The face of the United States in the Middle East right now isn't President Barack Obama, any
elected official or a military leader. It is Bob Bradley.
The 53-year old Bradley, who coached the United States national team to the second round of the
2010 World Cup after they captured their opening round group, took over as national team head coach
of Egypt this past September.
Bob Bradley has always been a tremendous example for his players and leader as a soccer coach. Now,
in the wake of a terrible tragedy, he is asked to do the same for a nation.
Bradley insisted Monday that he is "totally committed" to coaching Egypt's national soccer team
despite the turmoil in the country following the riot at a game last week that left more than 70
dead.
The recent upheaval following a club match in Egypt that left 74 people dead and more than a
thousand others injured could have easily convinced Bob Bradley to pack up his things and return to
the comfort of the United States.
Instead, the former U.S. national team coach and current Egypt national team coach reportedly
remains committed to his job while doing his part in the rebuilding of a nation.
The soccer world sheds a tear for fans, players, and civilians that lost their lives in Egypt a

incident and shared their thoughts. Here's some of the essential reading:
Last Wednesday, in the Egyptian city of Port Said, fans of rival soccer clubs fought and 73
people were killed.

DISASTER IN EGYPTAlex Labidou of Goal.
I hate to start these things on a down note, but today I feel I have too. As most know,
Wednesday in Port Said Egypt a riot broke out at a Egyptian Premier League match. At the least 74
people lost their lives midweek and hundreds were injured after a match between Al-Masry and
Al-Ahly.

on TV as he was getting ready to attend another match that day.

As Egypt reels from the tragic deaths in Port Said, national team coach Bob Bradley is taking a
role in the rebuilding.
The former U.S. manager joined in a non-violent protest march on Thursday as public anger
against the interior ministry grows.
I bet Bob Bradley had not anticipated this when he took over as coach of the Pharaohs last year.
Needless to say, it is very sad what happened in Egypt earlier this week.
A league match pitting rivals Al-Masry and Al-Ahly at Port Said turned tragic when 73 fans were
killed when violence broke out after Al-Masry 3-1 win.
It's been less than five months since former U.S. coach Bob Bradley took over Egypt's national
team in the wake of the country's upheaval and revolution. A revolution that now appears directly
related to the stadium massacre at Port Said on Wednesday, believed to be premeditated revenge from
pro-Mubarak thugs.

An Egyptian TV station managed an interview with Bob Bradley in the aftermath of yesterday's

U.S. prospect Alfredo Morales has not seen the field for Hertha Berlin since October, but that

BREAKING NEWS:
Disaster in Egypt.
Fans of Al Masry in Port Said stormed the field today after a big upset win over Al Ahli, and then
all hell broke lose. As of this posting 73 people are reportedly dead and at least 1000 more
injured. There has been little word yet on how the deaths occurred, but a stampede is being blamed
for most of it.
A violent riot erupted following a match between Egyptian rivals Al-Masry and Al-Ahly, leaving
dozens of people dead and hundreds of others injured.
According to various reports, the still-escalating death count from the incident in Port Said,
Egypt, stands at 73, while Egyptian outlets are reporting that the country's health ministry has
said that more than 1,000 are hurt.

Prior to Bob Bradley being appointed as its head coach, Egypt failed to qualify for the 2012

My beloved Minnesota Stars won the re-inaugural NASL championship! I know most of you don't follow
the 2nd division of soccer in North America, but it was a great year for many of the teams. The
play on the field was arguably the best ever, and when your team goes on one hell of run and
eventually wins it all, there is nothing better!
Now that we're through the holidays its time to get back to business. Hopefully KSE will make a
coaching choice this week, as this debacle of an off-season can't go on much longer. More on that
in a moment.
