Every year Premiership managers conspire to spend millions of pounds on exotic sounding foreign
players whose names have never graced the screens of an English TV. Last year it was Marouane
Fellaini, a £15 million signing for Everton. And what's more, his tough tackling, willingness to
play ludicrously out of position, and even more ludicrous haircut have made the Premiership a
better place over the last twelve months.
Criticism of Newcastle United has long since passed from being some form of sport into being a
sadistic ritual, but their new change kit for next season is surely worthy of some comment. The
two-tone yellow striped number from Adidas has already been described as "custard and cream with
yellow shorts" (When Saturday Comes), "the worst football strip ever" (The Sunderland Echo, perhaps
unsurprisingly and a "garish orange and yellow stripe number" (The Sun) but, whilst it may well be
the worst offender of the summer, it certainly isn't the only terrible football kit that has been
designed over the last few months or so.
English Premier League transfer rumours and gossip from May 12, 2009. Inter boss Jose Mourinho is
reportedly planning a £15m bid for Chelsea's John Obi Mikel in the summer. Liverpool boss Rafa
Benitez says that no amount of money can make him part with hard working Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt.
Bolton Wanderers want to make 300% profit on [.
You know too many days can't pass without Cristiano Ronaldo being mentioned
with Real Madrid, even if he's already said he's going to stay at Manchester United.
The in-form winger is in the transfer gossip pages today, but there are several more big names
and big clubs to discuss in today's transfer news and rumors roundup.
Saturday may have been a holiday for me in the U.S., but no matter what day it is, I've got an
attentive eye on the latest in transfer news and rumors.
Ahmed already covered the latest news on the Felipe Melo to Arsenal front, and
in this morning's roundup, I have several more tidbits from Saturday and early today to tide you
over until next time, including another potential swap deal involving Arsenal and a top Serie A
club.
You knew it was only a matter of time before it would happen, even with the world's current
economical state. Real Madrid have broken the world transfer record that they already held by
landing Kaka from AC Milan for £59m.
That signing looks to be only the start of Real's monster summer spending spree, and if they can
land one of their prime targets (you should already know who I'm talking about without me having to
mention him by name), we could see the above record broken once again before the end of the
summer.
In today's footballing world the term, "wonderkid," seems to be throw around as often as a
Crisitano Ronaldo step over. Most of these so-called 16-year-old phenoms come along and shock the
world for a couple of months before going into relative obscurity for the rest of their life.
But for a small group of "wonderkids" and the list is small the title sticks and said player
becomes something special.
It's a new week, and we've got a fresh batch of transfer news and rumors from around Europe.
We've got tidbits from England, Italy, and Germany in today's roundup, with names big, medium, and
small all being linked with moves from here to there.
England
Tottenham Enter Race for Tevez
Tottenham have joined the queue of teams looking to sign Carlos Tevez, as Spurs
are being linked with a 25m offer for the Argentine hit-man.
First Star: Jozy Altidore got his work permit issues sorted and his first look at Premier League
soccer on Saturday. Coming on as a 60th minute substitute, he set up Kamel Ghilas' 61st minute
winner in Hull City's 1-0 result over Bolton Wanderers. Altidore had a chance at one of his own,
but his shot went wide.
We've got quite a lot of tidbits from yesterday and today to go over in today's roundup from
around the Premier League, Serie A, and several more top leagues, so if you've missed any of the
latest transfer news and rumors, we're here to catch you up.
And as always, you can stay updated with all of the latest transfer signings from all England's
league clubs and several top European leagues thanks to our summer transfer lists.
Aston Villa's new away kit
Verdict: Very stripey, quite classy, reminiscent of an Eighties England kit. Gareth Barry
may or may not be wearing it in 09/10 though. Another pic below:
Villa's English connection: Messrs Milner, Young and Agbonlahor. Nice pic.
Aberdeen's new home kit
Verdict: Stripes are the new black, clearly.
We're already in the middle of June, and though the signings haven't been coming hard and fast
just yet, that doesn't mean that there's a shortage of action thus far in the summer transfer
window.
In this morning's transfer news and rumors roundup, we've got tidbits from England, Spain,
Italy, Germany, France, and Greece, with many big names and big clubs looking to spend, spend,
spend.

Trading one of the best clubs in the world? That's what the papers think one of the world's best
could do in the near future, but I'm not sure if your sentiments will be the same in regards to the
speculation in the spotlight in today's roundup of transfer news and rumors. England Yesterday, I

Much of the focus in the football world today is on the massive UEFA Champions League final
showdown between Manchester United and Barcelona (which you can follow live on SL), and rightfully
so. And in case you haven't seen it yet, check out Soccerlens' exclusive interview
with Lionel Messi (yes, the one and only).
After a pretty active start to the week, the transfer news and rumors have subsided quite a bit
over the last couple of days.
However, we've got a solid compilation of transfer news and rumors from England and Italy to
tide you over until tomorrow.

