One-time US international forward Eddie Johnson has been deemed surplus to requirements at Fulham
FC and is one of several players being shopped around by the Premier League club as they hope to
offload payroll during the upcoming transfer window.
The news should come as no surprise to those who have followed EJ's career since leaving Major
League Soccer nearly 24 months ago.
A reaction to a good list of potential signings.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger originally sent his scouts to Ajax to look at centre-half Thomas
Vermaelen, and his £10m raid ended up pretty well.
The new Cardiff City Puma Home Kit for the 2009-10 Football League Championship season has been
unveiled. The Bluebirds finished seventh in the Championship last season, conceding the playoff
spot on goal scores to PNE. Puma recently signed a five year deal with Cardiff, and this is the
first offering from the kit maker's stable.
Kick-off: Sunday 13th September, 2.05PM, Cardiff City Stadium. Referee: Andrew Hall (West
Midlands). Sunday's away trip to the new Cardiff City Stadium sees Newcastle United missing
Championship player of the month, Shola Ameobi, along with Andy Carroll and Jonas Guitierrez.
However, despite the lack of senior strikers, young Nile Ranger has started to come to [.
Ninian Park may be no more; the padlock and chains on the entrance gate locking up 99 years of
history; but Bluebird fans now have a chance to secure a piece of history.
Everything - including items such as Dave Jone's office sofa; the boardroom table; corner flags
and goalposts - are being sold in an online auction.

When Jermain Defoe wakes up tomorrow morning he won't have to wonder why the sun is winking at him
or why bluebirds are pulling back his sheets and why hot blondes are fondling his man junk. No, all
he'll have to do is watch the replay of last night's match ...
This was the first league win for the Bluebirds at West Brom since 1957. Goals by Chris Burke
(18) and Peter Whittingham (85 pen) did the damage. The other talking point was the red card shown
to West Brom goalkeeper/skipper Scott Carson in the second half, for a head butt on Michael
Chopra.
Hello and welcome to a 'special' edition of my guest blog, previewing this weekend's 1st leg
play-off fixtures, and in particular looking at The Championship as four teams fight it out for
that lucrative final promotion place, that will ultimately take them to the 'promise land' - The
Premier League.
Get ready. The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect! The Rumour Joe Ledley has
put Premiership clubs on red alert after rejecting a new contract offer from Cardiff City. The Sun
says the Bluebirds want to cash in on the £6million-rated Wales midfielder, 22, with his deal
expiring at .
Cardiff City could be preparing for life without Joe Ledley next season as they look into the
possibility of taking Liverpool midfielder Damien Plessis on loan for a year.
The Daily Mirror is reporting the Frenchman as a target for Bluebirds manager Dave Jones as the
chase for Ledley's signature is hotting up between a trio of Premier League clubs.
Next up for Stevenage is the longest trip of the season and hopefully, like last season, the
venue where Boro win their first 3 points of the season. The start of the season has been a bit of
an anti-climax compared with the way we ended the last campaign. At the moment, two poor
performances have yielded just two points against newly promoted opposition and a lot more was
expected when the fixtures were announced.

West Brom moved top this weekend, capatalising on Newcastle's away loss to Forest.
Cardiff closed in on Middlesbrough, before climbing up to third with a win on Tuesday. Could this
be the bluebirds season? At the other end of the table Ipswich drew again, quickly levelling having
gone behind to an early Beattie goal.

19:30 Leverkusen v Frankfurt, Bundesliga, ESPN
Leverkusen find themselves one point ahead at the top of the Bundesliga, but they've only beaten
Frankfurt once in their last six meetings. Normally stingy in defence, they conceded two goals late
on last week against Schalke, so the potential for a further wobble here is considerable.
Like Marmite, the Football League Play-Offs have always divided public opinion. There are those
who revel in the unmatched drama and tension that the three-game, post-season soirée, whilst its
detractors point to an injustice that a side that missed out on automatic promotion by a single
victory (Sheffield United) should be forced into a two-legged fixture with one who scraped into the
top six thanks to a missed penalty (Preston North End).
Everton have once again been linked with Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley. It doesn't really come as a
surprise as he is David Moyes player all over.
Young, talented and British I think he could be another inspired Championship signing by Moyes,
just like Lescott, Jags and Cahill have been.
Last night's stunning Blackpool victory against Newcastle will have sent Magpies fans back across
the bleak northern Pennines with doubt in their bellies, but Cardiff City's halting of a recent
mini-decline was perhaps equally as pregnant in meaning. Dave Jones' Bluebirds may have ridden
their luck in notching up a 1-0 away win, but their display, especially in the closing minutes, was

The Cardiff City man is another defender reputedly on the radar, although Manchester
United are also to be close to a deal.
