'Mid-major' not a term when it comes to college soccer

When Creighton hired Elmar Bolowich last February to be its men's soccer coach, this school of 4,000 undergraduates in Omaha, Neb., didn't just manage to land a respectable steward for its program. It basically upended the entire space-time continuum of college sports.
Not only did Bolowich win a 2001 national title, he was also the winningest men's soccer coach in the history of the school he came from.

The BCS standings have been updated. However, there is no surprise at the top of the BCS standings. LSU remains number one and Alabama is at number two. Unless something crazy happens, those two teams will play each other in a rematch to decide the 2011 college football national champions.

After LSU and Alabama, Oklahoma State sits at three.

For the first time in more than three years, a college football team received all first place votes during the college football regular season. That team is LSU, who sits at 10-0. No. 2 in the AP Top 25 is Oklahoma State, followed by Alabama, Oregon and Oklahoma.

Stanford and Boise State both fell after suffering their first loss of the season this weekend.

In the updated BCS standings, the Stanford Cardinal have moved up to No. 4. Boise State, like usual, got screwed and dropped a spot to No. 5, while the top three of LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma State remained the same.

Stanford jumped from No. 6 after beating USC in triple overtime. However, Stanford will need some help to move into the national championship picture.
