So this year the Sounders had the best draft in the history of MLS - again. The thing is, our
player scouting efforts are so far above that of the average team, we really should be considered a
separate case. As an example, did you see me lamenting the loss of Mo Johnston? Remember when I
stripped him for Danny O'Rourke and Will Hesmer for a partial allocation?

Do you remember the people who filled the blogs and airwaves last season saying that we needed a
goalkeeper and had to buy one for £10m? Or £20m. The trolls' friends in the press duly obliged
with stories such as "Roma to offer goalkeeper Doni to Arsenal" (Daily Mail) the point [.
FC Boro has returned. After deciding to call it a day back in August, the desire to get this
place up and running again has come back after the events of recent weeks. It's not totally back as
it was as I've still got a few issues to iron out with the domain name and pictures etc, but the
blog is back, just as Stevenage FC enter a new era after the departure of Graham Westley.

Some inter-network news this morning for you all. As you guys may very well know we here at
Stumptown Footy are part of a much larger, bigger and all around fantastic sports network of blogs
and sites. This works out great for you guys since it means we have more resources available and

Wednesday 8 February. Write that date down – it was the start of a new grassroots conversation
for U.S. Soccer.
A new niche avenue online for people to share their experiences about the sport while linking
with fellow fans across the country kicked-off last night. #SoccerSoapbox arrived for one hour,
asked 4 questions and then what transpired was informed and passionate responses about the current
state of soccer and more importantly ideas and insights into how it can be improved for the
future.
The Very Best of Pitch Invasion edited by Tom Dunmore Published by Pitch Invasion Press December
2011, $5.99 ISBN: 978-0615546834 Recent weeks have seemed pivotal ones for the football
blogosphere. Three prominent general blogs, Les Rosbifs, European Football Weekends and The
Equaliser have all decided to call it a day while pioneering club websites Viva Rovers and Boy from
Brazil have also stepped aside; the circumstances behind the latter events having been chronicled
in these pages.

Four years ago, we asked you to send over your footie blogs for our perusal and many were
crushed in the stampede to show us what you were doing.
But that was along time ago, Kickettes. Since that time, technology has advanced to such an
extent that player performance can be monitored via their shoes, manager's are keeping control of
their charges' off-pitch activities via GPS (sort of) and everyone with a smartphone is an Oscar
winner in-waiting.
For months now, the folks on our network have been working tirelessly to put together a
high-quality Youtube channel for sports fans and members of the Nation to supplement the coverage
of the over-300 blogs on SB Nation. Starting Thursday, March 1st, that vision will become a
reality.
The official SB Nation Youtube channel will go live this week, featuring team-by-team coverage
as well as sports variety shows that will cross regional and sport barriers.

Bavarian Football Works - Bayern Munich News and Commentary
Now that SB Nation has 19 MLS blogs and a strong EPL contingent, some La Liga and some Seria A
what's next?
Boom - Germany. Hey there Bayern Munich, nice to meet you.

There is news in some of the local Manchester blogs, that Manchester United are after FC
Twente's Douglas. Douglas FC Twente's Brazilian center-back There was news last week that
Newcastle are very close to tying up a deal for the 6'4″ center-back for around €5M, which is
about £4.1M.
Hey all. Again, I know that I have not been blogging recently but these are a couple of crucial
months coming up for me and I really have to focus, so I'm afraid that my blogs may be a bit thin
on the ground for a little while. Anyway, I had a relatively free evening [...]

Sunday could potentially be Didier Drogba's final home game for Chelsea if his contract
negotiations with the club break down.
Now yesterday
across Twitter - Chelsea fans have come up with a tribute to Didier
Drogba in the 11th minute of the game and have asked for all Chelsea fans and blogs like this one
to help spread the word.
So, do anything last night then?
Me and Mrs Blogs just had a quiet pint or two in the local, discussed the upcoming referendum in
this country and the implications of same, then came home and had a toasted cheese sandwich. And
apart from that nothing else happened. Nothing at all. Nothing at all.
Good morning to you. It's another scorcher in Edinburgh.
Thanks to all for the kind messages re: Mrs Blogs and the marathon running. I can think of a
million things to do on a hot day like that, running 26 miles is really not one of them. Sitting in
the park supportively drinking cold beer before going to finish line to see a sunburnt Mrs Blogs
arrive was one of them.

If there was no Match of the Day there'd be no need for blogs like this.

It's true. It's massive news.
I'm going on loan to Barcelona for the next 10 days. I've done a deal with the city whereby I'll
drink their beer, eat their food, swim in their sea and walk around the place in flip-flops until
it's time to return home. This is me and Mrs Blogs' first holiday for five years so we're kinda
looking forward to it.
