Fake Sigi turned me on to this, a story written by Paul Olio seven years ago prognosticating the 2010 USA World Cup team (which wasn't announced Saturday, but will be soon).

I can't at all fault Paul for any of these choices - it's hard enough to predict the team seven weeks out, much less seven years, but let's look at these guys and see what has happened (or not happened) to them in the intervening seven years:
