What a weekend of football that was! But before we turn attention to the action this midweek
(and beyond), it's time to decide on the worst miss of the weekend.
Here are two contenders...
1. Bobby Zamora v Everton
Not long after this howler the Toffees went up the other end and scored a couple of goals,
making the miss all the more painful for Fulham fans, players and one Bobby Zamora in
particular.
English Premier League side Fulham FC has unveiled its 2011/12 Kappa away kit ahead of Sunday's
season-closer against Arsenal at Craven Cottage. The all black outfield player strip will see
action during the club's pre-season along with the new lime green goalkeeper uniform. Featuring a
host of internationals including Cling Dempsey (USA), Bobby Zamora (England) and [.
Putting the snippets together into a small home-made blanket:
It appears that Mark Hughes very nearly didn't survive 2010. After the West Ham defeat he was in
big trouble, but senior players persuaded MAF to put his axe away. This was partly because they
understood how important Bobby Zamora was to the team, and partly because of a general belief in
what they were doing under the new manager.
And now for the grownup response.
If anything Hughes' resignation makes me more glad I renewed my season ticket. Which sounds odd,
but at no point did I especially warm to Mark Hughes. Not that warming to a manager matters a hill
of beans in the big scheme of things, but Hughes and Fulham never did feel quite right.

Quick Reminder, Real Life An odd season at Fulham saw them lose their very successful manager to
Liverpool where he was a flop. His replacement managed them to a very solid 8th place finish in the
standings with no reason to expect that it was either a fluke or that a huge regression was coming
but then he left too.
Lots of FFF options to start the season. I was strongly considering going with Tom Cleverley or
Anderson as one or both should start at CM for Manchester United this weekend against West Brom and
both are super cheap ... Continue reading →

While the red half of Manchester were gunning down Chelsea at Old Trafford, City weren't having
it quite so easy against another west London side.
Despite going two up, courtesy of Sergio Aguero, second half goals from Bobby Zamora and Danny
Murphy spoiled the visitors trip to the capital.
England coach Fabio Capello has named his full 24-man-squad ahead of England's decisive Euro 2012
qualifier with Montenegro on Friday, with former captain Rio Ferdinand being excluded from the list
Capello was at White Hart Lane watching the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal and
was seemingly impressed with man-of-the-match fullback Kyle Walker who [.

Arsenal 1-1 Fulham Premier League 26th November 2011
Arsenal looked a little stale against fellow Londoners Fulham on Saturday, with the hangover
from their midweek Champions League exertions stifling their usual flowing, inventive game.
Sacha Kljestan's run of form is turning out to be anything but temporary.
Kljestan continued his strong season for Anderlecht, scoring a goal in the club's 5-3 triumph
over Lokomotiv Moscow in their UEFA Europa League battle. His curling effort to the far corner dug
Anderlecht out of an early 1-0 deficit and helped the Belgian side win its group, which should make
for a more favorable result during Friday's knockout round draw.
It says here.
Shame. Gera has that lovely ability to find space in the penalty area. His winner
against Hamburg in the semi-final was a great example: what looked like a simple tap-in came
about because Gera legged it across the six yard box as the corner came over. As the ball dropped
there he was to score, but these tap-ins don't fall to everyone, and Gera deserved all the credit
for being in the right place.
" I'm here and you're there and we're not together. Backs to the wall r us."
The signs of retreat were everywhere. From Cesc Fabregas preferring to spend his day in
Barcelona at the Spanish Grand Prix to Arsene Wenger cheerleading Man Utd's Champions League dream.
But it was on the pitch once again to remind us where it had all unraveled.
Former Liverpool frontman set for Fulham debut - Fulham FC - Sport - Fulham Chronicle Yes,
indeed... there is Premier League action! Well, of a sort. Fulham take on "Faroe Islands
part-timers" NSI Runavik tonight in a Europa League qualifier. Let's hear it for the Fair Play

Vidic out so badly with his playing card based trickery that the Hot Robot almost blew a

Well, mesmerising footballers has become something of a hobby for the crafty conjurer and this
edition features him baffling the hell out of, among others, Jermain Defoe, Jermaine Jenas and
Bobby Zamora.
Ok, the headline may sound strange. But given his act of petulance against Montenegro will have
ramifications on England's preparations for next summer, it may force England into a beneficial
reshuffle.
At time of writing Rooney is set to miss just the opening game of the finals in Poland and the
Ukraine, though that could be extended to two or more.
Come on Robin be honest, you can't dribble past 4 players can you?
One more match before the return of Samir Na$ri to the Grove. Not as if Arsene Wenger sees
Manchester City as any kind of a threat. Such is the confidence of the team at the moment, the
manager looks to put his second string side to face the league leader.

Fulham were dumped out of the Europa League with the very last touch of the game when Odense
slung in a deep cross and substitute Baye Djiby Fall nodded in an equaliser at the far post with
roughly four seconds left to play (the referee blew for full-time during the goal celebration),
thus robbing the Cottagers of the points they needed to edge out Wisla Krakow, who beat
table-toppers FC Twente on the night to finish second in Group K -just one point ahead of Martin
Jol's side.
One facet of this season I've found to be a bit peculiar is the seeming lack of narrative.
Usually by this point in the season the pieces of the puzzle are coming together.
For me, last year was all about Europe. The year before, we watched and wondered about what Roy
could do with his first full season at the helm.
There's a lack to talk about Fulham these days. The euphoria of last season, with the Hodgson
army battling their way to the Europa League final, has somewhat died.
Like an inflating balloon, the media rushed in during their European cup run: all full of praise
for Roy's lads who rose above the odds to scalp Shakhtar, Juventus and Wolfsburg.

