Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden could soon feature in the national team according to USA manager Jurgen Klinsmann. The midfielder last made a competitive appearance for the national team back in 2010. He suffered a broken leg while playing for the national team and he has been on the road to recovery since then.
Stuart Holden has been making steady progress on the field since returning to full health, but he has yet to be named to a game-day roster for Bolton Wanderers in league play.
That might change this weekend.
Holden appears set to make Bolton's 18-man roster for their Saturday visit to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

It has become something of a cliché in recent years to suggest that the Football League Championship is rather more difficult to fall into than it is to get out of in an upwardly direction. There is a swathe of clubs in this division who have found this out to their cost, and amongst those currently experiencing this is a club that spent thirteen of its previous seasons living the high life in the Premier League: Bolton Wanderers.
That's right. Owen Coyle has been relieved of his duties by Bolton, who currently lie 18th in the Championship after a fairly pap start to their post-relegation season in the second tier.
Newcastle United is closely monitoring Jay Spearing's potential availability at Liverpool and considering bidding for the midfielder as long as the slump that has taken Alan Pardew's team to one place above the relegation zone does not get any worse and sends them into the Championship. Spearing has spent this season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he has already won player of the year awards from two different supporters' groups.
Which player has the best win percentage at every Premier League club that has played in the top flight of England from 1992-2013?
Some of the findings may surprise you. Out of the 45 teams who have played in the Premier League since it was founded, there are memorable names from the history of British football with greats such as Alan Shearer.
The goalkeepers of the Premier League often get overlooked as people prefer to see goals scored rather than saved, but there have been some truly incredible goalkeepers who have graced our shores. H ere are my top 10 goalkeepers that ......

As an American, when I was first introduced to the Premier League I was intrigued by the idea of relegation to a lower league along with lower tier teams moving up. I will admit that it took me a bit to truly grasp this. Since then I have enjoyed this aspect of the EPL and watching the battle at the bottom.

Manchester United were the club who picked up the most Premier League points during 2012. They are followed by their city rivals Manchester City who despite losing the same number of games as United, couldn't convert many of their draws to wins.
Premier League table for the calendar year 2012
Interestingly Everton picked up more points than both Chelsea and Arsenal during 2012 though this may have something to do with the fact that Everton played more games than both Chelsea and Arsenal during the year.

With the transfer window coming up, we can all count on one thing for certain. There will be non-stop chatter about what teams must do if they are going to "push for the top" or "avoid regulation". Rumors and arguments will be rampant. The blogosphere will be on full hype 24/7. There will be no peace until the window finally, blessedly closes with people blathering up to the last minute about possible deals.
Former Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan has come out today and said he is looking forward to returning to St. James' Park, where he spent 30 months after being signed from Bolton Wanderers for £4M in January of 2010. Kevin Nolan while at Newcastle he always gave 100% And Kevin captained Newcastle and helped us [.
Don't look so worried Kevin, it warms up in August A strange little rumour has been floating about the Greater Manchester area tonight as multiple Bolton Wanderer-related websites (here and here) claim a Trotter's hero may be set to join Toronto FC. While lacking major press backing yet, the whispers say that 36-year-old Bolton striker Kevin Davies may seek one last paycheque on this side of the pond.
Somebody needs a cuddle. It's the beginning of the week and that means Toronto FC needs to make some news! A week after their controversial appointment of Ryan Nelsen as manager, the club are reportedly set to add a veteran presence in Julio Cesar. Now hold up Stefan Frei supporters - it's not Nelsen's teammate, the QPR goalkeeper, but Brazilian journeyman defender/midfielder Julio Cesar Santos Correa.

We've all thought it at one point or another, but for most of us clipping the referee's heels as he runs away remained firmly in our minds. Not for Brighton's Ashley Barnes, however, who earned himself a red card during his side's match against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium for doing exactly that on referee [.
The Metropolitan Police arrested six Millwall fans during yesterday's Championship match with Derby County at the New Den after an obscene banner was unfurled in the stands proclaiming Bolton striker Marvin Sordell to be a 'c**t' for reporting the racial abuse he suffered when the two sides met at the ground back in October.

