Aston Villa are flying high in the Premiership and manager Martin O'Neill is relishing the chance

With just over a month to go until the January sales transfer speculation mounts every day. It
seems like it's going to be a busy month in the New Year. In demand at the moment Nicolas Anelka
has been linked with a move again to another Premiership club, this time Newcastle. With
injury-prone England striker Michael [.
My heart goes out to supporters of Liverpool FC. The club have been rocked by Champions League
failure, the validity of their Merseyside derby victory has been questioned, and they have to
travel to Liverpool at least once a fortnight. Steven Gerrard probably received the brunt of the
criticism after the controversial derby day win. [...]
Krisztián Németh netted a pair for the second straight contest as the Reserves took the
mini-derby, three to nil, at Halliwell Jones. It also saw the return of 19-year-old Spanish
midfielder Francisco Durán, who came on in the 76th minute after being out for nine months with a
knee injury. Leto was apparently quiet throughout, but Nabil El Zhar garnered Man of the Match
honors from the official site.
Chris over at EPLTalk has paid someone to put together a list of the pitch sizes in the Premier
League - not to be confused with other metrics of measuring a club's superiority, such as title
count, time spent playing in the top level, the relationship of your manager with your players,
your transfer [...]
The Premier League weekend is likely to be overshadowed by Jose Mourinho's exit (dismissal) from
Chelsea, something that has also overshadowed the minor injury crisis at Liverpool as Daniel Agger
and Xabi Alonso are out for 6 weeks following metatarsal injuries. No chance to breath though, as
we've got some exciting close fixtures, 2 one-sided [...
Today's transfer rumours involve: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool,
Manchester City, Juventus, AC Milan and Bolton. Manchester United After Bilbao Pair Manchester
United seem to be the club most linked with players in the transfer rumours every day; today
they've been linked with half the Bilbao first team. Diario Sport had Fergie sending scouts to

A quick look at the transfer rumours doing the rounds - as the 31st August deadline approaches,
things just keep getting crazier and crazier. Manchester City and Manchester United moving in for
Bolton's Anelka Both City and United could ideally use 1 more striker and as a result both teams
have been linked to a host [...]
Uefa maintain that they'll leave the Grant situation for the Premier League to solve - a polite way
of telling the English to firm up and police themselves. While the Premier League scrambles to find
its pair of strap-ons (balls!), there are some juicy matchups taking place this weekend. As always,
you can make your [...]
I've never been particularly lucky in love. As a result of a severe lack of confidence, I can only
approach women after a skinful of lager when the beer goggles are on. Even Kermit would have turned
his nose up at some of the pigs I've tried my luck with. I raised the bar [...]
Well, It's finally surfaced. Here's video of Danny's first goal for Bolton versus Fulham in their
Carling Cup match from earlier this week. Unfortunately, the quality's not that great and there's
no replay, but from what you can see, it's quite the stunner. It's the first goal on the video.
Cheers.
In the Manchester United forum there's a hot debate going on about whether Sir Alex Ferguson should
bring Nicolas Anelka to Manchester United or not. It's a fair question but the motivation behind it
is even more poignant - the fans don't trust Saha anymore after what happened at the end of last
season (big [...]
With Sven winner of August's manager of the month award and Micah Richards receiving the player of
the month gong, I thought it might be interesting to try to build a complete ‘team of the first
month and a half'. Many questions arise when considering such a team: should it just be a
collection of [...]

