Liverpool traveled to play Fulham in the English Premier League on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
After their huge win last weekend against Manchester United, Liverpool looks to continue their
recent good form.
Fulham beats Liverpool 3-1 Video Highlights
1st Half
Liverpool started out dominating possession and chances in the match.
One year ago, Fulham was arguably the worst team in the Premier League not named Derby. The
club showed little holiday spirit, sacking Lawrie Sanchez just four days before Christmas.
New manager Roy Hodgson needed a great escape, scraping to 36 points and safety on the season's
final day. This season, however, Hodgson has revolutionized Fulham, [.
Its a list, and a damned long one, but well worth taking a look at! We love Four Four Two,
almost as much as we love Fennec Fox's.

The Twitter bandwagon is in full flow - some would say slowing down, almost - and there is a
steady flow of footballers and football related Twitterers appearing in the micro-blogging sphere.
It really hit the back (and front) pages with Darren Bent's Twitter 'rant' at Daniel Levy a few
weeks back - but did you know that Hull's new striker, signed on the back of Daryl Murphy and Bobby
Zamora turning them down, was also there?
He played for Manchester United. He can't be that bad.
If you read the blog regularly, you know we have a Funny Feeling Friday column during the Premier
League season - where I basically try and justify a gut instinct I have about an unpopular, out of
form, or underrated player who I believe will step up his game in the near future.
Fulham hosted Manchester United on Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the English Premier League.
Both clubs are in the top half of the table and have had successful seasons domestically and in
Europe. Man U are in second place heading into the match and in the knockout stage of the UEFA
Champions League while Fulham are in the top half of the table and into the knockout stage of the
UEFA Europa League.
In the past the Premier League's manager of the year award has normally been a forgone
conclusion with the gaffer who lifts the Premier League trophy at the end of the season usually
receiving a second award a couple of weeks down the line. However, with the top flight so tight
this season and with so many clubs having good campaigns the award for the best manager might be a
little closer than usual.
Clint Dempsey was far from his Texas home on Easter Sunday, but he still managed to celebrate
the holiday in style.
The U.S. national team midfielder scored two goals on Sunday to help Fulham post a 3-1 victory
over Manchester United on Sunday. Dempsey ran onto a loose ball outside the penalty area and
slotted home an equalizer before capping the game by running onto a Bobby Zamora pass and sliding a
shot through the legs of an on-rushing Shay Given.
This week the age old melody banter between two sets of fans. Thats right football
chants. Obviously there are some offensive corkers we have left out, but the ones we left in are
equally class. Enjoy!!

Basking in the afterglow of a rare West Ham win, I have been browsing at some statistics on the
most creative Premiership players so far in the English Premier League 2009/2010 season. What I
used to gauge creativity is the amount of chances created and assists credited, which should be a
fair enough assessment of a player's creativity.
Trinidad & Tobago is in last place in the CONCACAF Hexagonal round of World CUp qualifying, but
the Soca Warriors are about to get a big boost with the addition of two European-based players who
have committed to play for them.
Fulham striker Bobby Zamora and Bolton defender Jlloyd Samuel have received their T&T passports
and will join Trinidad & Tobago for its crucial qualifier vs.

If the U.S. men's national team is to score its first road victory in the CONCACAF Hexagonal

A wonderful performance gives Wenger a 'good' selection headache.
Arsenal's rookie goalkeeper Vito Mannone earned a '10 out of 10′ rating from his
manager Arsene Wenger for his performance in the 1-0 win at Fulham.
With Manuel Almunia sidelined by a virus, and Lukasz Fabianski out with a knee injury,
third-choice keeper Mannone started his second successive Premier League game on Saturday.
Why waste 10M (Arshavin) on a brilliant midfielder classified as a striker when you can spend just
6.6M (Walcott) for one? Will the cheap Amr Zaki return to Wigan's starting lineup and get in on the
goals? Will the even cheaper Nicklas Bendtner put two in the back of the net to send down Boro?
A week of major fantasy question marks due to injuries, rest and rotation news is upon us.
Once again I'll be looking at the impact of the results:
Trinidad & Tobago vs El Salvador
This is simply put, a must win match for both teams. A lot of people glance at El Salvador's
position in the standings and think that they're in the hunt, but a closer look at the schedule
suggests otherwise.

