Liverpool vs Bolton ( 1-1- Torres goal) Anfield- January 1, 2011 Many Liverpool fans have felt
disgusted by the way their team has played in recent times, but this goal was a pleasure to watch.
Excellent build up for the goal and a more than decent finish to accompany it. After seeing this
particular goal, [.

The January 2011 transfer window is about to open. Will Premier League clubs be spending money
this time around? In January 2009 Premier League teams spent a record £178 MILLION in that
transfer window. Last January spending was much lower with the vast majority of moves on the final
day of the January transfer window being loan deals as clubs did not have the capital to invest in
new players.

Tim Howard, Everton and Liverpool aren't too far from the relegation zone, and this weekend's
Merseyside Derby could determine which team continues to fight for safety for the remainder of the
season and which starts to climb the table.
Howard and Everton travel to Liverpool on Sunday in one of the marque match-ups of the
weekend.
Croatian International, Nico Krancar, 26, looks likely to leave Tottenham in January
after the club stated that a bid of around 9 million would be accepted...
Bio: Despite continued speculation that he would move to Arsenal, Nico chose to
leave Hajduk Split for Portsmouth in 2006.

Chelsea's big win against Bolton Wanderers last Monday give a much more valid prove that the
Blues are finally getting back into their old self, with the striking department start to click
their engine once again the other part of the team looked more secured.
However, aside from applauding the improvement that his squad are making, the club's tactician,
Carlo Ancelotti, still plan to add the defensive reinforcement he has been planning since the
winter and the tactician confirmed that David Luiz is their new target.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti spoke of "turning corners" and of having brought to an end a
"difficult moment which went on too long", following their much-needed victory over Bolton
Wanderers. The Blues won in a one-sided affair at the Reebok Stadium with unanswered goals from
Didier Drogba, Florent Malouda, Nicolas Anelka and Ramires, and the result marks the first time
that they have won back-to-back Premier League wins since the end of October.
Bolton sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table. After such an impressive start to
this season and spirits riding high, 11th place just feels so... wrong. Such a difference from this
point last year where we would have killed for this position.
The last match against Wigan was a dreary, frankly pathetic affair on January 5th.
Javier Martina - Pride of Netherlands AntillesTeam Winter's goal of releasing more
reliable information in four days than Mo Johnston did in four years continued today with the
promised list of the remaining participating trialists. After the introduction of the three
Canadians (Eddy Sidra, Gianluca Zavarise and David Monsalve) yesterday, TFC's "Camp GobbleGobble"
in Turkey welcomed the following potential Reds into the happy family.
The Liverpool FC line up v Bolton Wanderers for the Premier League fixture at Anfield on
Saturday January 1st 2011, has been confirmed as follows:
Starting 11:
Reina, Johnson, Aurelio, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Meireles, Maxi, Kuyt, Ngog, Torres.
Subs:
Jones, Cole, Babel, Kelly, Poulsen, Gerrard, Kyrgiakos.
As the Liverpool players were booed off the pitch on Wednesday night after a woeful display
against Wolves resulting in defeat, it was the name of "Dalglish" that resounded from the stands,
a cry for help from the Anfield idol.
Today the players take to the pitch once more against Bolton, the King having spoken, the
clubs current ambassador and head of football development asking for unity within the club.
Having already lost 1-0 to Liverpool at the Reebok on October 31, Bolton will hope to end their
winless run against Liverpool. The last time the Whites beat the Reds? 3-2 winners in the fourth
round of the Carling Cup in December 2003. The last time they won in a league fixture? 1954. Trends
seem to be on Bolton's side this season.

Detractors 1-0 Protractors Earlier this season MOTD faced some criticism over the nature of the
analysis of its pundits. OTP was far from the programme's harshest critic. But we're not entirely
convinced that this is what those leading the backlash meant by the need for some new perspective
on the show.

Brad Guzan started 2011 by doing something he did little of last year: he started a match.
Having completed a one-month loan to Hull City, Guzan made his first start at the club level
since a Sept. 22 Carling Cup match for Aston Villa on Saturday.
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle confirmed there is interest from the Trotters to sign striker
Carlos Vela from Arsenal, on loan. The Scottish is quoted as saying that the 21-year old is an
"outstanding player" and ...
It's early days, but I'm beginning to see a lot of worrying parallels between Blackburn manager
Steve Kean and Sammy Lee, assistant manager at Liverpool.
Lee was assistant manager at Bolton Wanderers for two years under Sam Allardyce. When Lee
stepped up to become manager after Sam Allardyce left to join Newcastle United, Lee finally had a
chance to make his name as a football manager.
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is believed to be heading for the exit door despite the recent
victory over Bolton Wanderers.
The Reds saw a mini-revival of sorts during the encounter at Anfield, as the side initially went
down and mounted a comeback as Fernando Torres and Joe Cole scored as the Merseysiders took all
three points.

Roy Hodgson is hoping Joe Cole's match-winning goal against Bolton Wanderers will kick-start his
Liverpool career.
The former Chelsea and West Ham man has endured a slow start to life at Anfield after being sent
off on his league debut for the club against Arsenal.
Injury has also curtailed his availability and form, although Hodgson insists the England
international has never lost faith in his own ability.
Trot on Bolton's well-documented injury problems have left Owen Coyle with just 15 first-team
players at his disposal. What has been slightly baffling is his refusal to call upon an Academy
player, even if it was just to warm the bench and sample the atmosphere of senior football. Instead
he named just four substitutes for [.

Eddie Johnson has been receiving sporadic minutes with Fulham as of late, but this weekend's FA
Cup action may be just what he needs in order to receive a start.
Fulham take on League One club Peterborough United, and that could give Johnson an opportunity
to get his first start since early October.
Over the years I've heard many fans bemoaning the fact that their club appear to play teams just
as they come into a good run of form. Conversely it's also good to catch clubs whilst they are on a
poor run of form. I think many clubs in the Championship took advantage of a Portsmouth side in
turmoil earlier this season as they got to grips with the division.
Stevenage, Notts County, Reading and Southampton provided the FA Cup surprises on Saturday as
they took the Premier League scalps of Newcastle, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Blackpool
respectively in their third-round ties.
Despite Newcastle making five changes from the side that routed West Ham in midweek, it was
still a strong side that went down 3-1 at Stevenage.

Jonathan Spector's time at West Ham United may be numbered, but the U.S. national team defender
is doing his best to make sure he leaves with a bang.
Spector continued his cup heroics this weekend, scoring the winner in West Ham's 2-0 victory
over Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup.

Duck hunting season opens at Chelsea.
Ireland and Wigan midfield sensation James McCarthy has revealed that he has resumed
training and expects to be back in action by the end of January.
The 20-year-old is recovering from serious ligament damage suffered in the Premier League clash
with Bolton in October last year.
The description of this week's matches has to be somewhat abbreviated because I'm busy packing
for a week-long trip to Washington and New York City. We will tell you, though, that there are two
matches bookending this weekend that feature a pair of ranked clubs. On Friday, the German
Bundesliga returns with a bang as Bayer Leverkusen hosts leader Borussia Dortmund.

The January 2011 transfer window is closed and it was a record breaking one as Premier League
teams spent over £210 MILLION on transfers in January. Here is the final list of player

Sad news tonight as Bolton's greatest ever has passed. The Lion of Vienna has succumbed to a
long battle with disease and is no longer with us. The forward, undoubtedly Bolton's greatest ever,
was born on August 27, 1925. He was 85 years old.
The forward scored 255 goals in 452 appearances in a Wanderers shirt between 1946 and 1960.
