-1 scoreline in favour of his beloved Spurs, she said
"How many points do they get for that?

Ducky's Note : The semester is finally over and Lighter The Pundit, looks back on it in the
same loving way that you look at a half-boil in the sink the day after. So, if what
follows seems self-indulgent, it is.
Oh, and also, being a Stones kinda guy, he finds the excessive Beatles referencing downright
offensive.
