Valentino Rossi (296).
The fastest man on the planet, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, has stated that he will wait to
give professional soccer a try until after his track and field career is over.
Bolt is the world and Olympic 100m and 200m champion. The 24 year-old sprinter believes that
he has roughly four years remaining in the world of track and field, and is looking to drop his
100m time to a blistering 9.
Mornin all, it's been a while. I've really just been enjoying the season lately, and didn't feel
the need to write about how splendidly it's been going for us so far (Knock on wood.) There is a
news story worth mentioning though, and so here I am to get on with the mention. Sol Campbell has
rejoined Arsenal, and I have to say I'm thrilled to have him back in the fold.
Sports aren't quite like music, acting and the visual arts, where one can just leapfrog genres,
turning in mediocre performances across the board and calling it a success. In fact, only two names
from football come to mind when considering successful sporting leaps Bixente Lizarazu can kick
your ass and Gabriel Batistuta is the Next Big Thing in polo.
The frothing fury of those who feel personally betrayed by Arsène Wenger's recent comments on
the January transfer window have had me splitting my sides.
You will recall that our leader seemed to categorically rule out taking the AFC wallet out of
the club strongroom (where it is permanently protected by Peter Storey and some ‘friends') to add
to our squad this January.
Sometimes a defeat is just so alarming that extracting positives is a futile and thankless task.
Such must be the sentiment down Ashton Gate way after their 6-0 annihilation last midweek. And it
wasn't even a visiting Premier League side exploding with foreign fusiliers, nor even a blue
touchpaper lighting Forest.
It was a bit like watching 'the three little pigs' when I finally got to see the game. We
huffed, we puffed and on 94 minutes we blew the Wolves house down.
Yesterday in my post I said three points please and I honestly didn't care how we got them. I
feel the same today, gritty performances are one's that win trophies, and yesterday was just
that.
It's typically accepted that Pele and Maradona are considered to be the best players of all time.
Fair enough, both have a record of goalscoring and trophy-winning along with that special kind of
charisma that separates the truly stratospheric stars of sport (Ali, Jordan, Bolt, etc.) from the
merely dominant (Federer, Schumacher, etc.
It's been quite a season in the English Premier League already. We've had the handshake. The upset.
Burnley's bolt from the blue floors United as Carrick fluffs spot kick The tackle. Courtesy the
Republik of Mancunia Even, the beachball. But nothing could prepare us for... The kiss. Dear god,
what could follow that?
Well that was strange. Eight rounds in and the Tippeliga still doesn't make much sense, but even
in that context Vålerenga inflicting a 6-1 smackdown on Odd was a bit of a bolt from the blue.
Also, reluctant and grudge-laden credit where it's due: Brann were really quite good..
They were, honestly.
"pretemporada".
I felt sick yesterday when I heard the news that all good United fans were wishing their ears not
to listen to.
Owen Hargreaves is back in the States because of his injury again.
When Hargreaves was purchased, which seems like an age ago now, I was delighted. And that was
because I believed he was that mythical player we like to call 'The Missing Piece of the Jigsaw'.
So it is World Cup Final day in South Africa and whatever happens tonight we will have a new
winner of the famous trophy, its set to be a pretty decent game too.
I'm siding with the Dutch I can't stand the Spanish team as you know, it is full of Ba*ca
players who I want to see crying tears of devastation after being caned 13-0 in the final.
If he had his way, the world's fastest man Usain Bolt will be playing Premier League football for
Manchester United but Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to take up the offer. The New York Post
reports...

Usain Bolt has accomplished much more then your average twenty four year old. The record
breaking Jamaican sprinter is not only an Olympic gold medalists, but by many sports critics
accounts he is the best athlete in the entire world.
And the physical specimen recently admitted that he would love to tryout for another sport
other then track and field.
My first game since Stanley's birth, and while I'd been warned that all was not as it should be
at Craven Cottage, this still came as a nasty surprise. If you can't beat the worst team in the
league on your own turf, well, what then? Miserable.
A game featuring two struggling sides almost had to be cagey, so an early goal would really be
useful.
