Newly promoted Sampdoria delivered a message for AC Milan and it wasn't a good one. Christian
Abbiati could not move a muscle as Andrea Costa powered in his header to give Sampdoria the winner.
In another disturbing sign, the San Siro was half empty as the fans stayed away, disillusioned by
the club's failure to sign quality replacements for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.
szólj hozzá: Swansea vs West Ham 3:0 GOALS HIGHLIGHTS
What a shambolic display by West Ham! Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal just makes an unhloly mess as
he reacts too late to Angel Rangel's shot allowing it to deflect off his hands straight to goal.
Then more disaster as Michu steals James Collins's disaster of a chipped back pass and the rush is
on but the Spanish midfielder beats Jaaskelainen for his third Premiership goal.
Dave Bryan looks on stonily as Roberto Martinez gives him a piece of his mind
Wigan was robbed of a win against Chelsea by an incompetent linesman. Dave Bryan was guilty of
letting both Branislav Ivanovic and Juan Mata's goal stand although they were clearly off side, the
first more so than the second.
Five matches into the season and a perfect record. An outpouring of 21 goals with just four
conceded. And the latest, a win over arch rivals Chelsea by a 3-1 margin. Utd are already
separating themselves by their intimidating performances.
His side's effervescent start is still not enough to make Sir Alex happy.
Maybe some roasted goat at the tailgate? The Under-A-Chivas are in town tomorrow
coming off a beat down at the hands of the LA Galaxy. The Rapids really need to pick up home points
to have any playoff chance at all, so this is almost a must-win game. Game time tomorrow is 7pm, so
the tailgate starts at 5.
It's the final trip to the East Coast for the Seattle Sounders. When asked about the benefit of
that Sigi Schmid reminded all that they would also be taking a trip to Trinidad and Honduras for
the Champions League. The team will still get a couple extra training days a month after Sunday's
match against the New York Red Bulls.
The Portland Timbers play their last match of the season against the LA Galaxy, finally getting
the chance to face the defending champions at home. The Timbers have been awfully generous to the
Galaxy this year, as two of LA's seven wins have come against Portland. Saturday's match will be
the Timbers' last chance this season to take points away from them.
Cech May Spoil Czech Party, Again? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Once renowned amongst the best goal keepers in the world, Petr Cech is now rated amongst the
most inconsistent ones. The Czech goalie has not shown the form that led to his fame and has
already conceded 5 goals in first 2 matches at the European Championships.
Well the Rapids, via a tweet from Tim Hinchey, essentially confirmed that our new #10 is Martin
Rivero. However there was no official announcement of the signing today. The Denver Post suggests
one reason:
So what's the delay? Here's why, maybe:Rivero remains in a contract dispute with
Rosario Central, according to Diario La Capital.
Before the start of Euro2012, many England fans were pessimistic about their chances of having a
successful tournament after being decimated by player injuries and with a new manager who had
hardly got his feet under the table. Yesterday's 3-2 win over Sweden in their Group D matchup,
certainly gave us all hope that maybe, just maybe, this tournament might be different.
He was so excited about being Poland's out-and-out Number One as they set out to try and win the
Euros on home ground.
Instead he woke up on Saturday morning knowing that his main contribution to the national cause
may turn out to be helping to ensure that Poland fail to qualify from the group stages.

Being blamed for some of the goals that Manchester United conceded in the last few matches,
David De Gea doesn't only lost his starting spot to Anders Lindegaard but might also be asked by
the club to do an eye operation.
According to the latest reports in England, the Red Devils are preparing a full-time optometrist
to treat De Gea, who is actually having a problem with his vision as he always wears glasses since
kids, only to replace it with contact lenses during matches.
Former Chelsea Coach Carlo Ancelotti believes that English sides Arsenal and Chelsea will
struggle against Italian opponents AC Milan and Napoli. The 52 year old further went on to say that
state of the game in England is 'unwell'.
These are very interesting remarks coming from a coach who helped led the Blues to the Premier
League title in 2009/2010.
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has emphasized the importance of composure and humility
during the most successful period of his career, both with the team and individually.
Hart won his second consecutive Barclays Golden Glove award en route to City's thrilling title
win earlier this month and the young stopper continues to hear praises after linking up with his
international teammates during England's Euro 2012 training camp.
1. Poor refereeing – the gift that keeps on giving.
Those that have been watching long enough will argue if Kompany's tackle was really worth the
red card. A few years ago, it would have been a brilliant tackle but now considered a foul, but
honestly to fans on both sides, was it really worth a red card?
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Man City's amazing unbeaten run finally ended last night
after they suffered 2-1 away defeat to Serie A club SS Napoli. The loss now means City will have to
beat Bayern Munich at home in the final group game and hope that Villarreal who are yet to pick up
a point in the tournament can spring a surprise and beat the Italian club.
Garry Cook's latest gaffe at Manchester City follows a succession of embarrassing blunders and
his job as chief executive lingers in the balance at Eastlands.

Sepp Blatter blunders into racism row What the back pages say
Sepp Blatter was facing renewed calls for his resignation last night after dismissing on-pitch
racism just as the FA charged Luis Suarez over allegations he racially abused Patrice Evra.

The United States women's national team went down early, two goals after fourteen minutes, to
France, but scored four unanswered to win their first match of the 2012 London Summer Olympics. A
series of defensive blunders put the Lady Nats on the back foot before goals from Abby Wambach,
Alex Morgan (2), and Carli Lloyd eased the jitters.
If the MLS season were to end today, few could argue that New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Ryan
Meara has been the top rookie of the 2012 class.
Meara has performed consistently well through the first half of his first year as a
professional, avoiding the type of blunders that are associated with young goalkeepers while
playing every minute for a Red Bulls team fighting for first place in the Eastern Conference.
An amazing Arsenal side were yesterday forced to rue their missed chances as their hopes of
progressing to the quarter finals of the Champions League were extinguished by a very poor Milan
side.
Losing 3-0 on the night, Milan made it through to the last eight 4-3 on aggregate thanks to
their first leg 4-0 win at the San Siro two weeks ago.

From attempting to leave the gas station while the car is still being filled to an ice skating
mission on a frozen but ultimately not frozen enough pond, we're heavy contributors to the
pantheon of dumb.
Considering the fact that Sepp Blatter has been working for FIFA for the best part of 40 years,
it is remarkable just how good he's gotten at annoying football fans, or should I say English
football fans.
Now if any other 75 year old man with a degree in business and economics (and has never played
professional football) walked into your local and started spouting their nonsense opinions about
how issues such as racism in football can be solved with a handshake, I'm sure he would be told to
pipe down and get out with some colourful language thrown in for good measure.
Life's tough enough for the unemployed in an unstable global economy. And life is certainly
tough enough for those who have to referee football games.
But it's infinitely worse when unemployed and forced to live with the same name as a referee
recently rendered exceedingly unpopular by some decisions in a rather large game the previous
weekend.
In his last post, Jacques posed an interesting question:
Is it acceptable/effective to select experienced players with incomplete skill sets and little
tactical malleability? Or, is the system Klinsmann seeks to implement better served by selecting
players with less pedigree but with skill sets better suited to succeed in a possession based
system?
