Real Madrid have confirmed that Florentino Perez has returned as club president. Perez, who
held the post for six highly eventful years from 2000 to 2006, will be sworn in today.
The 62-year-old businessman will take over from Vicente Boluda, who has been in the post since
Ramon Calderon stepped down in January in the wake of allegations of voting irregularities at the
club's last general assembly in December.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed he will "work to bring Kaka and Cristiano
Ronaldo" to the Bernabeu.
Madrid are currently in negotiations to sign Kaka, while they have long been linked with a move
for the Portugal international.
There continues to be speculation that they already have a deal in place for Ronaldo and
although Perez insists he knows nothing about any such contract, he admits the 24-year-old is one
of his main targets this summer.
On Wednesday he said that to resign would be "cowardly". On Friday, he resigned.
On Wednesday he had the full support of his Board of Directors. On Friday, they deserted him.
On Wednesday, he swore on his "honour" that he had nothing to do with the shady goings-on
at last month's AGM.

It's part and parcel of being a football fan: referees are either useless or they are conspiring
for your side to lose. Well, I don't hold much stock in conspiracy theories, especially since the
only way three people can keep a secret is if two of them are dead.
Osasuna supporters may well feel aggrieved at the way referee Alfonso Pérez Burrull dismissed
their most influential player Juanfran with two yellow cards.
New Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda was interviewed on radio on Monday night to explain what
he intends to do at the club until new elections are called.
How are you handling all these interviews?
Not very well. I don't really like being in the media spotlight, getting recognised.

Florentino Perez, the man who brought Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and David Beckham to Real Madrid,
signalled that he is ready to make another bid for the club presidency.
"Florentino Perez will make public his intention to stand in the Real Madrid elections on
Thursday," his office said, confirming his plan to run after months of speculation.
