The English Premier League continued it 2009-10 season with a full weekend of matches. On Saturday August 30, 2009 there were seven matches inlcuding Manchester United v Arsenal, Bolton v Liverpool, Chelsea v Burnley, and Tottenham v Birmingham. The English Carling Cup wrapped up its fourth round (round of 16) matches on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. The favorites on Wednesday advanced as their were any upsets. Two of the matches included Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers and Manchester City v Scunthorpe United. Here's a recap along with video highlights of both matches.

According to several sources including this article in the Examiner, the young Bolton defender is currently on trial with the Chicago Fire. Here is an excerpt:

James Sinclair, formerly with Bolton Wanderers FC, has been brought in to work out with the Fire for two weeks. The youngster injured his hamstring after a couple of days in training, but will stay with the Fire in the hopes of getting some practice time with the club before his trial window closes.

Overall most of the home teams won except for Wigan who were crushed by Manchester United.

The English Premier League continues its 2009-10 season with a full set of matches this upcoming weekend. There are not as many marquee match-ups as last weekend which had the Manchester derby. Chelsea remains perfect atop the table while Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool are close behind them.

Israel have produced wonderful midfielders over the years...Avi Cohen, Ronnie Rosenthal, Eyal Berkovic and Yossi Benayoun. After four matches and three goals for Bolton, you can add Tamir Cohen onto that list.
Tamir Cohen joined Bolton in January 2008 for a mere fee of £37,000 from Maccabi Netanya.