There is this culture brewing in the British media that Arsenal players go down very easily and
that Cesc has a nasty streak that he needs to curb. A specific sky sports commentator even accused
Hleb of making a meal of a challenge from behind, since the foul committed "has not put him out of
Now we are in December this means we are less than a month away from the transfer window being
opened to allow clubs the freedom the start their shopping. Should Newcastle United's Obafemi
Martins' threat to leave the side come true Newcastle have their sights on Espanyol hitman Luis
Garcia. The Spaniard is rated at [.
I remain a slave to tradition. Every year, I make a complete fool of myself at the office Christmas
party, and this year was no exception. After consuming a few too many ales, I made a misguided play
for the cleaner under the mistletoe. He was absolutely livid. My luck is unlikely to [...]
Nicholas Anelka's Bolton have released their new away kit for the 2007-08 campaign and if they are
worthy of the new kit, they will avoid relegation, because RbK have made a nice looking shirt. The
splashes on the shoulder look nice and provide some colour to the Bolton away shirt but at the same
time keep [...]
Remember the time when you just couldn't wait for football to come back? Depending on your
allegiances, that feeling has either faded fast or reached an all-time high - less than a week
after the 07/08 season has started, the future is a bit clearer and as usual, a season of
over-achievement and heartbreak awaits. All [...]
The top 12 are separated by 3 points, the top 4 are on 10 points and theoretically speaking,
Manchester United are only, at most, 5 games off the pace while Chelsea are 3 points off. However,
Liverpool are top on goal difference (courtesy of Derby) followed by Arsenal and then Everton, and
for these teams, [...]
Greetings, hope everyone is doing well. I'm neither sick nor incarcerated so life can't be that
bad. Anyhow, I guess Rafa and Crouch have kissed and made up since it appears that the England
International won't be going anywhere come January. If he continues to play like he did against
Porto, even I wouldn't mind having him around.
For the last six or seven seasons, Arsenal have been the most entertaining side in the English
Premier League but on more than one occasion their effectiveness has failed their flair. But things
have imbibed a different hue this season and as the English Premier League 2007-2008 crawls into
Week 16, it is Arsene Wenger's [.
I'm all for good-natured banter at a football match, but supporters are beginning to overstep the
line. Harry Redknapp commands respect from all the major players in the game, such as Frank Lampard
and Jamie Redknapp, yet the colourful manager endured a torrent of vitriolic abuse when Portsmouth
travelled to Aston Villa.
The wife and I are similar in many ways, but we disagree on the most prudent way to discipline
children. Betty is from the old-school, and believes a small slap is perfectly acceptable. I take
the opposite view, and prefer the use of a knuckle-duster. Such actions would not be necessary if
it wasn't [.
It's back to familiar terms for Manchester United this weekend as they claimed their first win of
the new season, albeit a nervy (and controversial) one against Tottenham. The rest of the fixtures
provided their usual entertainment and by now most viewers would have realised that no matter what
happens, most of these teams [...]
4 days left to go in August and hopefully we can keep you updated through all the madness. Chelsea
offer 50m for Barcelona's Ronaldinho Sounds ridiculous to me for a host of reasons. The Spanish
press are really loosening up for one last salvo of randomly generated crap, aren't they? Read
more: Ronaldinho, Chelsea and Barcelona. Liverpool offer [..
Bolton weathered a second half onslaught from a Bayern Munich side inspired by the talismanic
Franck Ribery to claim a highly impressive UEFA Cup point at the Allianz Arena tonight. Bayern
would have intimidated anybody: a manager in Ottmar Hitzeld with 2 Champions League successes under
his belt, a magnificent stadium and a glittering catalogue of [.
Grand Slam Sunday headlined Week 17 of the English Premier League season, with Manchester United
edging Liverpool at Anfield, and Arsenal poking past Chelsea to remain on top of the league table.
But, that wasn't the only action worth watching this past weekend, as there were eight fixtures on
Saturday that preceded Sunday's top-of-the-table [.
A look at the latest transfer rumours involving the Premiership. Newcastle offering 6m for
Manchester United's Alan Smith You've got to be kidding me. Newcastle United have Ameobi, Owen,
Viduka, Martins plus that kid who got assaulted by Buffon (Carroll). They wouldn't be spending 6m
on a 5th or 4th choice striker. Unless Big Sam wants [...]
For all his faults and problems, Nicolas Anelka's talent deserves a bigger stage and a better club
than Bolton Wanderers. Bolton are in the Uefa Cup this season and that may placate the fans but for
Anelka time is running out on his career and if he wants to play in Europe, he needs to [...]

Must be a tough day for managers today. Almost every club is looking to sign or sell players and to
add to the drama, they have to prepare their teams for the weekend games as well. This is why
managers have assistants to deal with most of the team's training and preparation and in [...]
Back from international week and the Premier League is raring to go with Liverpool, Everton,
Chelsea and Arsenal all on 10 points and all teams looking to increase their lead at the top of the
table. As usual, we've got the weekend predictions and previews - you can also make your own
predictions by copying [...]
I'm not able to watch this match and quite frankly watching Barcelona-Zaragoza seemed like a better
idea and probably was since three great goals, two by Messi have been scored, but anyhow our
out-on-loan midfielder, Danny Guthrie, has scored his first goal for Bolton at Fulham. More on this
and hopefully the video later. Cheers.
By 1970's Gooner It has been said many times before. It's not your first team players that win you
trophies but your squad. And today, against Bolton Wanderers, Arsenal has to begin relying even
more on the quality of the squad players. This process had really started since the beginning of
the season with the injury to Gallas giving Senderos the chance to show what he can do.
Bolton had a very tough task on hand tonight in the UEFA Cup:
away against Bayern Munich and did very well to earn a hard fought draw.
Relegation zone, one win in the league, struggling, but with a new manager in Gary
Megson and a recent creep in their form, there was a chance which they took.
Premier League boo-boy, El-Hadji Diouf is a January target for form Bolton boss Sam Allardyce
according to the Sunday Mirror. Diouf has been linked with a move away from the Reebok stadium
after a poor start to the campaign by Bolton and Magpies boss Allardyce is said to be very keen on
bringing him to St James' Park.
The Senegal midfielder was said to be upset by the departure of Allardyce from Bolton at the back
end of last season and the 26-year old would be open to a move north.
