India goalkeeper Subrata Paul was the hero as the host nation held their nerve to retain the Nehru Cup winning 5-4 on penalties against Syria at New Delhi's Ambedkar Stadium on Monday.

Alberto Colaco, the AIFF secretary-general is stepping down after eight and a half years. He is being asked by Praful Patel, the acting AIFF president to continue on as they search for a suitable replacement.

Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, the AIFF president has been out of the loop for many months since a heart attack eight months ago.

An absolutely convincing 4 -1 victory over Tajikistan which included a hat trick from Sunil Chhetri and one from Bhaichung Bhutia.Dawn of a new era surely.Great work Bob Houghton .This can't be yet another flash in the pan.All the chaps who don't like cricket have another team to cheer at last.
