Samir Nasri, who played all 90 minutes and picked up a Fantasy Premier League bonus point in
Arsenal's opening day draw at Liverpool, should be back for the match against Bolton next weekend.
Nasri has recovered from his knee injury ... Continue reading →
In the years gone by I'd have talked about Bolton with a degree of contempt in a manner similar
to what I use for Stoke or Blackburn. This has changed somewhat since the appointment of Owen
Coyle, one of the few English managers that I respect. Even then, and with due respect, I
don't expect Bolton to be any different from the other mid-table teams that come to the
Emirates.
Well this has nothing to do with Arsenal. In fact, Arsenal are conspicuous by their absence in
the names that Allardyce has mentioned. But I haven't stopped laughing since I read this so it's
worth sharing.
Speaking before the game against Fulham, Fat Sam said:
I'm not suited to Bolton or Blackburn, I would be more suited to Inter Milan or Real Madrid.
Diaby on course for West Brom comeback | News Archive | News | Arsenal.com Abou Diaby is hoping to
return for the home game with West Brom on Saturday. The midfielder has been out since injuring his
ankle against Bolton a fortnight ago and will have a fitness test on Friday. Tomas Rosicky (ankle)
and Emmanuel Eboue (knee) also face examinations.
1. After telling the press we need to cut stupid mistakes out of our game, Patrice Evra wandered
far from the post he was supposed to be protecting to let Zat Knight put Bolton 1-0 up 6 minutes
in. Paddy's diving header to get back to where we should have been already was in vain. Simple
defending fail.

Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson's Fulham played to a deadlock with Tim Howard and last-place
Everton while Stuart Holden and Bolton frustrated Manchester United with an action-filled draw.
There really is little else around so I thought I'd reflect on the start to the season, and one
player in particular who looks re-born -Tomas Rosicky
This summer he was close to leaving, not of his own will I hastily add, but there has always
been big interest from Germany in him but Werder Bremen and Everton both inquired over his
availability as Arsenal were pursuing defenders from both the clubs, Phil Jagielka and Per
Mertesacker were the targets on the Arsenal side.
Mixed injury news ahead of Bolton game | News Archive | News | Arsenal.comNews from the Arsenal
camp is that Nasri will be back to training later this week (I wouldn't count on him to feature
this weekend though) and that RvP will be on the bench until mid-October. With RvP's injury
history you can't think this comes as a big surprise.
After the international break, Chelsea resume their Premier League campaign at West Ham on Saturday
and its another chance for Chelsea to grab another early three points. With United away in a tricky
game at Everton we simply have to win and I have to say, the way we are playing right now, West
Ham's dismal start to their season and pressure mounting already on Avram Grant, I can only
see a Chelsea win.
It was indeed another special afternoon of Premier League action and rest assured, a lot of
drama was involved throughout. From Goodison Park all the way down to the Emirates Stadium, there
was plenty of action that ended up impacting the league table in more ways than one.
The day started at Merseyside with Manchester United's visit to Everton.
While it is good that US International Stewart Holden is playing 90 minutes with Bolton, a look
at his passes reveals that he is a casualty of Bolton's philosophy. Arsenal controls possession,
completes way more passes... Picture worth a thousand words...

While it has been Chelsea taking the Premier League by storm during the opening few weeks of the
season, their London rivals Arsenal have gradually been gradually continuing their solid start to
the campaign.
Arsene Wenger's side have been in very impressive form so far this season.
This was one of those rare games that falls in the category, Easier Done Than Said. Many
expected Braga to put up a stronger challenge. Given their wins over Celtic and Sevilla in the
qualifying stages it was a justified opinion. I thought the occasion, first time ever in the
Champions League, got to them.
Arsenal needed until extra-time to dispose of Tottenham 4-1, while Owen Coyle's Bolton suffered a
shock defeat to Burnley in Carling Cup action on Tuesday night. League One hosts Brentford also
caused a major upset as they held struggling Everton to a 1-1 stalemate in regular time before
dumping the Toffees out 4-3 on penalties.
Manchester United come away from the Reebok Stadium with just a point today, after a
disappointing performance against Bolton Wanderers.
Nani's brilliant solo goal and substitute Michael Owen's headed effort saw United come from
behind twice in a game they dominated.
United dominated from the opening moments of the game but were behind after 6 minutes after poor
defending from Jonny Evans allowed Zat Knight to nip in front of him and steer Martin Petrov's
corner past Edwin Van der Sar.
As the Premier League wraps up its 6th Gameweek, the league table begins to take a familiar yet
still somewhat open shape. Manchester United failed to take advantage of the losses suffered by
Chelsea and Arsenal when they made the short journey to Bolton and came away with only a point.
Once more, it's a tale of Manchester United shooting themselves in the foot. Such talent oozing
from the walls of Old Trafford, but thus far this season, United have failed to produce the desired
results on the road. United are uncharacteristically chucking goals (and points) left and right
and that worrying trend shows no sign of abating, given the result at Bolton.
So all of a sudden the task facing Manchester United in the group stages of the Champions League is
not as straight forward as it looked a month ago is it? A first up scoreless draw with
Glasgow...

