It's being reported that USA and Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden fractured his right fibula in
yesterday's match with the Netherlands and will be out for at least six weeks. Holden, originally
from Aberdeen, Scotland, had played fairly well before a hard challenge from Nigel De Jong forced
his substitution in the 30th minute.
Charles N'Zogbia is in the form of his life and with 2 doubles in GW26 and GW30 this lad could
prove incredible value. He has knocked home three goals in the last six games that Wigan have
played, and has two double gameweeks coming up in gameweek 26 and gameweek 30. Wigan's runs of
fixtures is also appealing, the toughest opposition between now and March being Tottenham at home.
Good to see USA International Stuart Holden in a starting role at Bolton. More touches on the
ball over 90 minutes would be better, however, Bolton has a long-ball style of play.

Lots of American transfer updates this morning, so I'm lumping them all together. I'm
pulling most of this from the excellent Soccer By Ives...
• In Germany, Kicker is reporting that Ricardo Clark has signed with
Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season, with the club having the option to extend the deal
for another three years.

the goal while Bolton was down to 10 men.

So I was one game early on my prediction... Bolton winter catch Stuart Holden is in the line-up at
White Hart Lane for a fifth round FA Cup replay. He's playing the middle, at least from the start.I
will be popping in with periodic game updates at the S365 Twitter. I will return here later with
clips of any Holden goal involvement, then finally the highlight reel.
Having royally cocked up our trip to Wolves with a bizarre team selection, Harry has the chance
to make amends against Bolton on Sunday.
He's indicated the he will field his strongest side, which will mean Corluka and King returning
to the back four, Palacios replacing Jenas and Crouch coming in for Gudjohnsen.
Supporters of Stu Holden, the USMNT player and former Houston Dynamo star, have been singing the
midfielder's praise all season for his breakout role with Bolton. Now Holden, in his first English
Premier League season, is also getting recognized by the fans there as well.
Readers of "The Guardian," using their average player ratings for each EPL match, have chosen the
American international as their "best player so far this term".

Arsenal is crouched in the shadows just waiting to pounce...
... and is 4 points out of the top of the Premier League table and they've officially made it
look like a 3-team race. Earlier it had seemed that Tottenham or Aston Villa would make mighty
challengers for Chelsea and ManU but now it is evident that Arsenal intends to stand its ground and
not budge out of the Top 3 in order to give last year's finalists a run for their money.
This gameweek it is doubletime for Manchester City, Stoke, Bolton and Wigan in Barclays Premier
League. And out of those four it's Manchester City who has the easiest feast. Bolton at home and
Stoke away. Emmanuel Adebayor is back from the ill-fated trip to African Cup and has scored in last
2 matches.
Just what we need to hear from one of Arsenal fans favourites. Robin says it's time to get
tough and get in the faces of the opposition. We need to do unto others what they so love to do to
us. Play the pretty football, yes, but when the chips are down, put the pretty stuff on the back
burner and start showing some grit and steel.
Stuart Holden appeared for Bolton as a second half substitute on Sunday, marking the midfielder's
return from injury after a broken leg. Holden entered the game in the 70th minute for Bolton and
helped his club preserve a 2-1 win against Birmingham on the final day of the season. The former
Houston Dynamo player has been out since March after he sustained a broken leg in the USA's game
against the Netherlands on March 3.
There are signs of a new Fulham emerging. Mark Hughes won't want to change too much too soon,
but a few clever tweaks seem to have added something and today we were unfortunate not to beat a
decent Bolton side.
The first half was quite even, Bolton perhaps shading it. David Stockdale, playing in place of
the suspiciously injured Mark Schwarzer, had a bit to do and did most of it well: a superb
full-stretch save from Martin Petrov was a highlight, not least because he caught the ball, which
'keepers don't tend to do these days.
Bolton big man Kevin Davies and his wifey hit up the Panto's On Strike show at the Opera House in
Manchester Tuesday night. Kev's looking quite fetching these days, no? Make sure you follow him on
Twitter and check out his Kids of Bolton charity.
Is this spectacular ground Holden's next home?

For the past several years in the United States, the majority of soccer fans who were watching
Premier League matches saw — for the most part — the same games. The vast majority of us
watched the Saturday 10am ET game on Fox Soccer Channel, as well as the 12:30pm ET one and the

Stuart Holden ... still in the hunt for a U.S. roster spot

While everyone leans in close to Bob Bradley, squinting their eyes to see his hand ahead of the
manager's upcoming roster selections, here's a little bit of news that he and everyone else will
enjoy: Stuart Holden could very well get some minutes this weekend for Bolton.

