Supporters of Stu Holden, the USMNT player and former Houston Dynamo star, have been singing the
midfielder's praise all season for his breakout role with Bolton. Now Holden, in his first English
Premier League season, is also getting recognized by the fans there as well.
Readers of "The Guardian," using their average player ratings for each EPL match, have chosen the
American international as their "best player so far this term".

So in the past two weeks Robbie Findley and Edson Buddle have been linked to every English side
that is not part of "the Big Four" or owned by an American. According to various U.K. media outlets
(which by nature are very* trustworthy) these two have Everton, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton,
Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, and Bolton all up on their collective jock right now.

'Twas fairly inevitable that, after losing defensive mainstay Jamie Carragher
for three months yesterday, Liverpool would find themselves linked with replacement centre-backs
hither and thither until January and the Daily Star, perpetual front-runners in their field, have
been first off the mark.
Here's some statistics showing the minutes per goal scored by some of the top strikers in our
league in all competitions for their club.

Arsenal on Twitter @UntoldArsenal Untold Arsenal on Facebook here By Tony Attwood A while ago the
excellent Swiss Ramble covered Bolton. Bolton, (generally known as Notlob in these august
columns), a team symbolic of all that was previously wrong with football: rotational fouling,
rotational time wasting, and the snarling antediluvian himself: the Fat Slug.
Craig Gordon's miraculous save yesterday for Sunderland vs Bolton must be the
save of the season already not many saves will be as good as this one below.
Greatest save ever? It has been an incredibly frustrating weekend with the sodding weather, but
Craig Gordon has taken it upon himself to brighten up everyone's time off, and also confirm a
victory in save of the season competition with a wonder save from Zat Knight of Bolton. Best save

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has admitted he would not stand in Johan Elamander's way, should he wish to
leave the club in January.
Elmander is Bolton's record-signing after joining the club from Toulouse for around £10 million in
2008, and the 29-year-old has been in magnificent goalscoring form of late – which has seen him
linked heavily with a move to Liverpool.

Manchester City may be level with Arsenal on points at the top of the Premier league table, but
the club is far from over the moon after a recent request from their star striker. The Guardian is
reporting that Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has handed in a transfer request to leave
Manchester City.

Less than year after leaving the Houston Dynamo and MLS for Europe, Stuart Holden has made a splash
not only at his club, middle of the table Bolton, but in the English Premier League itself.
On its website, the British paper The Guardian allows its readers to submit player ratings for each
game played in the EPL.
After the surprisingly impressive first half of the season Sunderland have enjoyed, the club may be
revaluating their goals for this term. Steve Bruce's side have stormed to sixth place in the league
and now face the very real possibility of European football coming to the Stadium of Light next
season.
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken ahead of tomorrow. He said:
"Arsenal knows very well our skills and ability, and we also know their ability, their
skills. Obviously we want to try the same game we played against them and reach the same
result.
Arsenal has fantastic ability to play fantastic football, maybe they concede something defensively
and we have to use our ability to find the right space to create difficulties in their defensive
line.
Fox Soccer Channel has Chelsea vs Stuart Holden's Bolton at 2:30pm. Same time for Wigan - Arsenal
on Fox Soccer Plus. Liverpool host Marcus Hahnemann's Wolverhampton at 5pm on FSC. ESPN Deportes
has Club America - Chivas in a friendly at 10pm. All Times Eastern
Despite what some of the readers may think, I'm not a supporter of the Big Four clubs in the
Premier League. I enjoy watching them. But I enjoy watching them the same as I do the other 16 that
form the Premier League. But what I do especially enjoy is a couple of days like Monday and Tuesday
where the headlines didn't revolve around the massive clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United and
Liverpool winning matches.
As expected Carlo Ancelotti's future has been called into question once more and the rumours have
gained much more momentum since Arsenal on Monday night. Of course Guus Hiddink's name is being
touted about again as a replacement for Ancelotti but it is believed he doesn't want the day to day
management again.
1. Arsene Wenger must be sick of late goals at the DW Stadium. 2. It's a good job Paul Konchesky
was subbed off last night or Liverpool fans would have had nothing to cheer at all. 3. Charles
N'Zogbia's headbutt was a bit over the top, but we did hear that Jack Wilshere was trying [...]
Once again, it's the English Premier League with most of our weekend options, though La Liga also
returns on Sunday. Saturday ESPN2 has WBA - Manchester United at 7:30am. On Fox Soccer Channel,
Manchester City - Blackburn is at 10am, Birmingham City - Arsenal starts at 12:30pm, and Spurs
hosts the Americans at Fulham at 2:30pm.
Jamie Carragher's shoulder injury sustained against Spurs on Sunday will keep the centre-back out
until at least March leaving Roy with some thinking to do.
In a bid to strengthen a rather light defensive outfit, Hodgson will look to splash the cash on
Bolton's highly rated Gary Cahill. A bid upwards of roughly £12million should be enough to get
Bolton's attention.
Arsenal host Fulham, Blackpool welcome Manchester United, Spurs go to Birmingham City, Bolton go to
Manchester City, Chelsea host Everton, Wolves visit Blackburn, Wigan welcome Stoke, West Brom and
Newcastle clash and Sunderland host West Ham.

The Scottish Football Blog, unlike the 2018 World Cup, is going to England. To the land of
Manchester's United and City, of Newcastle and Bolton, Chelsea and Blackpool.
Why? Because there's only one Scottish game on this weekend. And because regular English Premier
League guest blogger, Mark Briggs is back.
A fourth minute Carlos Tevez goal was enough to see Manchester
City claim all three points against Bolton. However City finished the
game with ten men after defender Kolorov was sent off for two yellow cards late in
the game.

With one glance at the Premier League table, there is obviously something quite odd about it. It
looks as if the gap between the very best and the once 'average' teams has decreased. And quite
rapidly, too. There's almost a feeling of 'decline' amongst the top three; but that only tells
half of the story.
Though the caveat see Manchester United with a game in hand, Arsenal is now on top of the
Premier League, and there's only one person to thank for it. It was another breakthrough
performance for Samir Nasri, who led the Gunners to a 2-1 win over Fulham and the top spot in the
English Premier League.
Well, we had to lose at some point I suppose. After an unbeaten November, the first game of
December brings us a lackluster loss. As losses go, there have definitely been worse. We didn't
deserve a win, but we didn't play hopelessly either, and despite having roughly 86 minutes to put
the game away, City never converted one of their myriad chances.

With Manchester United's match in Blackpool postponed and Chelsea being drawn by Everton at the
Bridge, Arsenal's win over Fulham sent the Gunners top, with Samir Nasri vaulting himself into the
league's elite. On a team level, Manchester City may have done the some, with their 1-0 win over
Bolton underscored by their more creative display of football this season.
England experienced a cold front last week but by the time Saturday's fixtures kicked off things
were already warming up. Chelsea's draw against Everton sees manager Carlo
Ancelotti sweating like never before. But Ancelotti isn't the only manager in London
feeling the heat.
