As previously reported, Red Bulls Fan of the Year Thomas Binkley (aka
"Binks") was banned for life from Giants Stadium by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition
Authority for allegedly throwing some "f" bombs and exhibiting "threatening"
behavior. To throw further salt in the wounds, it landed just before the Barcelona game.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: South Americans take their football pretty seriously.
Apparently none more so than fans of Brazilian Serie A side Flamengo who, during a protest against
the team's recent poor form, decided to show how frustrated they really were. You know, in these
circumstances it's customary for fans to chant abuse, or make obscene banners, but this hardcore
group of Flamengo fanatics actually threw a BOMB at the team during practice yesterday morning,
injuring two players; defender Dininho and striker Obina.
