LA Galaxy have revealed their third shirt for the 2011 MLS season.
The new jersey, designed by Adidas, looks black in the photo but is actually a dark blue (or, as
LA Galaxy are calling it, a dark blur color called "Punjab"). The trim of the shirt is in gold (LA
Galaxy refer to it as "Light Oil Gold," no joke).
In our final View from the Enemy preview, David Johnston from the Wolves Offside blog has talked
to us about his hopes for Wolves this season.
Scott the Red: Were you happy with your team's performance last season?
David Johnston: I think in the first two seasons in the top flight the target has to be
survival.
Major League Soccer -- Move over, soccer moms, the league's hard-core fan groups are here to
stay - ESPN
That said, standing in the River End during a game, you can't help but be optimistic that MLS is
veering toward an organic and testosterone-driven experience. That is perhaps the biggest sign of
soccer's growth in this country.
Phew. That feels good doesn't it? As the blur of a hangover subsides gradually but fairly gently I
must admit I'm still feeling pretty good, and struggling to unplaster the smile from my face. A
first win for the Reds in Derby since 1994, a first ever at Pride Park and a first double over the
Rams in 21 years [.
Now we know the coverage the tennis gets, even the cricket on Free-To-Air but it was the hidden
A-League that gets the biggest crowd in Melbourne last night.
What would we get if we could increase the media coverage, fta coverage etc etc.
A-League Melbourne Victory Vs Melbourne Heart Crowd: 32,231
Twenty/20 Big Bash Victoria Vs New South Wales Crowd: 17,118
Australia Open Rod Laver Arena night session Crowd 26,000 (approx according to Channel Seven)
And I reckon the 20/20 Big Bash will soar - then die - as crowds reject the novelty.
If January's transfer deadline day was football acting in a deep recession, the mind boggles at
what will unfold should the good times roll once more.
Two British record transfer fees within minutes in a blur of aircraft and fast cars travelling
between Tyneside, Merseyside and London as Liverpool and Chelsea sent the markets into a
frenzy.
Arsenal 2-1 Barcelona
As Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons once said: Oh what a night.
I can't remember anything like it at the Grove. The best match in the five years of ground?
Definitely, indubitably, unarguably. It was unforgettable. I shouted myself hoarse and the Epic
Bundle Counter went off the scale.
This just in: we did a deal for a highly-touted Spaniard in under four days. What's more? We
didn't overpay for his services. Me likey.
Welcome to The Bridge, Juanito.
Let me see if I can track the genesis of this one. On Wednesday of last week, news broke that we
were in pole position to get Mata from the clutches of Arsenal and Tottenham.
I'm pathetic at cards. I pick up the rules easily enough but then it's pretty much all a blur.
So few numbers and colours, frankly it's not that complex, but if you waited for me to work out
what to do, you'd be there all night. And people round the table, staring...Whatever the opposite
of a poker face is, I've got it.
Jordan Henderson determined to win back England place
• 'One day I know I will be given the opportunity' • England Under-21 captain reflects on
'blur' of a year The England Under-21 captain Jordan Henderson admits the last year has been
something of a blur but is determined to bide his time as he waits for another crack at the senior
squad.
There are a couple of problems with waking up at 6.30 AM Central Time to catch a lunch-time
kickoff on a Sunday. One, it's really early for a Sunday morning, and your system has not
really slept off/flushed out everything that went into it on the Saturday night. Secondly, when
they say lunch-time, they apparently mean noon.
