In preparation for every game, Arsene Wenger gives his players a motivational handout that helps to
focus his team on the task ahead. A copy of the handout was found in a Bolton hotel for this past
weekend's 3-1 win by Arsenal at the Reebok Stadium. Here's a transcript of what the handout said:
Confidential Team meeting [.

Moving away from tomorrows League game against Bolton. Here's a couple of pics which should get
some fans laughing - take a look at this. From Redstate: Manchester United is arguably the largest
sports team in the world and its team shirt is recognized just about everywhere. Emblazoned on the
front is the logo of the team's [.
Discussing deliberate fouls on fellow professionals has become a bit taboo since Roy Keane's
admission about his pre-meditated knee-high tackle on Alf-Inge Haaland, but Bolton's Kevin Nolan
has broken the silence to say that he urged team-mate Jlloyd Samuel to foul Theo Walcott during
their match against Arsenal on Saturday.
In 11th hour Genoa made probably the most impressive move of the transfer deadline by bringing back
Diego Milito from Real Zaragoza. Arrivals 02/09/2008 Iago Falqué Barcelona to Juventus
01/09/2008 Bosko Jankovic to Genoa 01/09/2008 D. Brivio Vicenza to Genoa (Loan) 01/09/2008 Djordje
Rakic Salzburg to Reggina (Loan) 01/09/2008 G.
Cristiano Ronaldo got all the headlines after Man Utd's 2-0 win over Bolton, mostly for the way he
won Utd's penalty (which he also converted.) You can see what happened in the video above. Did
Ronaldo dive? Or did he just innocently fall and Rob Styles was dumb enough to award a pen? Or
maybe you [.

An excellent three-points at the Reebok against a team that used to intimidate us, and who managed
to put us on the back foot in the early stages of the game.
Despite opening brightly, and comprehensively out-passing Bolton, they took the lead through a goal
which, again, asked questions of our ability to defend from set-pieces.
Video highlights from the weekend's Premier League games: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke City Blackburn 1-0
Fulham West Ham 3-1 Newcastle Bolton 1-3 Arsenal "Premier League Highlights: Bolton 1-3
Arsenal, West Ham 3-1 Newcastle, Liverpool 0-0 Stoke, Blackburn 1-0 Fulham" was originally

On last week's Match of the Day, BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson claimed that if tackles like the one
Gael Clichy received at Bolton were banned, the game would be 'for the jessies'. The former
Liverpool defender's words will certainly come back to bite him. First Gael Clichy. Now Man
United's Rodrigo Possebon.
"George Bush today defended the US central bank's decision to bail out giant insurer AIG and
sought to reassure markets that his administration was intent on confronting the growing
crisis.
The AIG rescue was the fourth taxpayer-funded bailout of the year by the Bush administration,
although it is at odds with Bush's free-market ideology and economic policies.
With the sun shining down on the East stand, Bolton took the decision to allow United to attack the
Stretford End in the first half, something that rarely happens at Old Trafford. It was because of
this I didn't get a good view of the penalty incident, although, even from my poor view, I could
see [.
In this week's episode, Wayne Rooney conducts yet another insightful interview, this time with an
insider in the Newcastle takeover situation. Wazza, fresh off scoring a goal in United's 2-0 win
over Bolton yesterday, also receives some tactical instruction from Fabio Capello.
Enjoy.
Cristiano Ronaldo has missed two league games for United so far this season and is set to miss his
third when we take on Liverpool tomorrow. Reports back in August claimed that Ronaldo would be
playing by the end of September, with the Bolton game set to be his return date. He has today said
that he [.
Liverpool ended their miserable run against Manchester United after an odd own-goal from Wes Brown
and a late score from sub Ryan Babel gave them a 2-1 victory at Anfield. Elsewhere, Robinho scored
on his Citey debut but Chelsea rallied to win 3-1 despite a harsh red card on John Terry. Arsenal
won 4-0 over Blackburn as Adebayor netted a hat trick, Hull heaped more misery on Newcastle, Tim
Cahill made a timely return to give Everton the win over Stoke and Fulham beat Bolton at Craven
Cottage.
Arsenal took on a tough Bolton side at the Reebok this afternoon looking to extend their points in
the Premier League table. Arsene Wenger left Robin van Persie and England ace Theo Walcott on the
bench for the trip to the Reebok Stadium. Nicklas Bendtner was handed a start to partner Emmanuel
Adebayor up front and Emmanuel [.
The amber fluid was flowing in the land of ArseNews as a silky Arsenal side outclassed a tough
Bolton outfit. Megson's Men took the lead in the 14th minute as Kevin Davies climbed above Kolo
Toure to head in a Joey O'Brien corner. A lack of communication between Toure, William Gallas and
Gael Clichy [.
By 1970's Gooner Now don't tell me that Fabregas is tired because he didn't have a pre season! His
performance at Bolton was outstanding. There are a lot of Arsenal fans who take everything that a
certain blogger, who once wrote a very average book about "the professor", dreams up as a
fact of life.
Arsenal's French defensive duo Gael Clichy and summer signing Mikael Silvestre are fit for
Saturday's Premier League match with Hull City. Clichy, 22, was on the receiving end of a strong
challenge from Bolton's Kevin Davies and was immediately driven to hospital with what looked like
at the time, a broken leg.
As with the game against Manchester United, I felt awful before this game. And, as with the game
with Manchester United, I shouldn't have bothered. Rarely have Liverpool dominated with such ease
at Goodison Park (61% of possession, the stats showed at the end) and really it was a game that
could have been won by a bigger margin.
Notable arrivals: Borja Valero (Real Mallorca), Abdoulaye Meite (Bolton), Scott Carson (Liverpool),
Marek Cech (Porto), Roman Bednar (Hearts), Luke Moore (Aston Villa), Gianni Zuiverloon
(Heerenveen), Kim Do-Heon. Notable departures: Curtis Davies (Aston Villa), Kevin Phillips
(Birmingham City), Zoltan Gera (Fulham),.

