Blackpool commit to attacking football under Holloway the romantic is a post from: Just

Several decades have passed since the last time Blackpool played top flight
football, dating back to the wonder years when players like Ray Charnley, Jimmy Armfield, Alan Ball
and Stanley Matthews graced Bloomfield Road.
The transfer windows are silly enough already, but now Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has revealed
that a missed call scuppered his club's deal for Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Nugent was
Blackpool's main transfer target, and the Tangerines had a deal agreed with the club and all that
was needed was Nugent's signature.
A relegation certainty was the tag given to Blackpool after their shock promotion to the Premier
League. But after the Tangerines continued their stunning start to life in the top flight with an
impressive 2-0 victory over Newcastle United, are Ian Holloways men primed to prove all the
doubters wrong?
If I had to pick one Premier League match of the weekend from the past few days, the winner
would easily be West Ham United against Tottenham Hotspur. The match seemed like it took me on a
timewarp to the 70s or 80s when teams would often take long range strikes at goal and goalkeepers
would seemingly float through air to tip the ball around the post to safety.
