Dominic Kinnear and the Houston Dynamo have some big questions to answer this year if they hope
to qualify for a fifth consecutive postseason berth.
The departure of Stuart Holden and Ricardo Clark to Europe leaves two gaping holes in their
midfield, and Kinnear must reshuffle and prepare for life without two of his stars.
HOUSTON, Tex Team icon Brian Ching, fellow 2010 MLS All-Star Brad Davis and talented, young
midfielder Geoff Cameron highlight the list of 11 players the Dynamo will protect during
Wednesday's expansion draft. The Dynamo could protect 11 players, and they chose to protect Ching,
Davis, Cameron, Lovel Palmer, Bobby Boswell, Colin Clark, Mike Chabala, [.
This week, two big events will take place in Fort Lauderdale. The first is the Annual General
Meeting of the newly formed North American Soccer League, which begins on January 7tth. With the
controversial decision by the United States Soccer Federation last week to not sanction the startup
league (which is largely formed by existing teams), the meetings are almost certain to yield some
headline news.

Week 14 in Major League Soccer looks to get kicked off with a bang. The Houston Dynamo travel
north to face their old mate Dwayne De Rosario and Toronto FC at BMO Field. TFC looks to continue
their impressive home record this season while the Dynamo are hoping to begin getting some
consistent play going forward in the second half of the season.
Can I tell you something? Bobby Boswell surprised the hell out of me. Dude's All Star party last
night at Venue was beyond funny, beyond great. The club was packed, the ladies were scandalously
hot and there where all manner of pro athletes there to buy them drinks.
As for the comedy, it was unexpectedly top notch and VERY NSFW.

The Houston Dynamo managed to break a 10 game winless streak on Saturday night with a wild 4-3
victory over the Chicago Fire in Houston. This episode includes post match audio from Brian Ching,
Lovell Palmer, Bobby Boswell, Pat Onstad, and Coach Dominic Kinnear's entire press conference.
Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ching was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North
American Soccer Reporters for Week 21 of the 2010 MLS season. Ching's hat trick led the Dynamo to a
4-3 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday at Robertson Stadium.
Ching started his goal-scoring tear in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the
box.

I have to admit I was slow to get on that bandwagon, but I'm glad I did. I get to read all sorts
of gems from U.S. soccer players (MLS and USMNT). Take this lovely Valentine's Day advice from
Taylor Twellman:
Valentine's Day.
It may seem odd for a second-half substitute who only played 21 minutes to win an MLS Player of
the Week Award, but it is what Kenny Mansally did in this 21 minutes that made all the difference
for him and the New England Revolution this week.
The Revs were being dominated by D.
This will be a bigger challenge than DC United. The Dynamo have lost Dwayne DeRosario, Stuart
Holden, and Ricardo Clark over the last two seasons but continue to be one the better sides in MLS.
Dominic Kinnear has done an excellent job of replacing departing players and not missing much of a
beat.
After a close call (Vidic v. Cahill) as well as record-high votes (Gourcuff v. Kranjcar), the
wait is over. So, who made the cut?
No, not Marco Borriello. Much to our dismay. You have broken his heart and left our
headquarters in shambles. In other words, you came out in masses to rally around your favourite
finely-arsed ballers.

Let's face it, KC did not deserve to win that game and weren't exactly taking the game to Houston
last night before Davy Arnaud's questionable red card. Last night's game against Houston was a
really disappointing result for a few reasons including the Dynamo's injury problems and the
Wizards inability to capitalize on it and the complete disappearance of the team's offense,
especially in the second half.

It's not just a number of World Cup hopefuls in Princeton that won't be partaking in Major
League Soccer action this week.
In addition to the nine players called in for national team duty, Chicago and Colorado
rescheduled their match for Week 12 and Philadelphia is on a scheduled bye week, leaving the talent
pool a bit watered down, although you probably weren't starting many Union players anyway.

Oh by the way, did you hear Philadelphia Union has a game Saturday too?
Yes, it's been lost in the hype of the U.S. National Team's last friendly and upcoming match
earlier on Saturday against Turkey at Lincoln Financial Field.

The ringer at last night's party at Venue in Houston aka Bobby Boswell's Def Comedy Soccer Jam was
Houston Texan David Anderson. Kid was a pro up there and could probably get paid a pretty penny to
take his show on the road.
Here's most of his set from last night including his NSFW takes on the University of Phoenix,
teammate Owen Daniels, fantasy football, the ease with which NFL and players attract the ladies.
The Fire played their most complete game of the season the last time these two teams met on
April 24 at Toyota Park. A 2-0 win along with a thourough performance provided some optimism at the
time.
The Fire are once again optimistic but for different reasons. While the result of the initial
meeting gave hope that Carlos De Los Cobos' system was starting to gel, this match-up could provide
a spring board into a big playoff push.
The expanded CONCACAF Champions League has meant more games for more MLS teams. The group stage
guarantees at least six games added to the schedule, which means that 40+ game seasons are no
longer an unusual occurrence.
Already this season, Toronto is on schedule to play 42 total games. Columbus and Seattle are in
line for 41, while Real Salt Lake gets a slightly lighter load of 38.
