This man will be the next West Ham manager

5
We've got it straight from the biscuit tin - the shortlist of managers West Ham's owners are considering and the man who is odds-on favourite to manage the Hammers, at least in September 2008. But first, the candidates: West Ham's Final Five 1. Roberto Mancini: Popular choice amongst the fans, can't speak English (or Icelandic for that matter) [. Click to continue reading...

Top 11 Football Rejects: Ronaldo, Ljungberg, Appiah, Canizares and Davids lead the way

So, the transfer deadline (August 31) has passed and the football market is now closed. Closed? Not quite. Indeed, while transfers from one club to another will have to wait until January to resume, teams may still sign players as free agents (and that until March 31, 2009). So, inspired from this Top 11 Serie A [. Click to continue reading...

Shoud the transfer window close before the season starts?

1
Few noticed last week when Juande Ramos called for a shortening of the transfer window, but the nuclear fallout from Monday's race to the finish seems to support his argument. Prior to Monday, Robinho had been settling in nicely at for another season at Real Madrid, Kevin Keegan was sorting out his first proper [. Click to continue reading...

Chelsea ‘fans’ defect to Man City

The Premiership woke up this morning to a lot of excitement. Everton fans were celebrating breaking their transfer record, West Ham fans were incredulous that they had sold half their defence without replacing them, Liverpool fans were "overjoyed" at signing two foreign 18 year olds to add to their increasing collection of foreign 18 year olds, [. Bolton captain urges fans to ‘get behind behind team’ after altercation on Saturday

Looking at the Premier League table, you might be forgiven for assuming that Bolton Wanderers have got off to a decent start this season. Indeed, if they hadn't missed from the penalty spot at St James' Park ten days ago, they could have seven points to show from their first ... Click to continue reading...

Blackburn could have won against West Ham

As in the first two weekends of the Premier League season, there's another two incidents that have come under the spotlight of the Right Result. West Ham United and Blackburn Rovers had featured in the first fortnight's judgments and their meeting at Upton Park alerted the RR panel. Especially to the frustration of Rovers manager Paul Ince, [. Click to continue reading...

A boring game and a big signing

0

We could have done a lot worse, a loss would not have helped our cause. But the game against West-Brom yesterday which ended in an extremely boring 0-0 showed just how badly we need balls in the back of the net. The trotters were par with WBA in just about every category.

This brings me to a slightly more optimistic bit of news.

But maybe third time's the charm. Here are my predictions for week three in the Premier League. Saturday Bolton 1-1 West Bromwich Albion A win over Stoke [. Click to continue reading...

Premier League Predictions: Gameweek 3

Can we not talk about last week's predictions please? Well I guess you want to laugh at me with the same intensity I kicked my own backside. Only five predictions correct (eleven of twenty so far this season), missed the banker entirely (one for two on banker predictions). The only two solaces I had was [. Click to continue reading...

Weekend Predictions: Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Villa to win, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Man City to lose

I've never really understood the need for foreign travel. It makes no sense to leave a perfectly good country for a significantly poorer one; although this is never a real problem for the Welsh. When I have capitulated to convention, I have found the experience quite pleasurable. I particularly enjoyed my timeshare in an [. Click to continue reading...

What To Do About The League Cup?

0
It's the end of August. This means, of course, that it's time for our annual dissection of what is wrong with the League Cup. This year's Second Round has already been played, and it has already provided a couple of surprises, including Northampton Town beating Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United knocking out Wolverhampton Wanderers on [. Late but I didn’t want to write about it.

Can't deny it for much longer. Two bad losses, one was a missed penalty at the Toon and the other was a 2-1 loss to a lowly Northampton. It looked so positive last week but these losses are making us look like Bolton of last year. I just want Jimmy Bullard and a bolstered midfield. I'm sorry that I haven't been writing but these games rarely come on over here.