Fulham started off their 2009/10 campaign in winning fashion as they brushed aside a Portsmouth
team still in turmoil.
Lady luck shone on Roy Hodgson's side as a Clint Dempsey's shot took a heavy deflection off
Bobby Zamora and went straight into the back of the net in the 13th minute. A goal that even
Hodgson himself admitted was ‘fortuitous' proved to be the perfect start for a rejuvenated Fulham
who are aiming to better their 9th place finish last season.

Just days after a disappointing 2-1 loss to Mexico in a World Cup qualifier, some of the United
States' top players bounced back with solid weekends abroad.
Clint Dempsey began the new Premier League season on a positive note, going the full 90
minutes in Fulham's season opener against Portsmouth, and playing a part in the game's lone
goal.
Why doesn't Roy Hodgson get the credit he deserves in the United Kingdom? As I've mentioned before,
In Scandinavia and Italy, he's held in high regard, in Britain people point to his sacking at
Blackburn Rovers back in1997. With 33 points gained so far this season, Fulham are one win away
from emulating their points [.
Clint Dempsey's second full season in the English Premier League keeps getting better and better.
After watching his team fall behind on the road, the U.S. international stepped up and fired home
two second-half goals to help Fulham to a 3-1 win at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. The
victory moved The Cottagers up to eighth in the table, within striking distance of a spot in next
year's UEFA Europa League, a surprising turnaround for a team that was in real danger of being
relegated just one season ago.

City To Make Move For 2 Highly Rated Defenders After Terry Snubs Them.
John Terry has snubbed a move to City even though it would have seen the defender earn £250,000 a
week. Instead he will put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him get a mere £150,000 per
week at Chelsea.
The New York Red Bulls still didn't find a victory, but the club finally found a good result,
scoring a 2-2 road draw vs. W Connection in the first leg of their two-game series in CONCACAF
Champions League qualifying action.
The Red Bulls looked to be in danger of an embarrassing loss when a Juan Pablo Angel header
clearance helped set up the opening goal for W Connection, but Austrian midfielder Ernst Obster
made his Red Bulls debut in style, sending a Dane Richards cross at goal, where it took a
deflection before beating the W Connection goalkeeper to equalize.
Each and every season throws up a number of players who seemingly come from nowhere or break the
shackles of mediocrity to make a name for themselves with successions of top quality performances
for their clubs. So, with that in mind, here's a selection of players I think might just surprise a
few people this season.
While waiting for the game to start I was having a nose around the Observer's Review section,
and more specifically around an interview with art collector Charles Saatchi. He was asked about
(artist) Mark Rothko and the nature of infinity, and replied as follows:
"My understanding of infinity goes something like this: every 100 years a sparrow flies to the
top of a large mountain, and cleans its beak by scraping it on the highest rock.
Centre Back names Liverpool, Barcelona and Inter Milan frontmen as the best but how could he
omit the Fulham man?
Nemanja Vidic has named the three strikers that he believes are currently the best in
the world and has chosen one from England, Spain and Italy.
The Serbian defender does not relish playing against Liverpool's Fernando Torres in the league
and would see the task of marking Samuel Eto'o or Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a tough one.
First Star: Clint Dempsey got the third of Fulham's three goals in their 3-1 win over Liverpool.
Bobby Zamora had Fulham up in the 24th-minute, but Fernando Torres answered back three minutes from
halftime. In the second, Erik Nevland put Fulham back up in the 73rd-minute. Liverpool went down a
man in the 79th when Philipp Degen was sent off, and ended up with nine after Jamie Carragher
followed with an 82nd-minute red card.
There are now many rumours associating us with elongated centre-forward Peter Crouch. The
Times says this:
Sunderland have made a bid for Crouch and Fulham are also keen on him. The striker doesn't fancy
a move to the North East and his £70,000 a week wages would break Fulham's salary structure.
He always reminded of a Dolphin, not sure why?
Skysports.com understands Hull City and Newcastle United are rivals to sign Aston Villa
striker Marlon Harewood on loan.
Hull are desperate for attacking options and spent the summer attempting to secure
reinforcements to avoid a repeat of last season's Premier League relegation battle.
Devastating finale, of course, but have you ever seen such a good football match?
Fulham fired out of the traps like men possessed. In 3 minutes Greening struck hard and low,
the shot parried well. Our players passed quickly and effectivelyy, and Roma didn't see the ball
until 6 minutes were on the clock.
The English Premier League had four matches on Sunday, October 25, 2009 including Manchester
City v Fulham. The match was a chance for Man City to stay in position for a top 4 finish while
Fulham is needing points away from Craven Cottage if they want to repeat a top-1o finish in the EPL
table. Here's a recap along with video highlights for the match.