Just a quickie to let y'all know that, after six months out with a broken leg, Bobby Zamora made
his Fulham comeback last night and marked his return with a goal in a reserve team match against
his former side Brighton.
Zamora is now due to return to first-team action in around three weeks' time, after shattering
his fibula against Wolves back in September of last year.

Quick trivia question: who's the leading free-kick goal scoring team in the EPL?
Give up? Wigan.
Buried in a thread in FOF about substitutions was TonyGilroy's observation that free kick goals
are down this year. Well, he's correct. According to the treasure trove football-lineups.
Bah. Never really looked like winning. Never mind parking the bus, Bolton parked an
armoured tank in front of their goal and we had no way round, through or over it.
The match's big moment was Ivan Klasnic's goal, a sloppy pass from Gera eventually leading to a
sloppy clearance from Baird, and next thing we knew Klasnic had volleyed home (just as he had a
couple of years ago) from around the penalty spot.
In the countdown to Fulham's controversial unveiling of the Michael Jackson statue, Sportsmail can
reveal the extraordinary lengths the club are going to in order to mark the occasion.
Club officials have secretly organised a series of mini tributes for Sunday's match against
Blackpool at Craven Cottage that could further anger the Fulham fans who are already fuming over
the statue that has been erected outside the ground.

First Star: Frank Simek and Carlisle United lifted the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley, beating
Brentford 1-0. The League Trophy is contested between clubs in League One and League Two. Peter
Murphy scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute. Simek went the distance in a game where
Carlisle dominated the chances.
Fulham-Blackpool the encounter I watched last Saturday with real attentiveness is, in a weird
sort of way, my kind of match. Not that I don't enjoy the big clubs with their expensive
workforces: especially when they play one another there's an entertaining Clash of the Titans feel
to the enterprise.
It may well be the Champions League that is stealing all the headlines this week, with Manchester
United heading over to Germany to take on Schalke tonight before Real Madrid and Barcelona lock
horns tomorrow night in the first of two games that are sure to be European classics, but the
Premier League is still all set to experience its fair share of corkers this week, and one of those
could well end up coming in the form of a fixture between Fulham and Bolton at Craven Cottage.
Sturridge a doubt for Trotters - Yahoo! Eurosport Bolton manager Owen Coyle is hoping striker
Daniel Sturridge will have recovered from an ankle knock in time for Tuesday's Barclays Premier
League trip to Fulham. The on-loan Chelsea man scored his seventh goal in nine games in Sunday's
2-1 win over Arsenal but was forced off with the problem late in the game.
The 1958 Cleveland Indians baseball team used two players at First Base. Mickey Vernon, a good
left-hander who was adept at getting on base, and Vic Power, a right handed hitter and flashy
defensive player who once, having been informed that the restaurant he was in did not serve
coloured people, replied: "That's OK, I don't eat coloured people.
So when pundits say the title race isn't over till it's over, it looks like it might actually
not be. Although it probably is. Well done to United and Chelsea, and Arsenal for that matter, and
almost certainly the officials at Stamford Bridge who have kept the race alive, although having not
lost a single game at Old Trafford this season, United are still very much in the driving seat;
Hernandez is probably riding shotgun.
Pepe Reina could play his 150th consecutive Barclays Premier League game for Liverpool at Fulham on
Monday night.
Should he achieve the feat, it will be seventh longest sequence by any player in Reds history.
The last match Reina missed was the club's final Premier League game before the 2007 Champions
League final at home to Charlton.
Synchronized ballet dancing proves to be a much more entertaining affair than what happened on
the pitch
Well, at least it wasn't another defeat. I can't remember the last time we lost 3 on the trot.
Thankfully, it didn't happen yesterday. This wasn't the best of games in truth and the
commentators were right in suggesting that the game had a end of season feel to it, a friendly, if
you like.
Bobby Zamora is back in the England squad after recovering from injuries that cost him to miss
most of the season for Fulham. Zamora scored four goals in 11 matches for Fulahm, and with Andy
Carroll injured and Wayne Rooney suspended, Zamora was one of four forwards named by England coach
Fabio Capello in his 26-man squad for next month's 2012 European Championship qualifier against
Switzerland.
Fabio Capello has revealed his original 26 man squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier against
Switzerland on the 4th June with Bobby Zamora earning an England call-up after a string of
impressive performances, including his double against Arsenal in a 2-2 draw this weekend. Wayne
Rooney's suspension rules him out of the qualifier and Fulham striker Zamora is called up in the
forwards along with Sunderland striker Darren Bent and Tottenham strikers Peter Crouch and Jermain
Defoe.

game against Switzerland, with the Fulham man registering a superior minutes per goal rate in the
2010/11 Premier League to any of the other forwards in Fabio Capello's latest squad.
Zamora has endured an injury-hit season, but in his limited playing time he netted five goals,
one more than Spur striker Peter Crouch, despite a more substantial playing time.