What a weekend it was. First Chelsea dropped their first points of the season and then the other
top half teams spurned the opportunity to make up significant ground one after the other from
Arsenal's embarrassment at home against WBA to Spurs loss at Upton Park followed by Liverpool's
draw with Sunderland and finally ManYoo's draw at Bolton.
While Manchester United will understandably be lamenting the absence of Ryan Giggs in Valencia on
Wednesday night, one of the most disappointed will be Spain World Cup winner Juan Mata. The
Valencia...

According to Bolton's official website, Bolton have terminated the contract of
defender Danny Shittu by mutual consent.
For the first time Premier League teams had to name a 25-man squad for the first half of the EPL
season and there was a couple of surprises.
All 20 clubs had to submit a squad of up to 25 players containing no more than 17 players who do
not qualify as homegrown. Homegrown players are classed as players who "irrespective of his
nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the
Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months
prior to his 21st birthday".
Ahead of our home game with Oldham a fortnight ago, Latics fan Dave Butterworth gave us the
lowdown on the Latics.
Dave, two out of two and a top of the table clash. Has the strong start to the season
come as a surprise to Oldham fans ?
Before the start of pre-season the answer would have been a definite ‘yes', given that we
haven't changed the squad that failed miserably last season.
UPDATE: According to Sky Sports News, free agent Danny Shittu
admitted that he has interest from European and Middle Eastern clubs. Shittu said,
"I believe quitting Bolton was the right step to take as I didn't have options to play at Bolton
...
According to the Mirror, Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri is ahead of time in his recovery process
from knee surgery and is expected to feature next week against Bolton. The Frenchman underwent
minor surgery on his knee ...
Sydney FC are rubbish. No matter what way you look at it. Too slow, lacking energy and passion, too
inexperienced and a poor keeper to boot. And the Coach likes his team to play slow, almost
walking..it's pathetic Vitislav.
You've heard the phrase, "they bought a championship," and you can readily name Chelsea, Man
United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and many others who have.
Macoumba Kandji is a 25 year-old Senegal-born striker who currently plays for the New York
Red Bulls. After being raised in Gambia, Kandji made his way to the States in 2003, and resided
in Charlotte, North Carolina. After spending a short time in the USL Premier Development League,
Kandji was snagged by the Red Bulls and has been a success ever since.
It might seem a long way off before Liverpool play their next league game against Birmingham.
But I hope there is some radical thinking going in the meantime because after struggling against a
Midlands side last weekend, one who we should have beaten pretty easily at home, we cannot afford
to run things so close again.
I apologize for my Jonathan Spector v. Ryan Giggs like effort this week, but I've had too much
going on. Forgive me, lets all get drunk and forget about it this weekend...deal? Bolton @
Southampton 8/24/10 Stu Holden entered the Carling Cup match in the 66th minute for the away side
and did his part to secure the 1-0 victory.
According to Bolton's official website, Bolton youngster Danny
Ward has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him there until the summer of
2013.
Robin van Persie's ankle injury which he sustained during Arsenal's win over Blackburn, will
keep the Dutch hit-man on the bench for at least six weeks.
Initially, the Gunners were hoping to see the 27 year-old striker back on the pitch for
Saturday's home game against Bolton. Instead of missing a matter of days, Van Persie will be out
through the middle of October.
According to Marc Iles at The Bolton News, Bolton boss Owen
Coyle admitted the club will eventually have trouble holding onto defender Gary
Cahill. Coyle said,
"There will come a day, and I hope it doesn't come in January, that Gary Cahill will probably
outgrow the football club, given the finance involved in it .
Injuries are always going to happen, but I'd much rather they happen now than a few months down
the line.
If we are lucky Theo will just miss this weekends game against Bolton at home which is no real
biggie, Robin van Persie will be missing for Bolton, Braga, Sunderland, Spurs, West Brom, Belgrade,
Chelsea and Birmingham the majority of them we can survive without him.
Arsenal midfielder Denilson could make his first appearance of the season this weekend when the
Gunners host Bolton at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Brasilian declared
how Owen Coyle's side should not ...
I have been reading through the other blogs lately and there just isnt much to talk about during
the International break.
You find writers are scratching around to put something together or attempting to produce a
creative piece of writing on the Arsenal.
To sum up what has happened -
- England won I actually enjoyed the first half!

Although Chelsea will take on a West Ham side that are rock-bottom of the Premier League on
Saturday, the trip to Upton Park represents Ancelotti's toughest task so far this season, and
Chelsea will have to up their game to continue their stunning start to the season.
Chelsea have had nothing short of seamless start.