Everton visit the Reebok Stadium on Saturday to take on Bolton in a crucial FA Cup Fourth Round match.
David Moyes' side have played very well this season in the Premier League and currently sit fifth in the table only three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur but have stumbled a little lately and have not scored since January 7th against Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup.
Six Premier League sides are in action today as each of them have another chance to qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup. Each team has a FA Cup third round replay in their path. Today's FA Cup ... Continue reading →

Sunderland's trip to the Reebok Stadium could best be described using the cliche of 'a game of two halves'. Sunderland were poor during the first half and the Championship side deservedly led at the break. It was a lead they doubled when Keith Andrews headed home but, after Steven Fletcher had pulled one back for [.
With his road to recovery now complete, Stuart Holden has his sights set on regaining his starting spot with Bolton Wanderers and he might get a chance to stake his claim this weekend.
Having been rested for last weekend's match against Crystal Palace, Holden will be available for selection when Bolton takes on Tim Howard and Everton in their FA Cup clash on Saturday.
AS Roma are one step closer towards winning some hardware and reaching the 2013-14 UEFA Europa League, and Michael Bradley is a big reason as to why that is.
Roma were locked in a scoreless stalemate with Fiorentina and penalty kicks were looming in their Coppa Italia quarterfinals match on Wednesday, but Bradley stepped up to help give the Giallorossi a 1-0 extra-time victory by playing a part in setting up the winner.
After spending more than a month and a half on the sidelines, Tim Ream returned to Bolton Wanderers' starting lineup in the first game under interim manager Jimmy Phillips. But Ream surely did not put forth the type of comeback game he would have wanted.
Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton midfielder who collapsed on the pitch at White Hart Lane last season, has blamed his collapse on intensive training he was doing at the club. If true, it makes you wonder how closely Premier League clubs ... Continue...
Paolo Di Canio says he ultimate aim is to become England manager. The Swindon Town manager was asked about reports linking him with the vacant Bolton job. He said he was flattered by those rumours, but he clearly has bigger fish to fry. He said: "But the dream is, once I'm well known here and [...]
We continue our series of archived videos of the Football League Championship this afternoon with Middlesbrough, and six matches from the years between 1969 and 1992 which feature pitch invasions, local derby wins and promotion parties. Our first match, however, is a little more mundane. With the club having played no Division One football between 1955 and 1974, it is perhaps unsurprising that the club seldom featured on Match Of The Day.
Last season: Things got off to an ugly start, as Sebastien Le Toux's rumored trial with Bolton Wanderers turned into a fiasco. Le Toux returned, and the Union immediately shipped him off to Vancouver. This capped off the dismantling of a 2011 playoff team and saw their fanbase turn on Peter Nowak, who seemed to not be aware that fans will question team leadership when they do things that defy explanation.
Owen Coyle may have been out of work for a while since being relieved from his duties by Bolton Wanderers, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been getting his face out there. Literally. And in a rather bizarre turn-up, Coyle has appeared on a computer game as a gangster, namely Emmet 'Doc' O'Connell in Omerta: [.
10! 10! 10! Fabrice Muamba received top marks on Christmas Day for making another huge and rather glittery step in his recovery from the cardiac arrest he suffered on the pitch in March. Just nine months on from being seconds from death and being told he can never play football again, the former [.
The Portland Timbers aren't the only team in MLS to be blowing up their squad as Real Salt Lake has shed a few players over the weekend. Of course, where others falter, the Timbers can only gain! The most recent boon comes in the form of Will Johnson, which we reported on yesterday, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise.
Their Words "There are no complaints from me. We have come away with four points from two of the top teams in the league." Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman. Other Sources D.C. United says it can weather the MLS playoff storm vs. Red Bulls - from The Washington Post's Steven Goff: "Our team is built for that.
Today marks the 125th year anniversary of Everton Football Club. One hundred and twenty five years ago today, Everton played Bolton Wanderers in 1887 in a FA Cup first round match that was later ordered to be replayed because the Trotters fielded an ineligible player. Everton's match against Bolton was the club's first professional match.
When Daniel Levy sacked Harry Redknapp in May, It would have been difficult to find a manager so contrastingly different from his predecessor than the one appointed, Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese is a young and enthusiastic prodigy who never played professionally, while Redknapp is a 64 year old veteran of the game, having played and then managed extensively across England (a three year spell in America aside) for the past forty-seven years.