Image via Wikipedia Fullham supporters finally have something to talk about throughout the entire
week, last Saturday their favorite team outperformed the Mighty Reds with three goals extravaganza
at CRAVEN Cottage. Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff gave the Fullham supporters a
reason to rejoice for the rest of the week.
Will there be more to come for United?
As far as title winners go, Manchester United's Class of 2009 have been one of the best. In
cold, hard terms of consistency United have been absolutely incredible - 27 wins from 37 games, 87
points from 37 games and just 7 points being dropped at home belies a level of reliability
unmatched since Mourinho's glory days in the mid-2000s.
I am, I know, something of a broken record on this subject, but I've found more proof so bear
with me.
It has been my contention that Bobby Zamora, while not playing as well as we might hope, has not
been as bad as people say. He has played in a team that does not emphasise attacking play, does
not commit numbers to attack, which makes it easier for defenders to close down chances.
I don't think I'll be treading any toes by suggesting that the past 12 months hasn't been the
kindest to American soccer, on pretty much all its fronts. Our emissaries abroad in the big leagues
have all regressed to varying degrees (minus probably and only Baby Bradley), even if it were ever
the paltriest of declines.
UPDATE: According to James Dall at Sky Sports, Hull City boss
Phil Brown admitted that the club's bid for Fulham striker
Bobby Zamora. On Monday or Tuesday Brown hopes to meet with the striker. He
said,
"We have tabled a bid and it has been accepted .
Oh Sweet Jesus!
Rafa Benitez is planning a raid for Michael Turner.
The Liverpool boss has Hull centre-half Turner on his wanted list.
And Turner is putting a £9million switch to Fulham on hold as he awaits developments from
Anfield.
Fulham manager Roy Hodgson would love to take Lewisham-born Turner, 25, back to London whether
Bobby Zamora makes the opposite trip or not.
With this win, Woy Hodgson's team have all but assured their place in the next round of the Europa
League; the Lithuanian team had no answer to Fulham's Premier League class last night, as Bobby
Zamora, Danny Murphy (pen) and...
It looks as if Jozy Altidore will spend next season on loan with Hull City of the English Premier
League. With Jozy in England and a Hull City press conference scheduled for tomorrow afternoon to
introduce new players, many speculated that the two sides were finalizing an agreement. Altidore
confirmed these suspicions via his twitter account, saying:
"Press conference tomorrow at 2:30 stay tuned!
Fulham advanced in the Europa League with a 6-0 aggregate win over Vectra, 3-0 on the night.
Dickson Etuhu opened the scoring in the 57th and Andrew Johnson added two goals in the 80th and
84th minutes. Clint Dempsey started and went the full 90 for Fulham. Eddie Johnson was an 82nd
minute substitute for Bobby Zamora.
Looking at the predictions that are currently flooding the world of Premiership football, two
teams are entrenched in a dogfight for who will finish bottom. No-one, but no-one thinks both Hull
City or Burnley will stay up. One if not both of them, in the eyes of everyone think they're dead
and buried before a ball is kicked.
