Sky Sports News understands Liverpool are in talks to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder
Maxi Rodriguez.
Maxi Rodriguez is willing to take a pay cut to seal a move to Liverpool.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder wants to play regular first-team football to cement his place in
Argentina's World Cup squad.
The 29-year-old, who has also been linked with Boca Juniors and Juventus, is out of contract at the
end of the season but, according to Spanish newspaper AS, will lower his £4.
Apparently it's tradition at Boca Juniors for the kids who join the first team to get special
haircuts from the senior members of the squad. Either that or these guys really need to lay off the
PCP.

Argentine giants Boca Juniors have unveiled their new Nike 105th Anniversary kit. The new limited
edition Boca jersey recognizes the Swedish national flag. Legend has it that when trying to decide
the colors of the newly formed club, the club's founders (a group of Italian immigrants) saw a
Swedish ship docked in Buenos Aires.
Federico Insúa was part of the presentation that of Nike's 105th anniversary kit and the
excitement reigns prior to a presentation in Boca's pre-season training site in Tandil.
The new Nike kit will bring back the pure colors of the club as there have been variations in the
shades over the past decade.
Everyone always made fun of Inter in the past for being predominantly Argentinian, giving them

A quick news update this one: It was confirmed on Thursday that the Argentine national team will
play two friendlies in Buenos Aires prior to leaving for the World Cup. The original plan was to

- Start by adding at least 70 years or more of statistics to show for
- Stir with the football passion that only some cities can bring
- Spice up with political differences
- Cook with the memories of some legendary matches and stars
- Serve hot with the inimitable parfum that makes these derbies and classics
passionately debated from one generation to the next

invest money to sign star players and build new facilities, as well as to destine capital and
resources for the development of players in the clubs' youth divisions.

Tonight in Mar Del Plata River Plate defeated Boca Juniors 3-1 to be crowned champions of the
"Copa Desafio". With goals by Rodrigo Rojas (19), Gabriel Funes Mori (19) and Daniel Villalba (17)
River claimed the first superclásico of the year. The first goal was scored just before the 4
minutes of play, Chilean International Gary Medel made a mistake in the back and gave the ball to
Rodrigo Rojas, who made a run towards the goal and scored on a low shot.
Alfio Basile resigned as Boca's manager. The poor results from the previous season, the
team's mediocre performances heading in to the new season and divisions within the team have doomed
Basile.
Perhaps it is time for the former national team manager to seriously consider retirement from
football management.
