Quite the weekend for sports, Yanks fans. Butler looks to complete their Cinderella story tonight
on a high note against the Blue Devils of Duke for the 2010 Championship. The UConn women's team
won their 5739th straight came by a meager 20 points to advance to play Stanford for the title
Tuesday night.

For the first time this season, a new team tops the college soccer top 25.
Following its shocking upset against Cleveland State, Akron has fallen to No. 2 behind
still-undefeated Louisville, who receieved 16 of a possible 23 first-place votes.

Amanda fills in as host on the show this week, along with Melissa and Kirsten. Melissa gloats
Marylands victory over Amandas beloved Blue Devils and we take a quick look at NCAA soccer. We
dissect the USMNT roster for the October friendlies, learn how to pronounce Eric Lichajs last name,
mock Brek Shea a little (in our continuing quest to get Heath Pearce on the show), and get into the
Charlie Davies conundrum.
UConn enjoyed their promotion to the second-ranked team in the country for only a couple of
hours as the Huskies fell to No. 6 Maryland 1-0 on Tuesday night. Freshman Patrick Mullins scored
in the first half to hand UConn their first defeat of the season. It was the first shutout of the
season for UConn, who had averaged nearly three goals per game previously.
Duke's woeful form continues as the No. 19 Blue Devils fell to unranked UC-Santa Barbara 2-0.
Cole Grossman netted a double for The Guachos while goalkeeper Sam Hayden recorded his
fourth-straight shutout. Duke has now won only once in their previous five games and are in danger
of falling out of the rankings for the first time this season.

It's more of the same at the top of the table this week as the top four schools in the NSCAA
poll, Akron, Louisville, Maryland and North Carolina, stayed in the same position as last week.
Southern Methodist moved up one spot to round out the Top 5, bumping Connecticut down to No.
That was the quote most commonly uttered by former Duke University head soccer coach John Rennie
after a Blue Devils loss - his feelings were that you are never doing as well as you think you are
when you win...and never doing as poorly as you think when you lose. He believed in really trying
to stay at an even keel so as not to let your emotions get the best out of your focus on your next
opponent.

It's a good thing for the country's top teams that Cleveland State probably won't be headed to
the NCAA tournament this season.
A week after handing then No. 1 Akron its first loss of the season, the Vikings held No. 6
Butler to a scoreless draw in front of a scant 138 fans in Indianapolis.

The semifinals are set for the ACC Tournament as four more teams were eliminated at WakeMed
Soccer Park in Cary, N.C., in Wednesday's quarterfinals.
No. 3 Maryland dispatched a stronger-than-expected Clemson side with a 2-1 victory. The
Terrapins flexed their offensive muscle early with an eighth-minute goal from Billy Cortes.

After one day of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, one thing is certain. There won't be a repeat
champion.
Virginia's dreams of a repeat were extinguished on Thursday as the Cavaliers fell 1-0 to Old
Dominion.
A national championship for Caleb Porter began on the soccer fields of Southwest Michigan.
Porter, who was a two-time all-stater for the Blue Devils in the early 1990s, became the first
area person to coach an NCAA Division I athletic team to a national title when his Akron men's
soccer team upset No.
