Financial fair play rules into the sinkhole?

In October 2010 Wayne Rooney issued a warning to the Glazers to splash the cash to make Utd competitive. He was proven right a year and a half later as City won their maiden Premiership. For their part City were hardly obliging as even before the ink had dried casting their eyes at their favourite supply chain, Arsenal, for the services of Robin Van Persie, ready to send his wages out of the stratosphere.

Something like that anyway

Manchester City Council have announced that the city is to commemorate Manchester City's (are you still following?) first title win for 44 years by quite literally painting the town blue.

The plan is to turn the streets of Moss Side blue by laying coloured tarmac.

Amazing, amazing last day. What a nail biting finish! City looked done for as full time went by and they were a goal down to QPR. They had to score twice to win the title with about 3 minutes left in stoppage as United were winning away at Sunderland.

10 man QPR were proving extra-ordinarily tough to break as City swamped them but kept running out of ideas.

You may be aware that some Manchester City fans, in all their wisdom, are claiming there is a conspiracy to help Manchester United win the league.

When Michael Carrick got away with a foul in the box against Fulham, they were full of it. They of course forgot that just two days earlier at Stoke Gareth Barry should have conceded a penalty and been sent off.

"Dzeko's been purr tonight, very purr. Which reminds me, I hate kittens..."

Anyone who happened to listen to BBC Radio Five Live's coverage of Man City's clash against Villarreal will have probably turned off (as I did) around about the point that their insufferable, jowly curmudgeon-in-chief Alan Green added 'orchestrated fan displays' to the long, long list of piffling things he 'really hates' about football which came about five minutes before kick-off (a couple of minutes after he'd already taken the time to add the City fans themselves for having the temerity not to fill the completely fill the stadium on a Tuesday night).

Emmanuel Frimpong is a unit: Now he needs a bit more control

It's hard to believe we're just three matches old and already Arsenal wears the scars of a full season. The weak of heart need not apply because we really do not how this will all end. A spectacular supernova implosion or a gradual decline into a red dwarf?