Trezeguet Garnering English Interest
David Trezeguet could be set to leave Juventus this summer, and according to
his father/agent, is receiving interest from ‘everyone' in England, along with Lyon and
Barcelona.
It works The other day we showed you the Harry Redknapp Press Conference Flow Chart. We decided to
put it to the test using his interview with the BBC following Spurs' 3-2 defeat at Bolton. The
results are quite astounding! Flow Chart: Did you win? Answer: No Flow Chart: Mention that the team
only had two points when you came.
With new kits being unveiled, and some still in speculation this is a tense time for fans. So
far this year we have seen some nice looking kits, and some awful ones. Below is a quick summary of
each Premier League teams new wardrobe.
Arsenal :
Again, the Gunners kits are designed by Nike and their main sponsors are Emirates Airlines.
One 100% heterosexual ass-tap, administered by Steve Parkin (Hull City's first-team coach),
propelled Jozy Altidore into the Premier League arena for the first time. That's how we do things
in England. "Get out there lad and score us a bloody goal," Parkin added. Or something like
that.
Altidore didn't score a goal on his Prem debut – he replaced Caleb Folan in the 60th minute of
Hull's home game v Bolton Wanderers on Saturday – but he did the next best thing in setting up
team-mate Kamel Ghilas to bang in the game's only goal.
Georgie Bingham doesn't have the easiest job on television, that's for sure. From that early
morning Saturday kickoff in August when ESPN kicked off its coverage of the Premier League to the
last match shown between Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, Georgie has experienced the highs
and lows of being the presenter of the Premier League coverage on ESPN2.
Ah January, January, January... It's a cold, wet and basically horrible month, but we do get
treated to a bit of transfer action and I'm going to have a brief look at the early completed ones
and rumours too see who's doing the best business. Probably best to start with the 'big
boys'. One thing that [.
Bolton Wanderers have unveiled their new home kit for the 2009-2010 season, and boy is it
awful.
Why on earth they decide not to consult fans regarding these designs before they're released to
the public, I don't know. For the 2008-2009 season, the Trotters wore a football shirt that was
designed, not on purpose I hope, to look like a sports bra.
It's a relatively slow day on the transfer news and rumors front, but since it's a Monday, that
may be something to be expected.
Nonetheless, there's still a little something from here and a little something from there to
give you your transfer gossip fix today.

Terry To Address Rumors?
The following players have been known to have played abroad during the past 12 months, but have
since disappeared. There are also players I am looking for some further information on, in an

extremely grateful for [.
The Nielsen Ratings for ESPN2's most recent Premier League match have been released. For the
October 3rd game between Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, the network achieved a 0.2 rating
with an audience of approximately 265,508 viewers.
The Bolton against Spurs game garnered the fifth highest Premier League TV ratings for
ESPN2.
It's starting to get down to crunch time for sides looking to add the necessary reinforcements to

The Steven Gerrard/Fernando Torres partnership is the latest in a long line of fantastic Liverpool
FC strike duos, but just how effective is the partnership in the Premiership?
I have analysed every LEAGUE game Gerrard and Torres have started together since the Spaniard
joined the club in 2007.
BWFC24's round up of Premier League Previews for the 2009–2010 season which starts tomorrow,
Saturday, August 15, 2009.
Overall, the predictions for The Wanderers is fairly grim, as you might expect. On average
Bolton are expected to finish around 13th or 14th. Personally I think BWFC will finish higher than
expected, hopefully in the top 10 and may reach the semi-finals in either the FA or Leauge Cup.
Today's transfer roundup isn't light on the latest news and rumors about who definitely will be
headed to new clubs and who could be in the near (or distant) future. England Manchester City have

Oguchi Onyewu won't be playing in the Milan Derby this weekend, but fans may get a chance to
watch him make his Serie A debut when AC Milan faces Siena on Saturday as the new Italian season

That is just one of the many televised Serie A matches to look for this weekend as lots of
the league's opening games are being televised, including Juventus-Chievo, Inter Milan-Bari and
Bologna-Fiorentina.
We're back in the United States for the week while club football returns to action around the
world. All of the top clubs were in action this past weekend and most of them play twice in the
coming week, so we are back in full force.
The volatility that marked the past few weeks in the rankings has slowed down this week, though
top-ranked Chelsea did manage to lose to Aston Villa to give up its place at the top spot both in
the Premiership and the rankings.
The clock is tick-tick-ticking, and the end of the January transfer window is one day closer. If

Ligue 1, and the Scottish Premier League.