The day has some for those Houston Dynamo fans, their club no now longer has Stuart Holden.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed that the club will sign Holden as one of two winter
acquisitions.
Holden joins former Dynamo teammate Ricardo Clark, who has signed with Eintracht Frankfurt, as
Americans to make major transfer moves from MLS this winter.
From Kickette.com
Taken from an interview with Guillem Balague not too long ago, this is what Cesc Fabregas
said,
I don't like to give specific instructions, but sometimes you see something clearly, like a
teammate who isn't making a pass because he wants to do it on his own.
England's hopes resting on Rooney's knee?
A quick update for all of you Fantasy
Premier League managers, Manchester United fans, and England National Team supporters.
Wayne Rooney's niggling knee injury is only getting worse.
The striker limped away from Old Trafford on Sunday and is thought to be suffering from an inflamed
tendon.
And if you literally scanned the 'Nats training room today, you'd probably run into Oguchi Onyewu.
He's in for some fitness testing and will be back with AC Milan this weekend.Meanwhile, AGF says
Benny Feilhaber is expected to be back in the line-up on Monday. Finally, Stuart Holden has returned
to Bolton from a rehab center and is walking without crutches.
So in the past two weeks Robbie Findley and Edson Buddle have been linked to every English side
that is not part of "the Big Four" or owned by an American. According to various U.K. media outlets
(which by nature are very* trustworthy) these two have Everton, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton,
Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, and Bolton all up on their collective jock right now.
Photo by ISIphotos.comStuart Holden's trial with Bolton is going well, and manager Owen Coyle has revealed that he is
considering offering Holden a contract.
Coyle wouldn't say anything definite about a contract, but he did state that Holden was doing
well during his trial.

If you plan on kidnapping any WAGS, I'm gonna have to go ahead and warn against it. Not just for
the moral and legal problems such an activity would present, but also because now they have this
panic alarm disguised as an iPod that sounds like it would thoroughly ruin any WAG-napping
plans.
"Stuart has been training with us and he has done well," Bolton manager Owen Coyle said. "He has a
great energy and desire, and he wants to show that he can play in the best league in the world, so
he is a young man with a point to prove."
With the European transfer windows closing up, another crop of Americans have made moves to
Europe with the hope of finding some success and improving their standing in the race for World Cup
roster spots.
While Landon Donovan has made a great impact since joining Everton on loan, his time with the
Toffees is set to end in March (unless you believe the stories that Everton is ready to make MLS a
strong offer for his services).
With so many injury situations to sweat, USMNT fans crave good fitness news more than ever.In that
light, I'd like to offer great hope (via a more optimistic sounding birdie) that Bolton signing
Stuart Holden will dress in England for the first time Saturday against FA Cup foes Tottenham,
while one or both of DaMarcus Beasley and Maurice Edu could be back in the Rangers selection
against third

Fulham have revealed their home kit for the 2010-11 season. The new kit is manufactured by Kappa
and was designed in their research and development center in Turin, Italy. It maintains Fulham's
classic look of a white shirt with black trim, but the first thing that fans will notice is the
unusual sponsorship plastered on the front of the kit.
Bolton
Who they have bought: Martin Petrov, Marcos Alonso, Robbie Blake
Who they need: Petrov on a free is the buy of the season but Bolton may need
one or two more to improve on last year. (Central midfielder, full back)
Who they should buy: Jamie O'Hara, Jack Wiltshire (on loan), Lee Naylor, Alan
Hutton, Tom Cleverley (Loan), Juan Roman Riquelme, Karim Matmour, Araujo Ilan, James Beattie
Chelsea
Who they have bought: Yossi Benayoun, Tomáš Kalas, Ramires (Apparently)
Who they need: A Deco replacement (Ramires), a Carvalho replacement, a Ballack
replacement.
Overall Outlook - What a difference a new manager makes. There was a time when we said "never bet
on or against Bolton" because they tended to engage in meat-grinder-like matches that produced more
yellow cards and fouls than fantasy points. Players of much quality didn't want to play there.
Now, with the introduction of Owen Coyle midway through last season players with some skill are
Blt 1-1 Mu Blt 2-2 Mu "VIDEO: Nani and Owen Goals Against Bolton" was
originally published at The Republik of Mancunia.
Quite a week for Gareth Bale, now universally regarded as being up there alongside Pele, sliced
bread, the wheel and opposable thumbs on the list of The Best Things Anyone Has Ever Seen Anywhere,
Ever. Unfortunately, and I suppose inevitably, one publication has gone completely overboard in
their praise of the chap, the Daily Telegraph going to the ludicrous extent of describing
Bale as "photogenic".
Discussion will now turn to when the fixture can be rescheduled. There are few available midweek
slots in a season that will finish early, to allow England extra time to prepare for the World Cup.
As neither club has an FA Cup replay next week, Tuesday or Wednesday night may be an option.
Coincidentally, Bolton are due to play Arsenal in the Premier League at the Reebok Stadium a week
on Sunday.
As a number of you have commented in the gameweek preview, some Premier League matches have already
been postponed due to icy weather conditions. They are:
- Burnley v. Stoke
- Fulham v. Portsmouth
- Sunderland v. Bolton
- Hull v. Chelsea
- Liverpool v. Tottenham
For those of you who wait until last minute to make transfers, it may be wise to keep
procrastinating.
