I don't know if anybody has covered this, and if they have, fair play. It needed to be mentioned
given the curious nature of our defeat against Man Utd at Old Trafford.
When the final whistle went, I was going through a range of negative emotions although I was still
proud of the performance the lads gave.
I hope I'm not making a mountain out of a mole hill here but I'm worried about our little darling
Cesc Fabregas.
I hate to say it but I've watched him in recent games and he doesn't seem right. His body language
and the way he is playing suggests that he either has things on his mind or he is just short of
confidence.
Come Sunday, expect the television cameras to be zooming in on the faces of Rafa Benitez and Sir
Alex Ferguson as they try to detect whether the pressure is getting to either manager. Attention
will be paid to body language and how each manager interacts with one another, what the handshake
is like and to make sure they exchange pleasantries after the final whistle is blown.
I stole this from DT, but this is too fantastic not to share.
If you understand Spanish, enjoy. If you understand body language, watch as Raul melts into
non-existence as during Madrid's win against Almeria, Pelligrini goes back and forth of calling up
Raul. First he tells him to warm up, but then Ronaldo's penalty is scored.
Did you miss the Champions League group stage action last night? Not to worry: we've compiled a
short montage of the key moments.
And by key moments, we mean gratuitous shots of men focused on doing their jobs as professional
athletes that we have turned into cheap tawdry moments of objectification for our own
entertainment.
Chivas USA 2 San Jose Earthquakes 2
Chivas USA Coach Preki's body language in the closing minutes of this game (off of bench, hands
on hips, hand smacked into palm, etc.) told you all you needed to know about the coach's
frustration and the recognition this was a perfect (lost) opportunity to put the Galaxy and Dynamo
under pressure Sunday.
Robin van Persie now delivering the form that we always knew that he could provide as long as he
stayed fit. With a goal in each of the last seven games he is fast becoming a major threat to
defences in the Premier league and Europe with his quick feet and eye for goal. He lacks only the
perfection of his set pieces to truly become the player who alongside Fabregas can fashion a real
charge at the premiership title.
Arsenal emphatically crushed Wolves and cruised into second place, a position I expect us to
easily maintain. I don't see the mancs as a threat, there are only small pockets of the manc loving
media who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the fact that not only do Arsenal have a better first
team but they have a better squad.
For many, cheating is an ugly blight on the beautiful game. Players who break the rules are
regularly vilified and criticized. But cheating, when used effectively, can be a great way to help
your team out. It is so much easier to score from the penalty spot than from open play
with all those pesky defenders around.
I'm working from my "basement office" today because our floors are being buffed and
poly-urethaned. An adventure. Ruby is with me, under house arrest, as she has already helped
herself to part of one of the guys' lunches (a feat she accomplished while Willie and I were
walking down the driveway to get the paper).

Reports are coming out of Central America tonight that Amado Guevara is set to leave Toronto FC in
order to return to his native Honduras. Numerous reports in Latin American publications claim that
the mercurial midfielder is about to sign a two year deal to play for CD Motagua. An uncredited
quote apparently from Guevara states "
I'm excited, it's what I expected.
Those dirty paupers from Oop Norf visit the emirates today with a lot of resentment still
burning over from last season..I dont care what that lying piece of work Phil Brown says, they will
be looking to put one over on us after what happened last season in the 'spitgate'
debarcle..Tensions will be high and Hull will be up for this, after all they did beat us here
last season it what proved to be an embarrassing result, seeing as though Hull are a poor side.
Christmas should be a time when you leave your worries behind and enjoy the festivities but, for
Liverpool supporters, that is likely to prove impossible.
As I was privileged to play for the Reds and still enjoy a profile thanks to this column and my
work for Radio City, rarely does a day pass by without me having a conversation with a fan about
the state of our nation.