City), Johan Elmander (Toulouse) Notable departures: Blerim Dzemaili (Torino, loan), Abdoulaye
Meite (West Brom), El Hadji Diouf (Sunderland), Ivan Campo. What grade do you give them for this
transfer...
Some great pictures of Jimmy Bullard training with England. I imagine this is like
seeing your little sister reading the evening news or something. I particularly like this one for
some reason. Cole, Defoe, Ferdinand, Rooney, Bullard. The boy's done well for himself.
What a reception he'll get at the Bolton game, eh?
Here's one of those random news stories we read about every season: Born in the same Liverpool
suburb as current well-known midfielders Steven Gerrard and Joey Barton, Peter Reid had a solid
playing career, most notably at Bolton, Everton, and Manchester City. He won the FA Cup and old
First Division twice (both at Everton).
In 11th hour Genoa made probably the most impressive move of the transfer deadline by bringing
back Diego Milito from Real Zaragoza. Arrivals 02/09/2008 Iago Falqué Barcelona to
Juventus 01/09/2008 Bosko Jankovic to Genoa 01/09/2008 D. Brivio Vicenza to Genoa

If Bolton beat Arsenal today then they had better hire a carpenter.
Bolton player Fabrice Muamba, formerly of Arsenal, said that when Arsenal were knocked out of the
FA Cup by Bolton two and a half years ago Le Boss went mental and smashed down the dressing room
door!
After reading that I reckon that Le Boss could take on hard man Roy Shaw in a fight.
Nicklas Bendtner and Emmanuel Eboue have been handed starts by Arsene Wenger as the Gunners' take
on Bolton later this evening. Dutch forward Robin van Persie has been dropped to the bench, while
Alex Song is also replaced despite putting in a workman-like effort against Dynamo Kiev during
midweek.
Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy has NOT broken his leg during this evening's Premier League win over
Bolton Wanderers after the official website confirmed that the Frenchman only suffered "shin
bruising". The 22-year-old had be taken to hospital following a challenge from Trotters
striker Kevin Davies, who was booked for the tackle, and Cesc Fabregas claimed after [.
Arsenal The loss away to Fulham is a distant memory as Arsenal find themselves top of the Premier
League after 5 weeks. The win at Bolton was impressive not only coming after a long mid-week trek
to the Ukraine in the Champions League, but also considering that Arsenal had lost 13 of 27 matches
in the [.
On paper a home game against Premiership newbies Hull City should an easy three points. But life
isn't paper and the reality is that Hull will not come to the Emirates and lay down.
They have a manager in Phil Brown who is basically a Sam Allardyce clone. He will have seen the
problems that Bolton caused us under Fat Sam and will try to replicate them.
Good news for United, Nemanja Vidic is set to return from suspension. While Edwin van der Sar is
said to have recovered from a knee injury sustained during the Manchester United vs. Chelsea match.
Also Ronaldo will be in the starting line-up. While Bolton will have Johan Elmander and Matt Taylor
back from injury.
Ronaldo won and converted a disputed penalty on 60 minutes to score his first league goal of the
season, before Rooney arrived from the substitutes' bench to seal victory with an exquisite finish
late on. The result represented only United's second win in five Premier League matches, and the
first time Sir Alex Ferguson's team have [.
With the very real danger of adding to the debate, I have to say that I'm sick and tired about
hearing about Rob Styles gifting United a penalty on Saturday against Bolton. Referees' make
mistakes, get over it.
I don't know if it's just me, but the BBC in particular seems to be snided out with ABUs these days
and there's definitely too many Liverpool fans in the Biased Broadcasting Corporation.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has today praised referee Rob Styles. United profited
from an extremely poor penalty decision from Styles during their 2-0 win against Bolton at Old
Trafford on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo was taken down by Bolton defender Jlloyd Samuel, however replays clearly showed
Samuel getting a touch on the ball.
Notable arrivals: Danny Shittu (Watford), Mustapha Riga (Levante), Fabrice Muamba (Birmingham
City), Johan Elmander (Toulouse) Notable departures: Blerim Dzemaili (Torino, loan), Abdoulaye
Meite (West Brom), El Hadji Diouf (Sunderland), Ivan Campo. Midfielder heads out on loan Jussi
wants his teammate.
Notable arrivals: Ryan Donk (AZ Alkmaar, loan), Borja Valero (Real Mallorca), Abdoulaye Meite
(Bolton), Scott Carson (Liverpool), Marek Cech (Porto), Roman Bednar (Hearts), Luke Moore (Aston
Villa), Gianni Zuiverloon (Heerenveen), Kim Do-Heon. Notable departures: Curtis Davies (Aston

A 2-1 hammering. Fulham, featuring the speedy Andy Johnson up front for the first time,
destroyed Bolton with a complete footballing display. What stood out was the sheer variety of our
attacking play. Aside from the familiar pinball passing, we now saw the team prepared to
launch the ball into the channels for Johnson to race [.
Blackburn 0-4 Arsenal
Is there a better way to warm up for an arduous trip to the Ukraine than to thump Blackburn
4-0?
It's funny, because you could argue 4-0 was generous to Arsenal; the last two goals were classic
late game-killers and Blackburn caused our defence a fair amount of problems all day.
Newcastle's outstanding young goalkeeper, 20 year-old Tim Krul will make his first competitive
appearance for Newcastle United in nearly two seasons, when he turns out for the Reserves at Bolton
on Wednesday evening. Tim Krul - starts for Reserves tomorrow night The young Dutchman has made
only one senior appearance for Newcastle, but was the star man [.
