It's time again for the often imitated, never duplicated, original BOLD PREDICTIONS. I do this bit
every year, and you can look back at all the previous versions on this site if you like, they're at
the bottom of this page. I did well last year predicting RSL as league champs. I'll be dinning out
on that one all season.
Yesterday in Part 1 of my 10 bold predictions for 2010 I touched on the UEFA Champions League, the
NASL/USL dispute, MLS champion and the EPL top 4. Today I will hit many of the same competitions
including the 2010 World Cup. Here is part 2:
6) The MLS will announce the next round of expansion for the league, brining in the Montreal Impact
as the 19th team to join the league in 2010.
The new year of soccer has kicked off with the 3rd round of the FA Cup. 2010 holds several exciting
things to look forward to - World Cup in South Africa, Champions League final in Madrid, and the
MLS expansion in Philadelphia. I'd like to take this opportunity to make my 10 bold predictions for
2010.
So, let me get this straight. I'm not backing off on this one...

over an open fire set inside a rusty old barrel. (Although I would try to watch tonight's MLS
opener – probably through the department store window with all the other homeless soccer
fans.)
SI.com asked little ol' me and other writers to provide 2010 MLS predictions.
Below are some pretty bold predictions for today's MLS matches. Let's see how Soccer Jones
stands at the end of the night. So far, our record has been nearly spot on (10-3), but get ready
for a full day of MLS action.

RIP Malcom McLaren.
McLaren was the manager of the Sex Pistols, a fashion designer and a musical artist in his own
right.

I was sitting at home with a toothache resulting from a root canal procedure. And yes, it pains
so much that I can't even sleep. So thought of making bold predictions for the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Well, usually my brain says something, and my heart says something else (Though I have been accused
at various points in my life of not having either a brain or a heart).
THE BIG PICTURE
Cameroon remain Africa's most successful World Cup team, having reached the quarter final stage in
1990. Problem is, since then they've only won one of their last 10 matches at World cup finals and
worse still, they've never scored against Japan.
